Love the activities they provided (games, ping pong, indoor pool), most of the staff was great to deal with. We had one waitress who we liked, and was friendly with my son, sneaking in some whip cream on his pancakes one morning, he lived it. Overall a great visit, and will consider them again for sure. My son and I did a polar bear dip at 6:30am before breakfast. Staff chuckled at the sight and we had a blast doing it, even though that water was COLD. Ghost town was great, especially like their little train ride they put together.
I understand the water activities are owned by another party, would have been better if they could somehow be included with the price. They also need a row boat...not a big fan of kayaks or paddle boards. ;)

We found it to be a perfect stop for an overnighter, clean and comfortable with a spectacular view of mountains and lake from the room. Initially, we had reserved a loft room but requested to be moved to a lower floor room as the loft was super hot and there is no AC. This was accommodated as was our request for rv parking and bike storage. The restaurant was good, even though we expected otherwise after reading some very negative reviews. Every staff member, from the front desk, housekeeping and food services that we encountered was pleasant and helpful.
Some areas on the property are looking a little derelict

I enjoyed my room, even though it wasn't one of the rooms directly overlooking the lake. However, those rooms had the sun shining directly into them, so I appreciated having a room on the side. I had a nice view of the centre garden and the beach area. It was lovely. The rooms do not have air conditioning, so this worked out well for me. I needed a place just for the night to rest well after travelling continuously for several weeks. I intend to return for a longer stay, visit the Ghost Town, rent one of the kayaks, and paddle around the small lake. The breakfast in the restaurant was very good.
I didn't like not having wifi internet in the rooms. I did buy extra data for my cell phone plan and used it as a hotspot for my laptop. However, it did add to the allover cost of my stay.

Extensive property, gardens and facilities more than adequate. Rooms overlooking the lake are really nice! Laundry costs 50c a load plus detergent. The Ghost Town next door was a lifesaver because we enjoyed a full day of rain.
The main road is very close by and quite noisy. Sleeping with an open door or window is hence somewhat louder than normal. The communal breakfast area was dirty and not cleaned all day. The food served at the diner next door is not to be recommended and the waitress rather inefficient and slow. WiFi is only available at a few central areas.

This hotel is gorgeous and the location is breathtaking regardless of being situated beside a highway (traffic was very minimal at night and did not disturb us even when sleeping with the sliding door open). The view from your personal patio is incredibly romantic. There is so much to explore within the château itself, every corner we turned we found another neat amenity like life-sized checkers, ping pong tables and library/sitting room. We adored all the little pieces of historical memorabilia sprinkled throughout the hotel and grounds, it made you feel you were in a different era. There is an oak spiral staircase off the library loft and a rod iron spiral staircase down into the indoor garden, both of which would make perfect settings for a bride to enter a small wedding. Every staff member we encountered were kind and incredibly helpful, giving us tips and recommendations for things to see and enjoy on the property. Visiting the adjacent “Ghost Town” and tiny train ride are an absolute must, but you will need a couple hours to enjoy the abundance of treasures in all the little buildings. Apparently there is a honeymoon suit with a rock wall shower! Plus, they produce their own electricity with a dedicated hydroelectric station. We are definitely coming back for a couple nights sans kiddos for our anniversary. As an added note, the coffee in the room and the restaurant is tasty.
The only note I have in the negative column is that the windows in the common areas were covered in a dusty film that made the place feel a bit like there was a layer of dust all around you when it was in fact a very clean facility. However, I will temper that criticism with the note that it is 2022 and the fact that this spectacular and historic hotel was able to make it through all the shut downs and restrictions of Covid travel mandates and the subsequent ongoing province wide staff shortages without shuttering its door like so many others is wonderful.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. I loved feeling like I could explore the hotel and ask questions. Still unsure if the blocked off areas are haunted or not. The ghost town was great. Love the swimming pool. The theme is great!
The hours of the restaurant weren’t great. The online menu didn’t match the restaraunts menu and that was disappointing. Not much selection on the breakfast menu. There isn’t really much else we didn’t like.

Totally bizarre hotel. If you're into quirky, this is the place for you. View is great. The historic "ghost town (it's not)" is kind of fun. And there's so much to explore there, that can take up much of a day.
Nestled between a major highway and a major train line, it's not exactly bathing in nature, but it's fine. The hotel seems tired, but that is sort of the appeal, to be honest. TV reception is dreadful, bring a book.

Beautiful location, I enjoyed the rustic feel of the place, and the lake water was cool and stunning to look at. Great area to stay in, and the beds were reasonably comfortable and easy to check in and out. Great value and worth the price. The ghost town was half off for staying in the hotel and is a must for any visitor. We spent a few hours inside and enjoyed every moment. There is an indoor hot tub & pool as well.
We went during the heat-warning issue, and the fan (no AC) only provided a little easement to the heat. It was colder outside in the halls than in our room during the night. Also, the hallways had a smell, but only in certain areas. The restaurant was okay but a bit expensive for the value. No internet in the rooms, and the TV only has four working channels, which is not great for relaxing before bed.

The property was part of the experience. Located on the edge of a beautiful lake, surrounded by mountains with a ghost town behind it. We could ask for a more exciting and relaxing place to stay. And a restaurant attached so no need to go find food.
It was a bit dated but that only adds to the charm. My only real concern was no air conditioning in any part of the Chalet and we were visiting in the middle of summer.

I've driven by the Chateau many times and always wondered about it, so I had to satisfy my curiosity and stay there. The hotel is a real blast from the past and delightfully eccentric, featuring unique architecture, a spectacular setting in a narrow valley with steep rock faces dotted with waterfalls, a beautiful courtyard garden and lake views, and a Titantic-themed pool room. And how many hotels feature a large, reconstructed ghost town? My young kids loved exploring it, and seeing the many antique cars and trains - it's a pretty amazing collection for one family's private museum. It was a really unique and fun experience (far more interesting than the generic motel we looked at in Revelstoke that was a similar price), and we'll have to come back again when the kids are older. Facilities were clean, and staff were friendly and helpful.
Our meal at the restaurant was pretty plain, and some might say that the rooms are dated, but I thought that just added to the time-warp charm of the place.
