The Bulldog Hotel

Loved the funky style but mainly we enjoyed a large room, super comfy bed and very clean, modern bathroom.

As no breakfast is provided and this is a mountain resort village with only one local shop, options were very limited for breakfast. We really needed either breakfast or minimal crockery just to make our own from the shop. There is a coffee machine and fridge but nothing else (kettle, cutlery, crockery) so not even a bowl of cereal was possible. Also be aware the shop closes at 18.00 and after that there is nothing at all without a long drive back to Vernon.

The location was great, right in the centre of the village, ski in ski out. Less than 2 mins from the gondi. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfy. The decor was a little tacky but overall it contributed to the good vibe of the place. The parking was right next to the hotel. Staff were friendly. Also there was a hot tub!

I would've liked breakfast included (no breakfast option in the hotel). Plus the hotel restaurant was closed (Tues, Wed) when I was staying there so I wasn't able to use my discount which was a shame. Maybe a free sticker or a discount on the memorabilia could've been a nice way to make up for this!

The location was absolutely amazing! The staff were very helpful and the room was incredibly comfortable. I don’t often use a hotel bath but this was so clean, I loved it! Having access to a hot tub as well as a storage room for my ski gear was a great addition.

It would’ve been great to have a microwave in the room (in addition to the coffee maker/kettle and fridge). It would’ve allowed a bit more flexibility if you didn’t want to eat out every night nor wanted to wander down to the lobby in your pjs.

The room I was in was clean, comfortable and furnished well. The hotel itself is right in the heart of all of the restaurants and shops, it was in a great location and has its own car park. I’d definitely stay here again :)

Just be mindful if you need groceries you will have to get them from Vernon which is about a 30 min drive from Silver Star (depending on how long you are staying, I believe Walmart deliver to the area). A taxi from Silver Star to Vernon is ~ $60.

Apartment with kitchen so no breakfast. Location was fantastic. We nordic skied from the door.

The electricity was off for 2+ hours every morning as BC Hydro was doing work. It would have been nice to know this prior to booking as they were informed a couple weeks in advance. In addition when the power was off there was no emergency power to show the exits. It was very dark in the hallways and down the stairs when getting in or out of the building during the power outages.

The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. We booked off-season and they actually called to make sure we knew local businesses were closed and there wouldn't be much to do. When we got there, the staff were so welcoming that they felt like friends.

Booking.com's system acted as a middle-man for communication the hotel, and I missed important check-in communication from the hotel until I downloaded the Booking.com app. I'll avoid using Booking.com in the future because of it. I've also found that Booking.com seems to make it difficult to contact the accomodation directly, for other places as well, and I presume its to increase the odds of people booking through Booking.com so they can charge their fees to the accomodation. I've actually recommended to friends that were going to start using it, to not do so. It's convenient because of its integration with Google, but besides that, for me, it has added annoyance to my bookings and stays.

The staff was fantastic, and it really made the whole process very easy. Even allowed us to take our time while leaving and made sure we had everything we needed. Will absolutely come back again and looking forward to it.

Toilet flow could be upgraded.

Located in the centre of the village. The music at the bar across the street was loud but they shut down at 8pm and everything was quiet after that. Nice big room, comfy bed and they also provided secure bike storage.

I would have liked a more secure lock for the door. The keys didn’t lock the deadbolt from the outside.

Amazing location. Could ski to door! Nicely decorated. Friendly Staff. Terrific hot tub. Plenty of towns

It would’ve been helpful to have a microwave and also a couple of plates, some knives and spoons.

We asked about the availability of a room with a kitchenette when arrived and the staff went out of their way to contact the owner of the room. Unfortunately the room wasn't pet friendly so it was unavailable but they made the effort and it was appreciated. The addition of a microwave, kettle and a toaster in our room would have made our stay much more convenient.

There is no luggage cart or sled available so pack your gear so you can carry it a little ways.
