Travelodge by Wyndham North Bay Lakeshore

We enjoyed the mobile discount on price and the daily deal price drop of 31% sale for the evening. It was a Monday night deal and we appreciate the offer. Perfect for the travel at this time of year. We had plenty of hot water and the room was clean and comfortable for good rest on a long drive. The location was on lakeshore and away from city hustle with easy access to the highway. Breakfast was served hot in the dining area by the front desk with comfortable tables and seating. Beds were comfortable and modern and the internet worked easy. Brand new doors or panels along the halls added to the rustic cottage feel for the place with a central fireplace in the common hall

No clean remote program. Trust me....once you see the concept you will appreciate the remote and share this message. We didn't like the holes in the walls and the roughed plumbing. On going works but noticed. Lamp switches are dated so be gentle on the screws. Bathroom fan needs replacement...it was Loud but functional. TV was a bit small to enjoy live sports.

The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were super friendly, accommodating and welcoming to me and my family. The hot breakfast was great as they kept topping up food and drinks in the morning. The room, bed, and bathroom were fairly clean and comfortable for us. There were plenty of parking spots too for guests on the property.

Only minor comment would be that the toilet bowl was not thoroughly cleaned in the bathroom and that the Wi-Fi was quite unreliable and spotty even though our room was in the middle of the motel.

Location - close to everything, nice design of the hall, corridors and rooms - feeling cozy. Quiet, despite of being pretty occupied. Decent breakfast, facility very organized and monitored to keep meal supplied, personnel ready to help. Overall friendly personnel. Not super spacey, but relatively big room, well equipped, comfy armchair. Big parking lot.

Weak/unstable Wi-Fi, one mattress was uneven, so one of the kids keep rolling to the middle of the bed. Lacking the lighting badly - room is half dark. Dinosaur A/C we were afraid to switch on - thankfully, we didn't need one. Overall, it would be great to have maintenance/upgrade of little details: paint, door knobs, etc. Quite scarce supply of toiletries.

Overall great service. Room and breakfast were very good. Staff were very friendly. Lots of parking close to the door.

Only problem we encountered was at the registration. Use of the electronic key was not explained to us by the tall gentleman who handed us our keys. We carried some of our luggage to two different outside doors and couldn't get the doors open. Walked back to the lobby and then they explained that the key had to be inserted with the little arrow facing the door. We hadn't even noticed the arrow. Went back to the door and now it opened.

Were able to get a very reasonably priced room at the last minute. Great restaurant just next door (Farina Ristorante in Best Western). Staff awesome!

Really hard to get a loaded luggage trolley in the front door. Ramp is vey narrow and then the narrow door opens the wrong way. Need to have a wider automatic door with a better ramp. On leaving, we went out one of the side doors with a better arrangement, but then got locked out. Need locks that can be opened from the outside by room card key. Stale/mouldy smell in corridor outside room (ice machine may have a leak or need cleaning).

I did like the property was pet friendly and we were put on the main floor close to an exit so we could take our puppies out

what I did not like was I was emailed from booking.com that even thought I told them I had 2 small puppies Thayer emailed me and said there was no extra charge. the property wanted to charge me $80 for 2 nights for 2 puppies. the property charged me $40 for 2 nights instead. I don’t know if this is the property or book.com issue. Booking.com has not followed up with me yet regarding this issue

Old, but clean. Impressed by breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful

The smell in the room. It smelled a bit like cigarette. Although it's a non-smoking, because it's old and has carpet, it's hard to get rid of smell. I would suggest getting rid of carpet.

breakfast was ok, there was lots to eat.

when leaving through the side door(not the main entrance) my husband fell hard on the ground because he didn't realize he had to step down , after he got up we saw a little sign in the corner of the door window saying..watch your step. we were not happy with that, there was a big rock there and his head just missed it.

I like this hotel and this is the second time I've stayed here. It is clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. It was very quiet the first time I stayed here (which I liked very much) but this time it seemed a bit noisier but it also was busier this time as compared to the first time. The free wifi has a strong signal and the overall cost is quite reasonable. I will probably stay here again next time I need a room in North Bay.

Other than the minor "noisier than last time" issue I mentioned already, I didn't find anything else I truly didn't like. If anything could be improved upon It could be the brown bagged breakfast to go which I found to be a bit underwhelming.

The breakfast was terrific with a lot of variety. The beds were comfortable. The phone service was quite good too. It was also good to be able to use the Internet.

It would have been good to have a little more light in the room. The cards to open the door of the room were a problem but the receptionist or the staff were were always friendly and helpful.
