Hyatt Place Scottsdale/Old Town

Beautiful property- well maintained grounds, good location, walking distance to old town restaurant area, very nice suite with full kitchen and private bedroom. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Fortunately we got a first floor suite. Quite area. Free parking. Reasonable price for the room.

No elevators is an issue if you don't get a first floor room, but we did get first floor. No guide on TV- just list of stations but can't tell what's on. Sofa bed not very comfortable mattress. No door between bedroom and bathroom sink area Blackout screen not cut well- light came in around sides Pet fee too high for a one night stay for 1 small pet

The reservations, made by booking.com and paid by affirm, caused major problems.. and delays in checking in. The reservations were made over a month of staying, and two of the employees would not speak with the company that had already paid ahead of my arrival. I attempted to show an email of being approved for the stay. I had no place to stay, so I stayed at the property, and had to pay out of pocket for my stay that I was already charged for by a third party. The. cost was more, than the original price. Not happy, with front desk, employees. I should have been reimbursed for the inconvenience. Will not stay at the property.

Everything was ready when I checked in, and it was a simple process. For the first night we had a 3rd floor room, but when the stairs were a little hard to navigate for my wife, I asked if they had 1st floor room, and one was found, and we switched rooms the very next day. The free breakfast was nice to have during our stay. We didn't use any of the available facilities, due to weather. Overall, the entire staff was very pleasant to talk to and I know I must have annoyed at least one or two staff members but, they took care of issues with a pleasant smile.... thank you for that. Wish I could remember their names.

We had no complaints, other than one remote per TV...that was annoying...lol.

Breakfast room was nice. Good breakfast selection. My room was on a ground floor and I felt safe. It was a very accessible hotel and it was a lovely stay.

This is an all suites facility with a great location, close to Old Scottsdale restaurants and canal walking trails. The facility is clean, our king suite was spacious, the breakfast offerings were good, and the staff was courteous. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but the area they were in appeared nice. This place is almost like a resort, with seating areas and a fire pit located on the grounds.

We experienced some loud parties on the weekend….probably due to it being an all suites facility. The walls don’t insulate noise very well as we were able to hear conversations in the room next door into the wee hours of the night. If you are situated close to the hot tub and pool, which we were, you’ll deal with noise as well. Fortunately, the pool and hot tub close at 10 PM.

This trip was for our anniversary, so I booked the largest room, based on sq ft... what I did not realize is the large rooms include a huge conference table with 10 chairs a long one side of the room. Obviously, a business meeting Suite...even a white board! : ) actually it was pretty funny. We also had 2 bathrooms which was great! After booking, I again looked at the pictures in more detail and spotted the corner of the table, then read that it would be in our room. I should have booked the Standard King. I love hotels with a real kitchen!! The bed was very comfortable, lots of closet space, the ensuite was large, the couch was great, TV, Wi-Fi, etc. We had a rear view of the pool from our 3rd floor bedroom window. The location was perfect for walking and sight-seeing.

I do wish we could have had some sort of housekeeping. We stayed 3 nights and never saw a soul near our room. We hauled our own garbage out into the hallway in hopes someone would bring new bags, but no one picked it up for 24-hours, both times. Overall, everything was great; just a lack of attention to detail for the price point, COVID or not.

The room was like a one bedroom apartement. Lots of space and very helpful to have a full kitchen and living room available for use. The included breakfast had a lot of options and was excellent. Being close to downtown Scottsdale was definitely a plus. A lot of restaurants and shops were within walking distance.

The only thing missing from our room was utensils. For having a full kitchen, a spatula or eating utensils would have been helpful.

I booked this hotel because of location and fantastic reviews about breakfast. However, because of shipping issues, there were many prepackaged items, but they were good. (muffins, bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter packs, jelly, ) On alternating days we had crisp bacon or sausage...as much as you wanted! The egg/cheese omelet every morning was not very good. But on the weekend there was a cook making personal omelets which were delicious. The orange juice was the best! Can't wait until they can return to the breakfast everyone was raving about. My room was great...clean and loved the shower head. If you needed more soap, coffee, just call the desk or stop over there. Even though I was close to the courtyard with fireplace, I never heard anyone out there...but they were. All staff members went out of their way to answer questions and be polite. I felt badly for check in desk because the hotel was short handed and many rooms weren't ready for the huge influx of golfers who arrived at the same time. The pool was clean and plenty of towels on hand. All the guests were friendly. Dining rooms were clean and spacious. I really enjoyed this hotel and will return!!!

Everything was great!

Our room was a king suite which included a full kitchen, living area, large bedroom and bath. We always had the option to do take out and bring our meals back to our room. Easy access to our breakfast and pool area. Our location was in the "heart" of Scottsdale Old Town and a quick 3 minute walk to shopping and wine tasting. The staff was very patient, respectful and informative.

Weekends were a challenge late at night, because many of the surrounding social clubs had extremely loud music that went into the late hours, with no respect to the hotel occupants in the area. The Hyatt has complained to the city of Scottsdale asking for a curfew on the music, but the city has refused to change Scottsdale's rules. It is a very active, vibrant city with many young people celebrating weddings, bachelor parties..... but the city should have some general guidelines so it does not discourage tourists to the area.

We had a nice room upstairs so it was nice and quiet for the 5 nights we stayed there. Room layout was good. It had a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet. Breakfast had the usual buffet items. They had custom omelets on the weekends. Breakfast staff were friendly. Located a few blocks from Fashion Square (shopping mall) and good restaurants.
