Comfort Inn Roanoke Civic Center

The location was convenient to Roanoke College and downtown Roanoke. The room was clean. The parking was sufficient. The staff was very professional and went out of way to offer help when they saw a need. The breakfast room/buffet area was clean, well managed, well stocked. The water pressure was excellent. The pre-check in communication was excellent as was the check-in experience.

People had definitely smoked/were definitely smoking tobacco cigarettes/weed in the hotel. I really struggled with smoke smell in room-- had to literally cover my head with my blanket when trying to sleep in order to get away from the smell. Other family members were in an adjacent room and did not have that problem. I didn't complain because these days people are nuts, and I didn't want to risk any retaliation. I had the same concern for the hotel staff. Sad, but true. The hotel was adjacent to a rougher area-- some in my party were concerned about our cars being broken into, etc., but really there was no problem in this regard at all.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. We got pinched by some flight cancellations and needed a place to stay. They provided us with a safe place to store our bags while getting our room ready, an early check in, a safe place to store our bags after checkout, friendly greetings, breakfast before checking in, and insights on restaurants and places to visit in the surrounding area. They went above and beyond and truly treated us like family.

There was nothing to dislike. Everything exceeded our expectations. We'll stay here again.

Our room was clean, the people which are working there seems friendly and nice, they help us every time when we request help, is was a good stay for us.

Very clean hotel with a convenient location. The room was a nice size and had an updated bathroom and a comfortable bed. I checked in at 11:30pm and was out of there by 7:30am, so did not get to experience breakfast, but took an apple, some yogurt and coffee for the road. They had a waffle maker and other breakfast items if you have time. The staff was very friendly.

The bathroom fan was very loud and came on when the bathroom light was on. Some traffic noise and no view because the hotel is right off of 460.

I don’t know where to start, I’m amazed by the above and beyond quality and hospitality of the whole team here at Comfort Inn Roanoke, on our way to Texas from VA we had a car accident and my family were hospitalized and I had to take a hotel room, from day one Mrs. Mita Dave, was very supportive she checked me in early coz me and my 7y old didn’t sleep for 24 hours, she used to check on us every morning asking about my family, Glenda and Shannon were very kinda and supportive as well, if you are looking for kindness and manners this is one of the best hotel in town to stay in. Location: is very convenient , 5 min from the airport, 5 min from Walmart and Roanoke memorial hospital. Room: super clean and quite , spacious. Food: very delicious, fresh and multiple options available at the restaurant during Breakfast time. it’s unusual for me to leave a review, but you guys changed our experience from horrible to fabulous. thank you Mita, Glenda & Shannon.

By far, our favorite part was the shower pressure. It was unbelievable, especially for a hotel. It was also wonderful having a real breakfast with plenty of choices, waffles, toast, cereal, yogurt, apples, sausages, scrambled eggs, juices, tea, coffee and more. Pool was small but we still enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Although the hotel is supposed to be 100% smoke free our room had been previously smoked in. Not a big deal, but neither of the ice machines worked that I tried to use to get some ice for the car before we left for home. That was the only time I tried them. They may have been working before that.

It was quiet

Cancellation policy as I tried to cancel at 7 am in Wednesday which was well before the 48 hours cancellation but it was really the beginning if the day so I missed it by 7 hours and had to pay for Friday and Saturday when I couldn’t not make it down Friday night which I didn’t know until late Tuesday and I thought I had until 3 pm Wednesday to cancel but it is really 63 hours to cancel. The hotel was completely booked both nights and probably could have booked my room for Friday night if they had been willing to try.

Usual Comfort Inn facilities except it was a handicap room. Breakfast was fine. The staff allowed an early heck-in as the room was ready.

Small issues really, maintenance can address easily. Water in commode too high. I had to fiddle to get the shower head adjusted to spray in the right direction steadily. Room too small for 3 persons traveling for a month (not enough adequate room for luggage.

Wonderful hotel. Clean, comfortable. Looks almost like a brand new hotel. Price was reasonable and the location is convenient to both the Jefferson Center and Berglund Center, where we have dance comps. The ladies at the front desk/ breakfast room were very friendly and helpful.

Need more AC outlets on the nightstand. The juice that came out of the machine at breakfast tasted "bleachy". Was disappointed that hot breakfast has not started back up yet.

It's relatively close to the heart of downtown, you can walk it if you have to. Not as nice as Hotel Roanoke or Doubletree, but half the price of either on this particular weekend. Definitely a step up from the "budget" motels in the same area, and worth the extra money over that choice.

"Breakfast" was a joke. Just tell people that there's crappy coffee available and knock ten bucks off the price of the rooms.
