We stayed for one night on the way to take one of our kids to camp in the area. Somerset was a treat. It is close to the main road which was a concern when we arrived however it didn’t impact at all as noise was barley noticeable - if this is putting you off don’t worry. The room was exceptionally clean and well set out and nicer than the photos show which often doesn’t happen! The floating dock, canoes and other things were a treat and the water was super clear clean and warm. We swam morning and night. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the food. The lady serving was just a super star and so lovely however she is doing the serving and cooking so be aware of this as, even with her working at pace, if everyone arrives at the same time it can be a little slow. But if you are on cottage time then this is not an issue. This is no criticism of the person working there as they did a wonderful job - just could see that when the restaurant is full some support may have helped. As said above, food was lovely and I really enjoyed it. What I would say is that if you would like to have a drink on the dock or outside - they don’t really have drinks other than cans of beer/gin that you can leave the restaurant with. I would have just preferred a glass of wine but this is being really picky on a small point. All in all - I was very impressed with the rooms, service and staff. We are already talking about going back when we pick the kids up from camp.

When I booked the resort I thought I would be travelling alone; however, my daughter decided to accompany me on the way to pick up our new puppy. The resort was perfect for me, an able minded person, but my daughter has mobility issues and uses a walker/canes so the facility wasn’t ideal for her needs. Nevertheless, staff was quite pleasant and helpful in ensuring her comfort- parking in front of room, suggestions regarding best way to enter restaurant and selecting best table for us to enjoy a delicious dinner and breakfast.Hats off to the restaurant chefs! We both loved the room and restaurant decor!

In a perfect world the resort would have one accessible room with wedge slope entry and accessible shower and easy access to restaurant and water.

The room and bathroom were really nice ~ liked the white & grey colours & artwork. Also liked that our room had a private deck area facing the lake. It was good to have a beverage station available anytime including a microwave.

I wish that decaf coffee had been available at the beverage station and dining room for breakfast. We had excellent service for breakfast ~ especially when she heated my apple juice on request when there was no decaf coffee available. Apparently I was the 2nd guest requesting it that week.

Amazing little gem of a resort! The staff was very accommodating to our arrival close to 8 pm (when the office closes). The server in the restaurant was so kind, patient and made sure to serve us a very nice dinner quickly so we had time to go for a paddle before it got too dark. The room was so beautiful, clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t want to leave and can hopefully return in the future and rent one of the cottages for a few days. Beautiful lake and peaceful too!

This is a beautiful, scenic resort set in a quiet area. A little difficult to find along the road because the sign is small and somewhat covered by trees but once you find it you never want to leave. Our cabin had its own dock., fantastic for enjoying the sunset and watching it rise again with a cup of coffee. We would definitely stay here again. We were only there for one night due to our travel schedule but would love to return for an entire week. We spoke to some other travelers who shared that they go there every year. We can understand why!

Never could get the internet to connect. Tried a few times but to be honest -- with the scenery and the comfort of the cabin -- didn't need it! The bed was a little small. It was only a double bed. The bedroom itself is small so there wasn't much space on either side of the bed between it and the walls.

The room was quiet a perfect place of calm , exactly as needed. Beautiful setting close to town and shopping. The staff was friendly, quiet and caring . The lake swimming was wonderful, clear water, great view up and down. The dragonflies kept the bugs at bay. Had an excellent breakfast , lasagna for dinner and hot brownie dessert ! There was no smoke all the way up from south of Toronto. Great places to sit and relax.

Perfect location, quiet, with great view! Staff was nice and always answered quickly to the messages we have sent them through Booking. The room was really cozy and well decorated. It had enough space for a queen size bed and a single bed for our son. There is coffee, milk and tea available for guests.

Unfortunatelly there were no meal options since we stayed here in low season. At least breakfast should be available since the lodge is 16km away from the nearest town - Bancroft, where we were able to get something to eat.

I enjoyed breakfast & accommodating us with our gluten free options. Staff very kind & helpful. I appreciated banisters & wide steps, lights & gravity chairs as I have mobility issues. Thank you

Unfortunately I didn’t read the fine print about booking through , booking, com. I was distressed about not being able to stay another night. Other resorts, hotels or motels are not helpful to people with mobility issues.

The view and location were sensational and the room was very clean. We enjoyed taking the canoe out on the lake and exploring. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Would definitely go back. The staff were friendly.

There were no instructions for the air conditioning and we were not able to reduce the heat so it became very hot during the night to the point that we needed to open the door. The breakfast (additional cost) was not great and the one person on duty was insufficient for the number of guests having breakfast at the same time.

The room was described as "lake view" and the view of the lake was beautiful. The staff was super friendly and willingly accommodated our late arrival. They showed interest in improving by asking for suggestions on food that they could offer to attract vegans. Our room was modern, well-maintained and very clean.

There was no place to eat in the room (other room types have tables), although one could eat on the balcony; and there was not much available for vegans in the bar, although they did ask how they could improve this. The room was not soundproof, and we could hear what people were saying in the hallway. The front door made quite a loud bang every time it closed, and our room was pretty close to it.
