What I liked most about the property was that it was across the street from the beach. Took us 5 minutes or even less to get to the ocean. Also, for a last minute booking the room was at a great rate. Location isn’t far from HB or Balboa village. I would definitely book here again.

If you don’t like to hear the sound of cars zooming down the road, I would suggest not booking a room with the balcony. You would miss out on a decent view of the ocean, but if noise bothers you then avoid the balcony. I didn’t mind it and for a 1 night stay it was something I could deal with. Also, hallways could use a little bit of a carpet shampoo.

fantastic location right opposite the beach, we even had a a sea view through the building opposite. great concept where there was a cupboard for fresh towels, toilet rolls coffee etc for when you needed more as there is no maid service (unless you pay $40) but it wasn’t needed plus there was a little hoover at reception for any mess you may make in your room there’s was a great breakfast/brunch practically next door which we went to each day. I would recommend a room with balcony for fresh air. the Roku tv was great as you could log in to your own prime, Netflix etc

the bathroom needed some attention to the shower fitting as the handle was loose

great location, clean and modern.

the walls are a little thin so the noisy neighbors where a little disruptive, but all In all still a great hotel.

location was great, close to beach. I like how the towels are easy to get among other things. I didn't have issues with parking like others apparently had.

Not necessarily that I didn't like it but it does take some getting used to is the main reliance on the app to check in and out. It's easy to this is how most hotels will operate in the future and I know people like my parents that feel technology hates them will have a harder time adjusting to this style. But the front desk workers were great answering further questions.

Great location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Free parking and nice little pool.

Room was comfortable, but the bathroom and bathtub weren't clean enough.

We didn’t have breakfast there. We really love the location, which is why we like staying there. We can’t wait til they finish remodeling!

There was a used coffee filter in the machine and hair on the shower wall.(long dark) we are very understanding that it must have been an oversight because we stayed there 11 months ago and know that it was out of the ordinary.

the location is awesome. it’s a great place to stay. I’ve always liked staying at Sonder. it’s clean and it close to the beach.

since reopening they no longer have cable in the room and they no longer have the breakfast in the morning. it was always nice to be able to grab a quick bite and some coffee after my morning run.

Nobody was sure if or how we could use/rent bikes on location. There weren’t any vending machines and had to walk down the street for any. Noisy, was woken up by traffic and loud neighbors throughout day and night. Was charged a daily cleaning fee and there was no cleaning done during our two day stay.

Great hotel, great location Just a walk across the street to get to beach access Had a hiccup with booking.com getting the reservation to the hotel properly. Staff handled it gracefully and was very helpful Rooms are nicely updated. Parking was right outside the hotel. Small pool, but it was nice and warm for an evening swim.

As others mentioned, hallway carpets are next on the replacement list. All the rooms were recently updated.

The location was great. A block from the beach. The pool was adorable. The room was nice and clean.

The noise from the main road was quite loud. The fitted sheets on the bed totally fell off and the duvet cover too. That was kinda strange.
