A MAIDEN REST

My Mum & I had an amazing stay at A Maiden Rest. It was my second time staying here & I look forward to staying here again in the future. We had a wonderfully cosy twin room with a balcony & outstanding sea view. The beds were super comfortable & we both slept incredibly well. A Maiden Rest serve the best cooked breakfast I have ever had during any of my travels. The food is of high quality & cooked to perfection, everything piping hot & very delicious, also great coffee & Juice. Dean was very welcoming & couldn't of been more helpful. We really did have the most perfect stay.

There was nothing that we didn't like!

In my room the carpet and wallpaper looked new, breakfast was good and Dean was helpful and co-operative.

In my room, furniture was shabby, though serviceable. This, like the other similar buildings on the front, is a tall, thin building with lots and lots of stairs. This was not obvious on the booking site, which only showed a picture of the rooms, as far as I remember. I was just about OK with the stairs to my second floor room, but many people my age would not be able to do them. Needs pointing out before the booking is accepted.

Great value, very convenient location for beach and free overnight parking not too far, east facing so lovely morning sun in my room, beautifully presented and very tasty English breakfast, super accommodating host and friendly staff. I also noted it was close to Weymouth Train Station for those without a car. The en-suite facilities were very much appreciated.

Maybe not so good for people who can’t manage stairs.

Excellent central location, fantastic views from the sea view room, and friendly owner / staff, who were always happy to help e.g. securely storing bikes for ironman event. Breakfast always freshly cooked to order and promptly served. The room was very clean.

The only slight negatives were a lack of sockets in the room to charge phones, and no socket near the dressing table and mirror which would have been helpful when drying and styling hair. Mattress and pillows not the most comfortable (pillows quite stiff foam, would not mould to aid sleep). Minor point, however, a tall wall mirror would be a good addition. The positives outweigh those negatives

Fantastic location, breakfast was delicious with a good choice of quality foods and a great service by staff. The place is really clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a wonderful view across the beach. The room was cleaned and refreshed every day. Dean was very accomodating with my husbands mobility aid. Warm and welcoming bed & breakfast. Lovely stay.

Not really a 'didn't like' but for us the bathroom was a bit small (due to mobility issue) , perfectly servicable and clean though, lovely white fresh towels daily and good water pressure in shower.

Very good value for money. Simple, but everything you need from a B&B. Beautiful sea view from breakfast room. Well located, great for a beach holiday.

The big problem was that there is no on-site parking, which means you have to factor in parking expenses if travelling by car, and there's a need to carry your luggage to the place. But this is a fact made clear on the website, so no complaints, and also much of the accomodation on Weymouth has the same situation.

Dean was very friendly and helpful. He called us previous to arrival to check when we reach and kindly waited to ckeck us in when heard we missed our first train to Weymouth, kept our luggage after checkout and upon pick up checked how our day was. Full English breakfast was very good and too much :-) Room was cute and clean. I specially like two pillows on each bed, one light and one a bit firm for all preferences, I usually like firm but hotels don't really have them.

Unfortunately the room didn't have a hairdryer (if was late at night so we couldn't ask for one as there is no overnight staff), and the drain in the shower was a bit clogged.

Perfect Location near to bus stop, train station, right across the beach,all fun activities, shops, Staff were excellent, Food was good, spacious room, from breakfast dining could view the beach looked great.

Mattress could have been better could feel the SPRINGS while lying on it although had a good sleep because were too tired after exploring all the places and beach, Toilet is a bit small but were clean, Wifi didn’t reach till the top room.

Staff were fantastic really made the accommodation! Couldn't do enough for us and was even able to upgrade our room for a minor extra cost once we arrived at the accommodation. Views were amazing, completely idealic and location was perfect! Fantastic value for money couldn't fault the price.

The b and b is slightly dated if we are being honest but for value for money still not an issue. Toilet and shower was extremely small felt like Harry Potter in his cupboard but the shower was great considering size good pressure considering size. Feel like they could charge more if everything was just given a face lift and modernised because the location an staff were great. Didnt take away from our stay at all would definitely stay again!

The location was excellent. There is no parking , however Dean directed us to a nearby car park that was less then 10 mins walk away and a reasonable price so no problem with that. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

The wifi did not work in the rear room that we were in , was advised that we were allowed to "piggyback" on Bingo hall opposite but that only worked in you were sitting right next to rear window and was poor. Bathroom quite small.
