This is a very pleasant hotel, well-appointed with comfortable beds and facilities. It's location in Battery Point, only a few minutes' walk from Salamanca Place and the attractions of the waterfront, is exceptional and was the main reason we chose this hotel, together with free car parking. Once you get used to the one-way street pattern in the town center, driving to different places was fairly easy, including the beautiful Botanic Gardens (highly recommended), Mt Wellington and trips out of town, including Bruny Island. We could have eaten in the hotel but decided to explore the offerings nearby, including the fantastic Jackman & McRoss Bakery in Hampden Rd for breakfasts (less than 10mins walk). From our room there were great views over the city and Mt Wellington, especially at sunset. The area of Battery Point is very attractive with beautifully restored properties and parks within an easy walk of the hotel. Being late springtime, the gardens were also spectacular. The historic section of the hotel, the Lenna mansion, was very nicely decorated and a very comfortable, spacious lounge occupied part of the ground floor together with the restaurant and reception areas. Very interesting display of the "Piners" timber boat in the central area of the modern extension where the hotel's rooms are located. Very easy to unload and load the car from the lowest level undercover area right outside the lifts.

Whilst no fault of the hotel, we arrived on a Saturday morning and had to negotiate all manner of road closures due to the weekly Salamanca Market as well as our unfamiliarity with the one-way streets and no-right-turn restrictions at crucial points on the main roads. Perhaps the hotel could provide some "Saturday access directions" for drivers unfamiliar with the area.

Lots to like. The location. So close to everything. No car needed. Brekky at top the hill in Battery Point. Beers in evening on Salamanca. The history of the original building. Stunning. The photographs on the walls of our room were a great connection. Access to stairs in the open plan made coming and going easy. The best location possible for exploring Hobart. Staff were super friendly and efficient.

For the price, Lenna is in the tricky spot.of staying current and upmarket. Our room, esp the bathroom, felt a bit tired and dated. The joined.together beds weren't 'seamless'. Defo a huge bed w great linens but that centre seam wasn't great. Inside the room, it feels a bit too "any hotel."

At 70 years old we like our breakfast but the breakfast tables were bare in the dining room, apart from salt & pepper. We were not late. We were given the menu when I asked for it but when we were eating the cereals that we ordered, the menu was removed. The staff were all male & didn't seem to care whether we were having a satisfactory breakfast experience or not. No one came to our table to enquire if we wanted anything else. We tried to get coffee from the machine but it wasn't working & there was no staff there to help. At checkout we paid for our cereals & went to a local restaurant for proper breakfasts.

This hotel is simply beautiful and in a fantastic location. The views were spectacular. Free car parking is a big bonus in Hobart, where parks are hard to come by and expensive. The room was comfortable and had the things that we needed. The Nespresso machine was welcome and the bar downstairs was a lovely bonus.

I feel that the bed could do with a pillow-top as it was a bit hard for me. The Nespresso milk frother is a problem - it's almost impossible to clean (design fault), posing a health risk. A cleaning cloth in the room would have been very useful to allow us to at least try to clean it out.

The location was perfect! We only had one night in central Hobart so we purposely chose Lenna to be within walking distance to Salamanca Markets, a huge range of bars, restaurants and cafes. Lenna is tucked behind Salamanca Pl so it is away from the noise but only a corner away from all the life! We like a change from the modern, so Lenna was great because it has the charm of the original building adjoined with a more updated section for most of the hotel rooms. Our room with garden view was in the new section and it was large, with a comfortable sofa, small dining table and king size bed. The bathroom was also large and bright. The view looks down onto the well-kept, pretty garden and there was a glimpse of Hobart Harbour. There was a charming, small, quiet lounge bar and the breakfast was delicious. The service was friendly and exceptional. Particularly appreciated the reading light above the bed.

The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear next door.

Very warm and comfortable room, big bed, and loved having a sofa. Beautiful views with windows that open to let in fresh air. Lovely surrounds and brilliant location: safe and within easy walking distance of the city and the wharf. Good to be able to park the hire car free of charge.

It wasn't the hotel's fault but for 2 consecutive nights I had screaming children in rooms either side of me. I'm talking 3-4 hours of tantrums. Ear plugs no use at all. I guess it was just unlucky but it was a bit of a downer for a solo traveller like me who hasn't had a holiday for a while and was looking for a restful break. I know nothing is perfectly quiet but maybe there could be a suite of adjacent rooms for either families with young children or people looking for some peace so they don't bug each other.

The Lenna of Hobart is an exceptional place to stay. We loved its history, the location on the edge of Battery Point - an easy walk to many fine restaurants and historical sites as well as the harbour. The view from our room was an unexpected bonus - yes we had the view over Princess Park but also to the water which was lovely. The staff were without fail polite, friendly and helpful. The bar area is charming and the lookout from the top of the main building a great adventure.

The pod coffee machine in the breakfast room needs a service as it could only produce lukewarm offerings but the breakfast itself was delicious.

We booked here last minute and we are so glad we did!! The location is very central and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, the port, and historic battery point. The room overlooked the bay and the stunning gardens. The room was large and very comfortable with everything you could need. The shower in our room was amazing! The building itself is a stunning historic building and the hotel celebrates that by showcasing the glorious times it has seen. We enjoyed a drink in the bar under the old chandelier, sitting on comfy couches by the fire marveling at the architecture and design. We only had one night here which is definitely not enough. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

beautiful period character in the main entrance building, and the accommodation wing is new so rooms have up to date facilities. we were grateful for the lift up to the bedrooms from the car park. very helpful staff. it’s very close to Salamanca Place and Battery Point but the area is very steep so walking may not be possible.

it’s not friendly for people who can’t manage stairs, and you can’t get from reception to bedrooms without several steps, so be prepared! I wasn’t. reception staff told me they have another property very close by that is suitable for people with mobility issues.

I loved the view, rooms were spacious and in winter, the floor heating in the bathroom was a lovely surprise (it is automated by the hotel I am told). I didn’t even need to use the ac to heat the room. Service was excellent and personalised, especially in the lounge/bar. Breakfast was lovely (I pre-ordered a smashed avo because I wanted to eat late). I loved the open air design of the corridors and the old building (where reception, lounge and Brekky are) is quite famous and the tower is part of the battery point walking tour, though guests can make their way up there anytime.

The interiors of the room could use a facelift. I did feel as if the linens made up for this, but adding robes would also be a nice touch.
