Citysider Cairns Holiday Apartments

it was clean; nice swimming pool; covered parking; comfortable beds; full set of kitchen equipment (except of coffee maker); good dishwasher

railway just outside the window; there is no coffee maker (booking says it is there, but not really); there was no any salt, oil, sugar and so on, nothing from the very basics (so you have to buy everything from scratch); tv remote control did not work because of old batteries; small ants on the kitchen

Good location as we had a hire car. Beds where really comfy and check in was good by the owner as we had to check in after hours which was a quick and easy process. The apartments were quiet and had everything we needed for our 5day stay in cairns. Secured car park which makes parking easy and close to all the shops by car.

Stayed for 5 days and on the last day the air con started leaking water onto the bed. The only minor downside is the building is located next to the train line so every morning you can hear the trains passing.

Breakfast wasn't a part of the deal but there were good cooking facilities and a nice BBQ by the pool (and toilets and a shower as well). Having multiple bedrooms was great, and a private balcony. Our wishes were granted about having a quiet room. Matthew made sure that we were looked after. Everything was clean and functional. Location was pretty good too - we didn't hire a car, just the occasional Uber but mostly walked to the city - night markets, marina etc.

It was only a short stay for us - 5 days, so the starter pack (2 toilet rolls, 5 coffees etc.) didn't make it, but we got by.

The rooms and beds were comfortable.

Office hour were very short. Never there when you wanted them. Also never answered the phone when you rang. Fire Alarm in room was faulty. Went of at 12.25am in morning for no reason. Scared us , no one came to investgate it finally after about 5 min it went of by itself. We had no clue what to do. Matness was called in day latter as it took time to contact manager. Not enough toilet paper for 5 nights. Used same towels all week as they were not replaced.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, giving lots of information about the local area. Apartment was huge with a full kitchen, plenty of space for 4 adults or more. Pool area was gorgeous and very relaxing and the beds were comfortable.

Bathroom was massive and had a power shower but this meant the bathroom floor was covered in water after each shower due to a small shower screen. Tiny bugs in the kitchen meant we couldn't leave anything on the counters, even covered over.

Matthew the host very friendly helpful person . Told Matthew were are a couple of old guys and could he possibly put us on a ground floor or first floor ,he accommodated us with ground floor and very nice 2 bedroom unit .. Thank you ..

Nice one bedroom ground floor apartment in a secure complex Full facilities, oven, hob, toaster, coffee making facilities, laundry facilities also available in the bathroom. Pool on site, as well as the option to book trips. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly Location, ok, but a little out from town, nearest pub about 25 min walk.

Room a little dark due to being on the ground floor and surrounded by trees and shrubs. Air con in lounge very noisy.

Citysider is located just a short walk from the main shopping centre in Cairns. The apartment was very clean and was well equipped. Matthew and Cara were very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. The vegetation around the pool area was well maintained as was the pool.

We were in a front apartment so there was some traffic noise.

Matt was very friendly and nothing was a problem. He went out of his way to try to find a rental car during our stay of 6 days The apartment was clean and had all necessary equipment for a pleasant stay. Thanks Matt.

My only comment would be that the lounge is in need of refurbishment or replacement however I do understand that covid has had a major impact on visitor numbers with a consequent decrease in income.

Room as was clean and ideally set out. Great facilities with nice pool and BBQ area. Matthew the Manager was exceptional. His friendly attitude, knowledge of the area and willingness to help out was outstanding, cannot fault. He made the stay even better and would have no hesitation in recommending.

All was great and no real complaints. Biggest complaint was that I had to go home.
