Hilltop Inn - Salmon Arm

The pool was very refreshing but I would have liked to use the hot tub but the pool and hot tub both close at 10:00 and by the time we got back from supper it was 9:50. I think later hours should be in place. The room was clean and the king size bed was very comfortable, we had a very good sleep. There was plenty of chairs around the swimming pool to sit and soak up the sun when your not cooling off in the water and there are 2 hot tubs one at the pool area and the other on the second level.

Room was larger than expected, and it had a large bathroom. But to get to the pool. Directions weren't that clear. There was no change room or towels, just a bathroom, but the pool was nice. Hot tub was a little lacking, its jets didn't work properly. Back in the room, for a shower and you find, the bathtubs drain was broken, causing the water to back up around your feet. And your sleep was going to be on your back because the beds were so soft. But still, breakfast changed that mood, it was nice they'd opened up a restaurant for a serve yourself buffet included in the price. Value and comfort. 8/10.

I thought this hotel was great value and very cozy - we especially loved our room had no carpet! Also really liked the little patio! (We were in the side part of the hotel, not the main hotel. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely!

The shower was a bit awful; stand up shower and the water gets all over the floor. Also was bugs living in a crevice in the shower. I could live with that though. What was unbearable was the sound of banging within the walls ALL NIGHT. I think it is related to the air conditioning or something. It was terrible and would be the only reason I'd perhaps not stay there again.

The pool was great and the room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

When we booked our stay, The room description said "Featuring direct pool access, this poolside room offers garden and forest views. A kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker is provided. A cable TV and free Wi-Fi are included." From the description I thought we would be on the ground floor with a room that opened up right to the pool. But our room was up on the second floor with a pool view. So that was a bit disappointing.

The breakfast was excellent. Other sites "provide" complementary breakfasts, you guys deliver. The staff was extremely friendly and tried their best to ensure that the stay was good.

I know that it was off season so some services were not as good. Both rooms that we were in had issues that I reported to the front desk and they did their best to accomodate the inconveniences. It was unfortunate that the maintenance staff were not able to address the issues but, as I said, it was off season and they took the time off then to refresh for the peak season. We never felt that put out by any of the shortfallings.

The room was huge, it would be a really good option for a longer stay. Breakfast was really good, the eggs and sausages were warm and freshly-stocked. Staff were great and friendly and accommodated a bit of an early check-in. The trail right next to the property makes it really easy to enjoy the park and downtown by foot!

It seems like the property could use an update/refresh on the little things - paint, nicks/dings in the bathtub, etc. The beds were a lot softer than you'd expect but still comfortable - probably getting a little worn out. Too bad the pool wasn't open yet!

Everything at Hilltop was excellent, from check in, with Julie, to Devon in the morning , to Dot in the the great breakfast restaurant. Opposite the property is a lovely walk around the pond and lake, with nesting Canada Geese and Ducks. Also a delightful Japanese peace gate, given to Salmon Arm from their sister city in Japan. My wife and I are 73 and have travelled extensively, so when we are treated SO well in such a well appointed property, we want others to know. Everything was super at Hilltop Inn.

We only spent one night there as we were travelling. We were travelling with a small dog and the Inn was able to accommodate us with a pet friendly room. The free continental breakfast was very good . The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating . The bed was very comfortable. The room had a coffeemaker, microwave and fridge. We had a nice little patio area with chairs and a small table which in summer would overlook the outdoor pool.

There was soap scum at the back of the sink behind the taps in the bathroom, No counter space in the bathroom where I could set my curling iron, toothpaste or deodorant.

Breakfast was awesome. Staff were all great. Hot tub was perfect to relax at the end of the day but the locked bathrooms made for a long cold walk back to the room. Wish we were here when the pool was open.

Highway noise/engine retarder brakes. The vertical blinds were not very effective at keeping any light out. The cabinet for the coffee and the fridge is a bit annoying. would be easier if the doors were removed.

Pool was a hit with the kids! Nice spacious room. Good breakfast. Hotel is conveniently located just off the highway which is good as long as your room is not facing it (ours didn’t 👍🏼) staff was helpful and welcoming. Plenty of parking space. Short drive to beach.

Bed was a bit lumpy and not very comfortable. We found a small spider on the side of the bed.
