Holiday Inn Express and Suites South Hill, an IHG Hotel

My daughter and I came to stay so we could make it to an appointment early the next morning. When we got there the guy working the front desk was super nice and friendly. Our room was very comfortable. We got to enjoy the pool as well. Both my daughter and I did not want to leave the next morning.

I found someone's Subway cup with straw in the fridge as well as an opened Gatorade. It was kind of difficult to fall asleep with the noise from the truck stop that was so close to our side of the hotel. Also the toilet kept running. I did have to wash clothes while there which the one dryer ate over 10.00 worth of quarters. (It wasn't drying like it should) I ended up switching dryers. I spoke to the girl who was working after 11 PM and she didn't seem too concerned about it.

We arrived after 10 pm, and the front desk clerk at that time was wonderful! Location was good, very convenient from the highway, yet still quiet. Plenty of parking. I liked that there were bright lights in the parking lot, I felt my car was safe. Everything seemed clean and recently renovated.

The bed was a little too soft for my taste. The water pressure on the fourth floor was weak.

The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable.

The lady working the desk at night wasn’t very knowledgeable. She was nice but it was apparent she didn’t know policies or how to make adjustments. I asked could I pay with a different card than I used for booking and she said no. My husband tried to charge some snacks to our room and she said we couldn’t. The person working the desk the next morning was able to accommodate us, so all was well.

It was very clean staff was very nice. I will be coming back

I wish you'll had later check out. I cone down to see a friend and the first time I stayed I had to pay for a hold extra night just because I was not leaving till 3:00pm. That was the only thing

The breakfast could have been more and different items offered every day. However, during this pandemic a lot of things are not available so I understand that. I loved that the fitness room was 24 hours.

I wished there was an option for housekeeping to come later in the day for late sleepers.

I was disappointed at breakfast because other guest was picking thing up and putting back. Because of covid, I think things would have been handled more sanitary. The serving utensils were used by guest and put back on food tray for other guest to use.

The staff was great

When we arrived our 2 Queen bed room was not cleaned. We had to take a King bed room with a couch. The couch was not very comfortable to have to sleep on for 2 nights.

The front desk staff was Awesome very helpful and friendly. The young lady who prepared the food was very nice and even the housekeeping staff were great.I really enjoyed my stay and will stay there again.

The quitess hotel ever...ac didn't click, couldn't hear other toilets flush, or even doors shut in the hall, seriously couldn't even hear the cars outside...the bed and linens were so comfy I am mad at my own bed right now...Our son the human alarm clock stuck on 7:30am...slept till 9:30!!! We will def stay there every time we visit Kerr Lake!

I'm always so blown away by the cleanliness and decorative rooms when staying at the holiday inn express. Last time we stayed at best western and I was disappointed by the room, darker and more basic. I love the modern style, comfortable extra furniture, beautiful bathrooms. Friendly staff and cleaning crew as well.

Ithink it was great for the facing a pandemic- the staff at the front when we checked in spoke down regarding the breakfast sandwiches. It made me pretty sad since this stop was part of our honeymoon. We figured we'd give it a try anyway and I think it was not as bad as advertised. It was a nice staff member serving, and the breakfast sandwich was fine with many more options than I expected (whole fruit, yogurt, coffee, milk & cereal). I wish when I checked in that the breakfast was spoken down upon.
