Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort, an IHG Hotel

Restaurant customer service was excellent! Very professional, friendly, and on top of all things. The food was delicious however, a little pricey. Happy hour was nice to enjoy a glass of wine. The facilities on level two was very nice and I enjoyed the exterior as well as the set up. Loved that my dog could join us, and there were no fees involved.

The front desk check-in process was very rushed, and he did not have good eye contact with us. Maybe he was trying to get off work. The facilities could be a little more touched up, has a lot of scratches and where in tear could be seen in the rooms, in the lobby, etc. Pricing for car parking was outrageous. I ended up parking a block over to avoid the charges.

Excellent location, staff, service, rooms and facilities! We appreciated all the cool extras. The staff was top notch! We felt everything was perfect and we can’t wait to go back! I mentioned the only thing missing was my morning coffee ad bam, a coffee maker was delivered to the room! The staff are super friendly and definitely go above and beyond!

Location directly across from the beach. Bike rentals super easy! Restaurant had great food and customer service was on point. We were visiting family so we missed the social hour. But we had arrived within minutes of it ending and the bar still gave me a glass of wine for free. Given their prices, this made a big difference. $12/glass of house wine. Free coffee in the morning and free yoga on Sundays. It's a pricey area, so they do have some complementary perks. ALSO, they do offer a Nespresso machine in your room for free!

I wasn't anticipating the $36/night parking. They offered valet parking at $45/night. We declined thinking we could park ourselves for free. This was not the case. It may have been on their website and I missed it, but not sure. Also the wifi was not free - or was not obviously free. No code was given, just an option to pay for it unless you were a member. Then it was free. These are not complaints, just things to know in advance when budgeting.

The location was great. The room is spacious and comfortable along with the bed. Love the huge bath tub and shower with two shower head. The balcony was spacious and my view was great.

I didn't care for the bathroom barn door because you can hear everything when the person is using the bathroom. The couch was not very comfy but most couch with pull out beds are not. The chairs out on the balcony were too low. Perfect for the table but having a few stools would be great too. There is plenty of space to put 2 stools there. The ping-pong table is in the worst spot ever, it is in the middle of walkway getting to your room.

Loved all the amenities, coffee and tea bar in the morning, snack hour in the afternoon, cocktail hour in the evening and s’more making at night. Games such as corn hole, board games and foos ball. Overall a great  atmosphere for couples or families. It’s close to the beach, stores and restaurants.

The rooms were small and I found it strange that there were no mattress protections on to prevent bed bugs. 5 star resorts even take these precautionary measures. That weirded me out and made me feel lIke there was a possibility of bed bugs.

Staff are awesome but there was confusion about what we had booked. We booked a rate that included breakfast. When we checked in they told us there was no breakfast included. They did comp our breakfast the first morning but not after that. Great place if you bring your dog as we did. They took her picture and gave her a lovely gift bag including toys and treats. The hotel provides wine and beer at happy hour, smores kit for later and coffee in the morning. Fun place with ping pong and Foosball in the lobby, which were well used during the rain. Our room was drafty with a gap under the sliding glass door. But we didn't mind the fresh air. All in all, I would recommend this hotel. Make sure to print your confirmation in case of confusion at the front desk.

We loved everything! We enjoyed our stay and will come back! The valet was friendly and helpful. The front desk was also friendly and made check-in and check-out very easy. The staff at the Pacific Hideaway were easy going and made great recommendations on what to eat. What stood out to me the most about the staff was that they seemed genuinely happy to help and seemed to love their job. We loved our room! It had a huge balcony that my 1yo enjoyed playing on. The view was amazing. We ordered breakfast and ate out on the balcony. The Surf City Marathon was happening and we cheered and rooted for everyone. It was fun. Social hour was nice. We got our smores and sat by the fire. We mingled with another family. The whole vibe was chill and relaxing. People were playing ping pong. We played pacman. It was a quick walk to the beach. The weather was nice but the water was cold. We had fun playing in the sand. There were so many places to eat. We ate at Sushi on Fire and a ramen place. We got gelato too. I think Pacific Hideaway was our favorite especially because it was in the hotel, but service was great too.

I didn't like the water pressure in the shower but everything else made up for it. We did enjoy a bath in the tub.

The Oceanfront view was very nice. You can walk to the pier.

We had to pay a very high fee for parking. Parking should be part of the resort fee.

Friday night entertainment was amazing! Wonderful singer on a patio, fireplace, social event! We had such amazing time and didn’t have to go and look for entertainment elsewhere!

Maybe little better soundproof, we heard people walking and laughing in the hallway all night. I did see the noise machine in the room ( wonderful touch) unfortunately we are are just not used to sleep with it.

Front room Staff were great and did their best to accommodate us.

We had a 4pm check in and made 6:30pm reservations thinking we’d have plenty of time. However, we could not get into our room until 6pm and had to cancel. Then, once we got into our room, we realized the “ocean view” I paid for was on the side of the building and then only way to “see” the ocean was to stand on the balcony and look down the side of the building. Extremely underwhelming. Getting up sold on the ocean view was misleading to say the least. Considering we had a single night stay and paid nearly $900 to stay, it was a complete waste of time and money.
