Chestnut Mountain Resort

No breakfast was available there. Not included. Restaurant didn’t open until 11 for lunch. View was gorgeous. No elevators. My room was on 4th floor Got to room. It was nice. Air conditioner was not cooling. Called down to front and the sent maintenance man straight up. He tried fixing it. Before he left it quit working again. He called and got me another room. It was nice with a view from the mountain over looking the river. Very pretty.

No elevator. And they charged a deposit at checking in. That wasn’t on the booking page. They said it would be refunded if no damages.

The location of the resort is amazing. The views from the restaurant were breathtaking. They had many outdoor activities to enjoy. We really enjoyed the sky train the the Alpine Slide. I would love to come back in the winter.

Our room was in the worst location. Our view out our window was of the compressor units and the rooftop. For such a beautiful place, the room they chose to give us was a disappointment. Also, there was no blow dryer in the room which was very surprising.

The resort is very well kept, and there is plenty to do on the property, even in the summer. The staff was super friendly and helpful in the hotel and the restaurant. Rose and Vanessa were great servers for our dinners and breakfasts.

Some stuff was a bit pricey, but to be expected for a resort. It really is out in nowhere and the road there is a long, windy country road, so use caution while driving.

Mom's handicapped so some handicapped doors entrance ways would be helpful I kind of struggled holding the doors and the transfer wheelchair open at the same time but when the staff was around they were very helpful and I appreciated it

We wish it could be closer to home it's a three and a half hour drive is there is such a thing as a weekly rate? so I could come up more frequently? That would be lovely

My fiancé and I LOVED the breathtaking views and activities at Chestnut Mountain Resort!!! Plus the Sauna was so relaxing!!! It was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to go back!!!

The restaurant was understaffed and it took forever to get your food and drinks after ordering. The hot tub was also dirty.

Perfect location to enjoy your vacation, breakfast was good and lunch was amazing with very reasonable pricing. The resort offers rides, a good pool, and fun activities that keep you occupied for a day then you head towards Gelena Downtime for more. For people will young kids, this is a better option than staying in Galena, as your kids can have fun all morning and can then head with you willingly to the town.

Views were amazing. Staff was perfect. Restaurant was great, we liked so much first night that we ate there the next night.

Nothing to do with hotel, the area is very tricky to drive. Definitely suggest arriving when it's light out. It is very hilly and the roads leading to hotel could be very treacherous if weather is rough or if tired at night. Hotel is spectacular. This is just heads up to future guests new to the area.

The view was beautiful and the staff were very friendly! Thank you for the complimentary muffin and fruit by our door when there was no restaurant open at the resort the first morning of our stay.

I really would have liked to have the swimming pool and hot tub open. Complimentary breakfast would have been nice to have for all days even if just for the weekend.

We enjoyed the lovely views at the property tremendously. We ate at the restaurant which had reasonable prices and very relaxing tables. On other meals we packed a picnic (microwave and refrigerator are in room) for our dinners and had a sunset view and birdsong. The bed was super comfortable as well, and the room was very clean. The pool was GREAT and probably one of the few times I've been at a hotel and it isn't napalmed with chlorine (just the right amount!) and it wasn't a frigid icebucket. We were able to hang, swim, have an adult beverage.

The hot tub was not working, though this is standard for Covid travel. Hoping that changes soon as I always look for hot tubs. The bathrooms are outdated - but they are clean and functional so that is a minor criticism. Most anything I didn't like wasn't the fault of the property, just limited amenities and activities due to Covid. Overall I would very much stay here again.

The breakfast buffet was second to none. Bacon sausage eggs pancakes all kinds of different fruit and much more!

If I want to be real picky I could say on the side of the bed there was a bunch of hairs on the lamp on the floor. But with employee shortages they had the room pretty darn clean.
