Fairfield by Marriott Wallingford Meriden

Really excellent breakfast! There was delicious prepared hot food including egg fritattas, meats, hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, fresh waffles, all types of milk including plant based, muffins, fresh fruit, cold cereals, yogurts, etc, Coffee wasn't great but the selection of food made up for it. The room was nice, spacious, and clean. Staff friendly, helpful, and courteous. Nice 55" TV.

The super bright parking lights shone into the room at night and there were no blackout drapes to pull all the way across to block the light. The feather pillows were less than ideal as they tended to flatten. Shower temperature fluctuated hot and cold during shower. The coffee in the room was not good but drinkable if you really needed some caffeine first thing in the morning before heading down to breakfast, so, better than nothing.

we chose to stay at this hotel since it was only a 15 minute Uber to the concert venue (Toyota Oakdale Theatre) The staff was super friendly and accommodating. and my boyfriend loved the complementary breakfast (especially the frittata)

there’s not a whole lot to do in the area. and the bed was not very comfortable

Very clean room, comfortable beds, even the water pressure and soaps in the shower were good. Friendly staff, good breakfast which the kids enjoyed. No odors in the room or hallways.

Just wish the pool being closed was listed on the listing. Honestly, if we knew the pool wasn't able to be used we wouldn't have come. It's my daughter's 6th bday and my three kids were really looking forward to the pool to the point that they came with their bathing suits already on.

Convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable bed

The room was a bit musty smelling, but it was very hot outside. It seemed like the carpet could’ve used some cleaner/baking soda treatment. I did have the AC on, but it still felt musty

Easy access from the highway. Quick check-in, quiet night of sleep. Free parking and the breakfast had bacon! Scones! Yogurt!

It isn't a fancy place, but functional. Why have hotels stopped giving lotion in the room??

The desk clerk who check us in was very polite

Breakfast wasn’t good and cook’s constant coughing was disconcerting.

The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful to us despite having to deal with a loud party going on at the time.

There was a loud wedding party going on the night we stayed, no way for the hotel staff to control that, but they did their best to give us a room away from the noise.

pool was closed, and appeared to have been closed for a long time. no warning in their reservation system?

Staff at check-in during the afternoon and the morning staff were both so incredibly nice and pleasant. Bagged breakfast left a lot to be desired, but there's only so much they can do with a bagged breakfast on the go. For a quick overnight stay, this was an affordable place to rest my head.

Smoke-free hotel, but the hallways smelled like smoke (maybe not cigarette smoke...weed, maybe?). Free breakfast was not really a meal, but it was a nice thought.

The king room was spacious, with a couch and tables. The large TV was positioned well for watching from the bed or couch, and I was able to connect our prime video into the big screen which was fun. I liked being able to use the treadmill in the gym too.

No fan ventilation in the bathroom, which should be standard.
