Wyvern Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Room was nice, bathroom was big, bed was comfy, rooftop bar was great. New bartender, Collin, was very good and friendly. Had a great attitude and seemed like he actually liked his job. Nice to be able to walk to eat, drink and be merry.

The only complaint I would have was the road noise on 41. Did not think about it when we booked or I would have requested a room on the east side of hotel. We would have liked to check in at 2:00 when we arrived but she said it would be an extra $40 since check in was not until 3. That 1 hour was not worth it so we went to the rooftop.

The room was very clean and it looked new. The bathroom looked like it was just remodeled, beautiful. The staff was very friendly.

The computer system was slow for check in and the roof top deck and pool were closed for renovation while we were there. I understand it's something that had to be done and it was no one's fault, but it would've been nice to enjoy. I guess it was just bad timing for me.

The wait staff on the rooftop was AMAZING. they were able to help accommodate my sister and I surprising my mother on her birthday (while they were lookin at the beautiful water). The front desk was helpful at helping facilitate all our needs and recommending dinner and coffee stops. it was close enough to walk to fisherman’s village, TT’s, and everything else you want to go. The room was comfortable and the bathroom gorgeous- great water pressure and hot water! I highly recommend this and will absolutely be staying here again!

The entire 2 days were awesome, we live locally and go there once a year just to get away, the pool is awesome, plus they had a live band playing there Friday night and they were great. The room was beautiful, and very clean. Couldn't ask for a more comfortable bed. We had a great time, also enjoyed the bar downstairs. Staff was great. Can't wait to do it again. '

Only complaint is the coffee maker in the room didn't work and 2 days wasn't long enough, lol. I hated leaving. My small grand kids joined us for a couple hours at the pool one day and they had a blast.

We love the boutique style, fantastic view day or night from the rooftop. Close walk to favorite locations: Tiki bar, Laishley’s. Our mattress - very comfy. I like a softer mattress.

Furniture in the room, showing wear. Need to replace or touch it up. Pool towels are at the front desk - annoying when the pool is on the roof. Maybe put towels in each room?

Ate 2 meals at the bar because the rooftop restaurant was closed because of rain. Both meals were very good and wait staff helpful and pleasant. The room had a loveseat and easy chair plus desk chairs. That makes it comfortable for reading or watching tv. The furnishings were attractive and the windows opened a bit to allow some fresh air.

Usually there is a plastic laundry bag in the closet for soiled clothes or wet bathing suits, there was not one also no bathmat and the marble floor could be dangerously slippery.

We fell in love with the Wyvern the first time we stayed and it still is wonderful. The only negative is during Covid they took out the gym. Staff is excellent. Selena at the front desk and Nicole at breakfast made our stay smooth sailing.

No gym. One incident with Perch 360. I ordered a Pinot Grigio house wine but the bill charge was full price. When I questioned our server, she didn't really have an answer as to why the wine I ordered was not on the happy hour menu.

I did not know I had to “mention my pet in the comments” when booking online. Apparently, they only have one floor designated for pets. I had reserved a 2 queen room and they tried to force me to take a King room because they didn’t have a 2 queen room left on the “pet floor” of their pet friendly “hotel”. After much discussion, the manager finally gave us a two queen room on the fifth floor. Heads up those with pets!

The evening staff Sunday evening was not familiar with the restaurant open times. I’ve machines on floors 2&3 were not working Fortunately a staff went out and brought us ice for our beverages. Roof bar was very nice and staff friendly.

Location, facilities and cleaness

Hospitality desk because they were not flexible with check in. I understand there is a checkin time to give the keys but they didnt want even to receive our information 5min before they say the policiy is to charge $40. It has never happennes in the past.
