Rev. Jim was an absolute sweetheart and a great host. He was very generous and helped us get into the town by driving us because we didn’t rent a car- which definitely saved us some money but also was nice to see the town that way- and he also let us know we could visit the Blue Barn, where we had breakfast in the morning. The property blew me away it was so beautiful and also eclectic and unique with statues, flowers, and a running creek/waterfall right on the property. The room was very pretty & comfy and I felt safe there. We will definitely return!!! My partners birthday went perfectly. Thank you!!!!

Our stay at Beacon Hermitage was so special. It was lovely to be greeted by such a kind and welcoming host. The little touches he added - like a birthday cupcake for my wife's birthday or hot cider for the chillier days - made it even more memorable. We went with our small, shy dog who was welcomed and loved on by the hosts. I think he really came out of his shell by being there! The house is beautifully decorated with art and comfy furniture, so we enjoyed cozy breakfasts in the dining room and reading books in the lounge. Our room was also great for watching a movie and vegging out, with an awesome view of tree-covered hills. The microwave and fridge in the room's closet was especially helpful when we wanted to snack on leftovers. The bathroom is shared, but we were the only guests at the time, but had no trouble storing our toiletries in our room since there is plenty of room in the closet as well as a dresser and mirror in the room. The gardens are equally decorated and expansive, leading to various places to sit and enjoy the sun and even a longer trail. The b+b is a short and straight-forward drive from Beacon and Cold Spring and we had no problem driving into town to explore and eat. We can't wait to visit in the Summer!

Special, special place! Very comfortable, warm feel to this house, and filled with interesting art! Loved my room, the blue barn, the garden, the Highlands. More than anything, Jim is a stupendously great person and host imho. I’m somewhat of a reserved individual, so it was great to have some quiet time alongside such lovely and generous company. Also went out of his way numerous times to make this feel as comfortable as home (thank you for that hot cider sir!) Looking forward to a chance to come back! Cheers 🔮

The room was spotless, as was the bathroom - Jim cleaned it more than once a day! The gardens that crafted outdoors were beautiful to sit and drink a coffee in, in the morning. Jim even showed us to the amazing waterfall close by to take a dip in first thing! We arrived by train, spent a lovely afternoon and evening in Beacon at amazing DIA gallery and at the great eating and drinking spots Jim and Joe had recommended and then took a cheap Uber to the place from town. Next morning we walked back to Beacon along some of the amazing trails you can access right from the house. Breakfast is simple but Jim was so kind, making angie Sottish tea especially! Jim is a great host - Joe was away at the time - and was so helpful and thoughtful. He even dropped us to the train for our return journey! Go spend a few days, unwind and take in the beauty of Beacon Hermitage. ❤️❤️

very little, maybe the ill judged walk back along the highway on our second night as it was getting dark. 🤦‍♂️

Location was perfect, just five minutes from downtown Beacon's Main Street. Jim, the owner, could not be more lovely and personable. The other guests were lovely and low-key, and overall, the stay was a calm, pleasurable beginning and end to our jam-packed days.

Most people would probably say this is a giant plus, but it was VERY QUIET! Coming from NYC is was almost too quiet for me :)

Joe and Jim are the sweetest couple .. the house is super old 1800’s and quirky, lots of art and antiques fill the home and incredible garden which really made it so unique and special. The gardens are truly a work of art in itself, filled with sculptures, works of art, and flowers and trees of every kind you could Imagine. I was so envious of Jim’s gardening skills I had to inquire on his extensive knowledge… and he even gave me some Plants to grow! We so enjoyed sitting outside having coffee with Jim & joe with their cute pups and having great conversations about life, live, living and connecting on the real things that are important. Thank you for a special weekend guys, we will cherish this place and your hospitality for years to come 💕 hope to meet again some day! 😘😘😘

Jim & Joe were very welcoming when we arrived and they were very informative during our stay. Very comfortable bed, wonderful art on the walls, exceptional garden (Bring some bug repellent if you're chilling for a while in the garden!) and there is a stream nearby. I would come back for another stay! Very cozy

Nice place located between Beacon and Cold Springs. Room was well kept and comfortable. Loved the homey feel of the house. Had access from the property to a few trails which was nice. Would highly recommend for a quiet weekend.

A bit close to the main road but it wasn’t so much of an issue.

Jim and Joe are the perfect hosts! Jim was so absolutely kind, generous and welcoming. It felt like you were visiting a beloved family member. The B&B is very quaint and very clean. It is cozy and filled with beautiful nick nacks and art the owners have collected. We had a lovely, relaxing stay.

The host was wonderful. The place was great. The only thing I would like would be more fresh air in the house.

The air quality. Especially downstairs. Breakfast muffins could have been smaller and healthier. Everything else was absolutely wonderful.
