Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Brandon, an IHG Hotel

We stayed in our own king room the first night, as we had an event to get ready for the next day. And then shared a 2 queen room the second night as a family. First impression was made the very friendly staff. We found the room well laid out, lots of space for luggage, clean and bright. We appreciated the black out curtains- they worked awesome! We all agreed the free breakfast was probably one of the best ones we have been offered. The hotel was very busy, but they kept the breakfast well stocked. There must have been a hockey conference, the little kids had the run of this place. I would say that was the one draw back. But the hotel did have signs posted and the constant storming of the halls did almost stop by 10 pm. There is a “sound privacy” door in the room, to give extra help with the hall noise not transferring into the room. I would 100% stay again. It was located right across from the Keystone Center, so very convenient for our needs. Restaurants within easy walking distance, but we chose to use our car as it was still chilly. Had a great couple of hours relaxing at the Blackwheat brewery, a 5 min drive away. Grabbed ice cream and specialty coffee at the local Forbidden Flavours shop, just a block away. Enjoyed dinner at Browns social house, a block in the other direction. Great weekend in Brandon.

Clean room, black out curtains, friendly check in, close to event we attended and comfortable bed and pillows.

A large number of families with small children left unattended to run halls well into the evening- regularly until 10pm and then a few times after… You could hear this in the halls outside the room and down the hallway, but also on the floor above. I would not recommended putting children on the upper floors, so when they run- they aren’t above quieter rooms? Maybe couples or those not part of ?hockey? tournament could be in a quieter section???

The daily breakfast was excellent. SO MANY choices. And very friendly staff to serve breakfast (including even when I was a bit late for the cut-off time but they happily found several options for me anyway).

The only problem was noise above my room on the first night of my stay. This hotel is clearly not a concrete structure and there was major noise transfer. I had to move up to another room on the top floor to sleep properly. But the hotel staff accommodated this request for me very easily and with a smile which I certainly appreciated. My recommendation is to book a top floor room if noise from neighbours keeps you awake.

Room was exceptional. Bed was comfortable. The desk and chair was comfortable to work at. Situated close to restaurants and stores.

Had my dog with me. There was nowhere to take her to do her business except a boulevard. There should be a dedicated area also some info on where in the city I could take her for some exercise. It just seems like “pet friendly” was an afterthought and not well thought out.

The hotel is new! Our room was large and clean and had AC. The large window had good screens ( black out and privacy). The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely bedding. There was a large TV, a small fridge, a microwave and a coffee/tea centre. The bathroom was very clean with a great shower that had full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We were allowed to have our cat there too which was convenient. The breakfast room was run well to allow for social distancing and there was a good amount of choice of food items. The hotel staff was very polite and friendly.

It would have been nice to have a seating area with two chairs in our room.

I was happy that this location still served a proper breakfast. They were the first hotel on my travels that allowed you to fill out a order card and turn it in with your breakfast preferences and the time you wanted it delivered to your room.

The fridge wasn’t working properly and my beverages went warm. Unfortunately, when I went to take them out then next morning for my long day of driving I had no cold water. But what upset me the most is when I called the front desk to inform them of the problem they didn’t even try to make it right. I am an IHG member and in the past if there was any kind of problem or mistake on the properties behalf they would offer you some points. I paid the most money for this Holiday in Express on my travels compared to all their other locations. So they should treat their loyalty members better. I would have given them a full 10 rating if this matter had been handled differently.

The beds were incredibly comfortable. Best hotel beds we've had in years. Breakfast was great. Food well cooked and hot.

Handicapped parking is in the wrong place. On the ends of the building with no immediate access to the interior. Should be moved to the east side of the building which has access to the elevators.

The room (king suite) was huge and super clean! The whole hotel was sparkling clean. The breakfast was nutritious and delicious-would've been nice if it was served until 10:30am perhaps instead of 9:30. The staff were really really nice as well! Overall one of the best hotel stay experiences we've ever had.

They are serving hot breakfast (despite of covid, but following protocols). Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Although the building was not properly insulated coz I complained about the other guest (from above my room) about a kid running and jumping at 11pm thru 12midnight, overall the stay was great. The gym and pool are open but you need to book it. No bottled water in the fridge anymore, you have to buy from the vending machine. toiletries are upon request and very comfortable bed. This is the only best hotel in Brandon, a little expensive but worth paying for.

Proper insulation of the room, I could hear other guests talking, opening and banging the doors and a kid jumping and running right above my room.

One of my favorite hotels to stay at, always clean and great breakfast

Overpriced due to event on in the city. Would have stayed somewhere cheaper if possible. The hotels regular nightly rate I think is excellent value
