Rose Revived by Chef & Brewer Collection

The property was idyllically situated on the bank of the river Thames at Newbridge. Picture postcard property surrounded by mature weeping willows. Large well appointed beer garden stretch along the river bank, along with other seating on paved patio areas. For rainy days there is a large covered pergola. In addition to the main indoor eating area there is also an outside snack bar serving hot snacks for a less formal outdoor experience. Our room was clean nicely decorated with a fresh odour. The bed was exceptionally large and comfortable. Fresh milk was available for in room tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Pillow chocolates were also provided on two of the three night we stayed. The staff were friendly curious and helpful throughout out stay.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was of good standard.

Food was not up to a good a la carte standard. Also the system of having to pay as you go was a real negative. We had to get up three times during the course of our meal. Once to order and pay for a bottle of wine, the second time to order starter and main and the third time to order dessert. Also, we ordered a bottle of French wine with our meal which had a cork top. The member of staff did not know how to open it, so my wife was presented with an unopened bottle and two glasses - we had to ask for a cork remover. A real shame as the dinner was the only negative of our stay. The food and wine prices were almost exactly the same as the pub across the road - the difference was the pub knew how to provide service for an a la carte meal and you only had to pay once at the end of your meal.

Location is excellent had a relaxing meal in the shade on the river. Outside furniture is new and comfy, the outside table staff were very efficient and contantly cleaning tables. It was a very hot day but staff working outside were friendly, hard working and professional. Room recently refurbished and clean, fan and water provided which was excellent as we were in heatwave. All communal areas had new carpets and tastefully decorated.

Bathroom very small and due to age of the building uneaved floor leading to a step to the bathroom, anyone elderly would need to be aware of this. Very low a large ceiling light in bedroom overpowered the room!

The Rose Revived is in a lovely setting and have a lovely outside area plenty of seating and play area for children good gor family's and couples and lovely food

I like the room the only thing I didn't like they didn't have a big mirror in the room for when you need to do your hair or makeup apart from bathroom which you carnt plug hairdryers in bathroom bit small room 3 but overall we had a lovely stay and would stay there again

The "welcome" we received when we arrived. We were told in an unfriendly manner that we couldn't check in until 2.30 - it was 12.00 noon and we didn't actually expect to be able to get into our rooms - and also told there was nowhere we could leave our bag while we went into Oxford "unless we wanted to leave them by the lavatory". There was a distinct feeling that we were being troublesome and no acknowledgement that actually we were paying customers. Wouldn't recommend the Rose Revived because of this, despite the attractiveness of the pub itself.

Everything, the place is lovely. Situated in an idyllic location next to The Thames. We had a superior room with a view of the river and the ancient bridge. Well worth the extra. The food was superb, both dinner & breakfast & theres a great selection of drinks. The staff are kind and courteous particularly Craig (I think his name is?) the owner or landlord, who worked tirelessly to ensure the place ran well. It's been recently refurbished and theres lots of nice little touches like blankets to wrap up in whilst sat outside. We only came for one night but would've loved to stay longer.

We were walking the Thames Path so this was a great location, and I would recommend for walkers. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts and the food was good pub standard - tasty and plentiful. The room was very nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water for the shower. The Newbridge is stunning and we had a great view of it from our room.

The room was very small, and was clean when we arrived but was not cleaned whilst we were there. We were asked if we wanted clean towels, though. Each time we walked in there was a different person greeting who didn't know us, so we had to explain that we were guests.

The location was beautiful, situated on the banks of the river Thames. Good walks from the hotel. It was easy to get to some of the attractions, ie: Cotswolds Wildlife Park, Millets Falconry Centre, Bourton-on-the-water. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. We had dinner there three of the nights and again the food and service was excellent.

There was nothing I didn't like.

-Really nice room with nice decor. -Plenty of pillows, bed comfortable. -Shower and toilet rooms still ensuite but separate. -Good TV/coffee facilities. -Location on Thames perfect for a Thames path walker. Also nice and scenic. -Bar and restaurant area very stylish.

-The only issue was my room overlooked the road going across the bridge so there was quite a lot of traffic noise in the at times, especially early morning. But it wasn't unbearable.

Really nice rooms, lovely location. The owner or staff were feeding the ducks on the canal.

Some of the staff were a bit young and seemed to lack that customer services element. Smiles and thank yous go a long way with customers. Also the rooms are a bit noisy at night when the team are closing down the bar below you.
