Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rockport - Bay View, an IHG Hotel

The beds are super comfortable. The location was great. Everything was very clean. The rooms were a great size for 4. The air worked great! The room was very nice and comfy. 2 tvs and a small living space. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend.

The breakfast was just eh. The cheese omelets are good and bacon. We never saw cinnamon rolls, French toast like the website said. The pancake machine takes a long time to make a pancake. Maybe waffle makers would be better. The worst part was the juices. It was like they watered them down big time. There is still a good selection of foods. We went during spring break so it was busy at breakfast. Go early bc by 9 everything was running out.

The location was good for to the Whooping Crane birding activities that were in Lamar and Rockport. The bed was decent, but comfort would have been better if there were extra pillows in the room. We liked that the room had a safe in it.

The lack of plants in the planters and general lack of grounds maintenance made the place depressing. Just a plant or two in the large pots would have made a difference. Additionally, smokers have been throwing their cigarettes on the ground (which they shouldn't do), but when there are not any receptacles, the smokers will continue to throw their spent cigarettes on the ground. The sofa in the room that we stayed in had a quarter size make-up looking stain. We notified the front desk as soon as we saw it. We didn't ask for a different room because we had been told that we got the last one. Parking was a bit tight, and some were parking in handicap parking that didn't have handicap hang tags.

I had never seen or heard of a pancake machine. The machine put out 2 pancakes in 1 minute. There was a good assortment of muffins, bagels , with different ways that the eggs were cooked, there was 3 brands of ceral . There was many other things and the employee taking care of the breakfast was helpful and friendly. The area was kept clean.

It was no fault of the Hotel, but the city of rockport lost wifi and the local area lost cable.

very clean, friendly helpful staff. I love that they had large bottles of hand soap? body wash, shampoo & conditioner. we normally pack these item however we were in a hurry to make it to check in and I forgot my bag. these was an incredibly convenient for us. we always love to stay with Holiday Inn

there was only one washer and dryer but aside from that we ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR STAY!

I loved everything but I heard that there were cheaper rates around the way but I was ok because I love the cleanliness and the staff was very nice and helpful.

THE PARKING SITUATION WAS THE WORST ... SORRY There was no where for us to park and we did not want to park at the hotel next door we did not want to get towed. Also need at least 2 people checking in and checking out.

The breakfast was convenient and I loved the selections. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved the location and will probably stay there again in Sept.

I had difficulty with booking.com... they failed to change the reservations as we requested and we arrived at the hotel with no reservations. The staff assured us that they would take care of us and they did. I am still waiting on booking.com to send me a refund.

Our room was nice and cold. Loved the shades on the window. Nice linens and pillows on the beds. The beds were comfortable. Towels were soft and fluffy. Hot water was plentiful. Room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job with daily requests. Front desk staff were friendly and greeted us each time entered the lobby.

The pool could've been cleaner. There was algae growing by the steps and had stuff floating in the water and on bottom of the deep end.. Cereal, milk, and yogurt were the only foods offered during breakfast 915 am on Friday as other foods and fresh fruits had run out. A menu should be posted so guests don't have to guess and ask what is available. I am not intimidated to ask but some are and the items are not visible from the doorway. Nor did the staff offer other than a few of the basics unless asked specifically. Amenities like toothbrushes should be available to guests( we asked for one and none were available), if needed. Conditioner and lotion were not available in our room. Luckily we had our own.

They were unable to provide a a ground level floor as requested. There was no shower curtain and no hairdryer and was told they did not have any spare hairdryers. The hotel was not filled to capacity by a long shot and the could have provided me a hairdryer from one of the many vacant rooms.

Front desk personnel was not familiar with Booking reservations. Room was booked for spouse and immediate family member. All info was noted in Booking reservation. Spouse info was on file & received emails, but front desk personnel had to call supervisor to get assistance even though room was paid ahead of time and all info was provided at time of booking reservation.

Breakfast & location were good. I like that they served breakfast until 10:30.

The room was nice but the remodle could have been done better. The drywall and paint job was a bit inferior. You could easily see the old light fixture cut out ect....attention to detail would have been nice after going to the trouble of remodeling.
