Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach

Only negative was our AC did not work. We check in July 4th, and it was hot, hot, hot outside. Once we got to our room, we quickly unpacked our gear, charging our various items to prepare for our scuba diving trip the next day. I noticed it was hot in the room, so I adjusted the wall thermostat and thought maybe it would just take a little time to cool down. An hour later, it was still 76 degrees. I called the front desk, and Ryan told me there wasn't much he could do at this point. Kudos to him for offering to switch us to a different room. But since we were unpacked and charging our equipment, we made the decision to stay in the hot room. Instead of repacking, moving to another room, then unpacking again. The room was a bit pricy, $300 a night, but it was a Holiday, so that probably explains the price hike.

Sorry - I got the likes and dislikes switched. Loved the pool. It was very refreshing considering our room was so warm. The hotel is located about a mile from the marina where we were to board our dive boat. It was close to the dive shop, Aquatic Safaris. Walking distance to the grocery store and several restaurants.

Hands down the best experience was Christine the very sweet, kind, with amazing patience young lady that worked the front desk. She was truly amazing and apologetic, even though she had nothing to do with that. And Bar tender was good, drinks were on point.

First starts of with One of the beds had not been made, when we pulled back the comforter the sheets were crumbled and pulled to the end, the pillows literally still had the head print of whoever slept in it and hair on the sheets. The bathroom had also not been attended to once we compared it to the second room/ bathroom we were moved to, Second room just felt fresher. Breakfast? was beyond disappointing everything was uncovered and cold and we were extremely disturbed that the older woman working that area used no gloves and literally bare handed grabbed the last two omelets from one tray to transfer to the other. WHAT!!!! This was an interesting mouth dropping experience.

I really thought the property and inside of the hotel was nice! Everything was very clean and tidy at all times, staff were friendly and helpful whenever I needed them.

The room doors slam/don't allow you to close them quietly. Despite my best efforts, it was hard to not slam it shut to ensure that it closed. This in turn caused a lot of noise in my room at night when trying to go to bed. Luckily, I had a sound machine that helped, but certainly didn't drown it out completely.

Great to have a fully open breakfast buffet with a breakfast area where guests can eat, very comfortable room, hotel next to nature path that leads to the harbor

No desk or table in room and only one chair, difficult to work on laptop

Bed was supposed to be queen-sized, and two were provided for three adults. Well, this queen must have ruled over a kingdom of very thin, possibly emaciated, people, as there was no way two people could fit into a bed. Need bigger beds, or stop misleading guests in your ad. Breakfast was very good, and Dee was the most hospitable person in the hotel.

Beds, beds, beds. Location wasn't great either, close (driving distance) to a beach, but far from downtown.

Staff friendly, rooms clean Unfortunately our rental car got a key job in side parking lot. Reported it to the front desk to Brenda to see if there were surveillance cameras in parking lot. She said cameras only at the entrance. We did purchase rental car insurance through Travelguard. Very nice clean hotel. Carole McCormick

We had a brief one night stay but the room was clean and comfortable and reasonably sized for 4 adults. The included breakfast had some variety which was welcomed having been away for a while. Over all comfortable, clean and the bar staff were excellent

Not much to add here. We didn't get to use the pool which looked amazing but we had plans and needed to leave early the next day. Maybe next time we will get a chance to spend more time here.

It was a lovely setting, rather cozy style to the whole place. The room was not large, but was perfectly sized for a couple! The bed was very comfy and the walk in shower was spot-on for size. Breakfast was served up with a smile and everything was fresh and tasty. Shout out to Kristen and Hailey who were at the desk when we checked in. Very friendly and professional! They had very good answers for our "tourist" questions! Overall a very great stay!

Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Compared with other comparable hotels, the 'free' breakfast at Hampton Inn & Suites at Wrightsville Beach exceeded my expectations. A wide variety of hot and cold meal selections together with excellent coffee.

Room Maintenance: More attention required in terms of the cooling & ventilation system. During the first night, the cooling system several times just shut-down then would start-up again while making strange sounds. Other times, seemed like the unit was running continuously to cool the room in order to sleep. Checked filters (2) the next morning. Didn't look like they were cleaned for a VERY Long Time. Extremely thick dust/filtered particles had to be brushed off the filters and replaced. Unit presented no problems afterwards; cooled the room without running continuously. If it weren't for this, my Overall Stay would have an Awesome 9 - Rating.

I liked everything. Staff is great! Loved the workout room!

ONLY issue I had & its happened both times I have stayed there is my money being pulled put a 2nd time at checkout. It doesnt actually go out but it sits as pending for at least a week. Which causes issues!
