Waterfront Hotel

The hotel was very clean and the facilities in general were neat. Breakfast was okay. No tags on anything so those with food allergies or dietary restrictions would not know what contains what. Fresh fruits for breakfast. Clean, spacious rooms and bathroom. Within walkable distance to the city center and a nearby park, Villa Louis, and the Doussman House. Staff was great!

No veggies for breakfast at all. Not very diabetes, gluten-free, or vegetarian-friendly. Maybe communicating with the hotel in advance (in case you have any dietary restrictions) would be a good idea. Very few savory options for breakfast, lots of sweets. No place to hang the hand towel in the bathroom.

Liked that there was a complete breakfast and not just the continental type. Food was good. Loved the cookies and popcorn in the afternoons. The room was clean, comfortable, roomy and well appointed. Also, we loved the bar/restaurant there as there is weekend entertainment, decent food, service and it overlooks the Mississippi River.

Can't really say what was so bad about this hotel. The only thing that was annoying was that I could not keep the bathroom door open. Would always close automatically.

Very pleasant evening/overnight at the Waterfront Hotel. We typically stay at other hotels in Prairie du chien but thought we would finally give this one a try. We enjoyed it. Very nice hotel, comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent. Great having the bar/restaurant on site and just down the hall from us. Evening entertainment was fun (I believe on weekends through the summer they have music). Enjoyed our time there. Would have liked another day but had to get back home for other commitments.

Bed very comfortable, we faced river side and view was pleasant, and convenient to main street area of Prairie du Chien and to highways. Staff was friendly.

Took three attempts to give us a key that would gain room entry. Breakfast over-hyped by other reviews in my opinion, was a slightly better than average free Hotel breakfast. Hotel still using COVID as excuse for not providing maid service in Sept 2023 every day.

The coffee was good. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. Nothing to write home about.

The room was extremely dark at night. The bathroom door was heavy, and would always slam shut. When using the restroom at night, the door slammed shut, and the only light to turn on was the extremely bright lights in the restroom. Some sort of night light in there would be helpful.

Location was perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Bed was comfy. View was as promised. Continental breakfast had lots of options. Coffee was awesome, should have asked where I could buy some.

The sitting chairs in the room were not very comfortable. It left us sitting on the bed which wasn't ideal. I know allot of people don't spend time in the room, but it would be nice to have a better sitting area for those of us who do.

Everything from the helpful cheery staff, the hot and delicious breakfast, comfortable bar on second floor.

A minor irritation.....the A/C was very loud. At first I thought it was traffic outside, but a glance out of the window showed no cars at 3.30am. Maybe there was a glitch as I hadn't noticed it on the first night.

A nice bar within the hotel and easy access to downtown. The entertainment at the hotel/bar for Friday and Saturday night was very good.

The bathtub drain in our room was clogged, by time I was done taking my shower the water was up past my ankles. We did not report it on Saturday because we were going to be gone all day and did not want anyone in our room without us there. We did tell the front desk when we checked out.

The room was clean and comfortable. The coffee was excellent. We enjoyed the popcorn and ice cream

The down blanket on the bed was very comfortable however was way too hot even with the air conditioning set at 68. It was disappointing the restaurant/bar was closed on Monday.

Great location and privately owned place! Super clean and well taken care of! Coffee,cookies,popcorn, apple cider upon arrival in lobby and super friendly staff.

The restaurant was great but the chairs are really uncomfortable and cheap...especially for older people.
