New Haven Hotel

I was here for Yale. It has fulfilled my expectation on how close it is to walk to Yale campus. The location is outstanding: bars, restaurants, attractions, and museums. The staffs are so helpful and willing to assist me anytime. The 4 staffs I met were so helpful, kind, and responsive I had quality of sleep. I felt safe staying at this hotel. The union station is also within waling distance: 12 mnts. Parking is affordable for each night of my stay.

I would score the hotel to 10 if it didn't place me in the broken AC room. I traveled from Indonesia to New Haven for Yale but found that my room air con didn't work. It was summer and was so hot. So I had to complain after couple hours and the staff moved me to the right room. However there is only one staff which is not so helpful and reluctance to help. I wish there was at least continental breakfast provided

As always the room met our expectations , staff was helpful, facilities were clean and the overall environment was pleasant.

The day we checked in must of been a busy day because the process took longer than usual, I could always see that the concierge was a bit overwhelmed but they eventually got everything handled in a timely manner.

Staff was extremely friendly, check in process was fast.

We paid almost 300 a night our room didn't have a microwave in it. There was no complimentary breakfast, i just felt i paid alot for just the room alone which wasn't fully loaded.

Premises were clean and comfortable with a parking garage directly across the street.

Nothing negative about the property but we didn’t realize we should have checked in and picked up our room keys prior to parking in the parking garage.

Good location to walk to Yale University, restaurants, supermarket, town green, etc. The hotel is clean and quiet. Guest Laundry (washing machine and dryer) available at level 7. How to make use of hotel parking: Multi-story parking garage is at the opposite side of the road from the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, stop your car at the hotel's small entrance patio (10 minute parking allowed). Go in to check in and inform hotel you are using the car park. Use the room key to enter carpark garage opposite the hotel. There is an overhead bridge that links the car park to the hotel at level 2. To exit the parking garage, use your room key. however, if you are driving out after your checkout time, get another card from lobby.

location was great. restaurants bars and college street music hall right there. good shower head and pressure. Beds, pillows and bedding very comfortable too! and robes!

lack of clear instructions about parking across the street, you need your room key! when we checked out we left the keys in the room. took extra time to get out of the garage. checkout time was very clear on the booking, however I received three separate notifications starting at 6 am, unnecessary . when you turn on light in bathroom a very loud fan also went on. there is zero steam remaining as a result but the loudness was intense it was a pretty quiet room I did not hear any people around us and no noise from above but I feel like we heard every toilet flush!

The friendly staff welcomed us, and the room was very comfortable. Parking was easy, and we both felt safe. You need a room key to open the security door to drive into the garage and again to unlock the door to the bridge to the 2nd floor of the hotel. All the common areas, parking garage, and hallways are well lit. Not one buzzing light or dark corner. Housekeeping does a wonderful job. We enjoyed the lemon scented soap collection used in the bathroom. . It's a nice hotel in a college town / tourist destination. If we do visit again, I will stay here.

The hotel is clean and modern with a beautiful lobby and easy access to Yale-- only about a 5 minute walk from campus. We were given early check in, which we appreciated. Parking across the street is $22 per night which is reasonable. We had 2 queen beds, which was great for our family.

We were assigned a room that literally had a view of a wall that was only a foot or so away. I've been in a lot of hotels and have never seen something like that. (Clearly, this room should have been a utility closest instead of a room.) So we got a different room after complaining. Also, the walls are so THIN. We could hear the toilet flush next door and it seemed like it was in our room. (Why do a great renovation but not create thick enough walls?) And, there was no comforter on the bed-- just a thin blanket.

Ample space for 2 in room (including extra sink outside of bathroom), availability of luggage rack, surfaces to put things on, outlets for charging mobile devices, ice machine easily accessible, fridge, safe, wonderful window light-blocking shades and screen, comfortable beds, robes, keys that always worked. Quiet. Turned out I was able to check in early. Soap bar smelled really nice. Friendly staff. Internet worked beautifully though of course I used my VPN for security.

Ironing board was basically usable but very rickety, unbalanced. Light in bathroom, operated by touch points on mirror, seemed cool at first but was a pain to use as I had to keep turning it back on after a minute or two. And what looked like a night light would also turn off, so there was no night light other than main bath light, which also automatically turned on a loud fan. One of the drawers on the bath vanity was broken (attachment of front piece to body of drawer). While there was a recycling receptacle next to the trash can, there was no way to recycle the Pepsi bottle I bought and emptied in the lobby market. Person at desk didn’t know of any recycling containers in the hotel.

A tidy comfy room with a decent coffee machine, comfy bed, good hot walk in shower with good water pressure, great WiFi. No fuss, just practical, clean and ideal for us. Handy little shop downstairs full of things you'd actually need. Nice lobby to sit in with a chess board which we played having our morning coffee. Friendly staff checked us in and out. Walking distance to Yale, many coffee shops, the cemetery, the bar we wanted to go to, lots of restaurants.
