Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Statesville

The outside is a bit run down. Looks like it could be a little shady….but there are bright lights in the parking lot and I felt safe

When I went to check in, the man at the desk told me they don’t let people stay there if the address on their license is within 60 miles of the hotel…..booking.com didn’t advise me of that nor did the hotel in their information. I also had to pay a $50 deposit that is going to take 30 days to go back my card. If they don’t rent locally, they should advise of that

The location was easy to find. We slept through breakfast, but it looked tasty! The staff was very nice.

The room I booked online was confirmed. I got a message on my phone as I pulled into the parking lot that someone at the property booked...the website said that there were 3 of the rooms I had chosen. The front desk agent was kind enough to match the price of the room. It looked like some renovations where done in the guest rooms and some of the property, but haven't been completed. The elevator had not been inspected since 2021 and some of the roof of the elevator was missing (it was not very inviting as it was the one of the first things the guest sees. )

I loved the modular furniture in the room! Open shelves/cubbies and hooks/bar for hanging. There was also a padded window seat. The beds were comfy, and we got a good night's sleep. For us, this was just a place to stop on the way home, but we liked it so much that we would definitely stay on our next trip north. Also, turns out the breakfast is free!

The towels were small and limited in quantity. I am pretty sure a brillo pad would have been softer. Also, our towels had a few stains that made them look less than clean. We would have loved a non-pork breakfast option (even just eggs).

The staff was very friendly upon check in. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. It was close to our work location so that was an added bonus and the cost per night was very economical.

We were not crazy about the breakfast items that were served each day. The sausage gravy was cold and the breakfast bagels were not cooked thoroughly. But overall the stay itself was enjoyable and we would definitely stay again.

The beds were very comfortable and the pillows.

The toilets are way too short. I feel like I'm in Kindergarten again when I sit on them. Being a senior, it's hard to get up and down on them. It would also be nice if the shower had grab bars to get in and out plus some kind of may on the bathtub floor. I'm not very stay on my feet anymore and I'm afraid of slipping.

It was a wonderful place to stay, clean, nice continental breakfast. Ice machines worked.

Only reason the hotel didn't receive a perfect ten is we only had 2 sets of towels asked for a 3rd set and were told they were none clean. Not sure what the issue was, but there was something amiss don't know if it was a company providing it or their facilities equipment.

Breakfast was offered as well as coffee. Room was comfortable, clean and what we needed. Beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept on. We traveled late and checked in at 11pm and the person checking us in was sweet and got us checked in quickly.

More pillows on the king size bed, 3 were offered but I am a pillow hog so I had 2 and my boyfriend ended up with 1.

I booked after pulling off the road for the night. Check in staff was super friendly. My room was clean and had all amenities - micro, mini refrig, coffee maker, hair drier, nice quality soap / shampoo. The bed was comfortable, the property was quiet. I would stay here again.

The only working ice machine was on the third floor.

I asked for and was given a quiet room. The bed and pile of pillows was very comfortable and cozy and everything in the room and building was neat and clean. I had a take out dinner from the most excellent and authentic Mexican restaurant just across the road - try it!

Reception people were friendly and helpful.. The room was clean. Bed very comfortable.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. Only hot thing was waffles. It was adequate but no eggs, sausage/bacon. Usually at least biscuits and gravy? Maybe the breakfast person was out? Hard to judge just a one night stay.
