Graduate New Haven

It is in the perfect location. close to downtown and close to Yale. Everything is walking distance. the room was clean and beautiful! the staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a small hotel but so quaint. Chexk in and out was super easy. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was so pretty and super clean. I loved the pop out window with seating- you have a great view of the street and all the excitement.

the only thing was they didn’t have any parking passes so I had to pay for parking on the street. that was a little inconvenient, especially if you wanted to sleep in- I had to get up at 8am everyday except Sunday and feed the meter. it was a hassle

The decor was very unique and memorable both in the lobby and in the rooms itself. Room itself was beautifully and ornately decorated, but a little dim. Large, roomy bathroom (though not the greatest lighting for applying makeup). Very friendly hotel staff. A great stay for the value

Lighting was a little dim in the room, there was a bit of a musty smell.

This renovated hotel retains its old fashioned charm while adding modern conveniences and nice finishing touches. Lobby is enormous and comfortable. It's not over-the-top-pseudo-fancy -- just tasteful and charming.

The bathroom door could have closed a tad easier... could use a very slight planing on one side.

Wonderful themed hotel which is the perfect choice when visiting Yale and staying in New Haven! I really enjoyed the lobby and room decor, which is Yale themed. Everything was high quality, and the room is a good size, especially the bathroom. I also really liked the coffee shop down stairs that opened at 6:30 AM for coffee and pastries. The front of house staff are very friendly and helpful. They also have bicycles that are free to use!!

The price of the room per night is fairly high. Also, there are no foreign plugs / adapters available.

The location was great, but the Booking.com listed explicitly there is free parking and there is none. We had very difficult time to find parking on the street as we had a large car and lots of luggage. That aspect is something I was specifically researching when booking. The posting needs to be adjusted.

A guaranteed loading zone. Street parking(meters) takes up the space in front of the hotel, so you may arrive and have no place to stop and unload/check in/ find out where you're supposed to park.

Very clean, comfortable hotel located in a convenient part of town. Staff were great - very friendly and helpful when my booking went missing (no fault of theirs). Good quality bedding, sheets, towels and toiletries. Nice bathroom also made our stay more enjoyable. The decor is a bit eclectic which initially, was not aligned to my typical preference for a modern design aesthetic. However, once inside the room, I was won over by the comfort and quality of the accommodation.

Nothing to dislike. The guests in the next room abandoned their dog when they went for dinner so there was constant barking. A call to the front desk resulted in a quick follow up and the owners returned shortly after so no issues after that.

The overall ambiance and history of the place are truly remarkable. Exceeded expectations.

The atmosphere and beautiful furnishings designed to convey the studiousness of the graduate environment. As part of that, we loved the blue tiles, curtains, and bedspreads that added color to the hotel. We enjoyed the banner of silhouettes of famous Yale graduates that bordered the upper walls in the room.

We were sorry there were no restaurants open because of this still being part of the Pandemic precautions. Pet peeve—we would love a coke and ice machine. The super expensive bottles of water in the room or Coke at the desk are ridiculous. In addition, we would have liked a coffee machine in the room. Also, having a few breakfast items in the morning would be very welcome.

The atmosphere of the Graduate is fantastic! Super fun decor, and we loved the cafe (they even let us hang out in the back room while the cafe was closed during the evening for some family board games). Staff were quite friendly, and even accommodated us checking in a bit early (and held our bags until the room was ready). We upgraded our room to a king for just a couple of dollars, which was wild since it was during Yale graduations! Surprisingly affordable accommodations, definitely a good value.

Just wish we could have stayed longer :) The only super tiny thing is the lady at the desk didn't seem to want to check if our specific room was ready, she just offered to hold our bags and tell us to check back later (but given the hotel was full the night before, this was still fairly reasonable).
