Holiday Inn Newport, an IHG Hotel

We loved it all But it has to be said JAMES ( jamie)THE BAR MAN OVER ALL A TOP BLOKE. HE WAS outstanding 👏 👌 defo deserves promotion you need more men like this bloke his energy and overall attitude was 💯 percent I've worked hard over the last 3 years And was in need of some time out Well that happened beautiful place highly recommended a vist to this hotel WOW ONERSTLY Are stay was a amazing experience Food was excellent The hotel was excellent Staff were excellent we will be coming back JAIME THANK YOU AND RESPECT FROM ME AND THE WIFE AND FAMILY 3 star Hotel more like a 5 star 🌟Hotel

The staff especially the bar and cleaning staff were excellent. They could not have been nicer. I hope to go back next year for 8 nights to snooker in the ICC. The Holiday Inn is so close to the ICC.

The only complaint I have is I order pizza on two separate occasions during my 8 nights stay..Both times the pizza was cold. The second time I ordered it i asked to have it hot but unfortunately it was cold. The second time the base was cold and uncooked. I don't like to complain but I would advise not to order pizza. The lasagne was delicious.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was really good - especially breakfast. Bedrooms clean and comfortable.

When you arrive at the hotel it doesn't look very appealing from the outside, but is much better when you get inside, though clearly quite old and in need of a bit of maintenance here and there. This was nothing major - more aesthetic - and didn't detract form the enjoyment of the stay.

we like the location by the reason we returned to stay was because staff are so friendly. some of them remembered us and did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

more vegan options for breakfast needed! for example vegan sausages rather than vegetarian sausages. one lady on reception was impolite to our children. she demanded to know what they were doing and where there parents were when we were right behind them. we also support our children being independent and we’re behind them so they were safe but also allowing them to go ahead to open the room key. here us was was completely unnecessary. very disappointing

The receptionist (initials, E.R.) deserves special mention. She was friendly and helpful and made us all feel welcome. It was great that the hotel.had so many electric car chargers! A little unfortunate that some shared their parking spaces with disabled bays. Having a pool, regardless of size, was my daughters favourite part, and the buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The sofa bed that my daughter had was uncomfortable.

Staff were very cordial and friendly. From the moment we arrived and left, we had no reason to complain or worry about the services. Every requests we made were met with promptness and courteousness. Food is great and affordable, served in filling quantities and the service is timely. The VIK offer for out little man was the best! Dude could walk in to the bar/ restaurant area every day and get snacks for free, or meals for free too when an adult is eating!

The pool and restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful when our room had not been booked correctly. They quickly gave us alternative rooms. The children eating free was a great bonus.

The plug holes were full of hair in the room and shower at the pool. Due to the change of rooms we didn't get our excective perks of orange juice and mini bar, slippers and robes. However, the hotel made sure we had bottles of water and chocolate for the children.

Decor in reception, bar, restaurant was modern, clean and stylish. Room-safe could only be accessed by squatting on your heels (within bedroom).

The breakfast (even under the social-distancing requirements) was mediocre. The coffee and other hot drinks all involved use of an insulated dispenser to pour hot water onto tea-bags or sachets of coffee. This was pointless (in terms of hygiene) because we were using our hands to do this: so everyone had to touch the surface involved. It would make more sense to fill cafetieres or tea-pots from within the kitchen and bring them to the customers' tables. It wasn't worth £11 each. The only way to justify the price would be to have a pair of short-order cooks freshly preparing breakfasts for individual customers (as in the US).

Breakfast was excellent and was much better than that available at the Holiday Inn Coquelles. The Meal we had on the Thursday night of our stay was good and the service very good. The staff were very hepful and really helped to make our stay more comfortable.

We deicided to have tea in the restaurant on the Friday night and ordered our meals and added side orders to our meal. The side order did not come out with our mains and when questioned they said we didn't order it. We did order and a gentleman behind the bar did ask if we wanted cheese or plain garlic bread. The restaurant was abrupt with us. They did go away and get the kitchen staff to make us some garlic bread. The garlic bread in the restaurant menu stated it was ciabatta bread when it came out it was not and it was French stick garlic bread. Also we had chicken burgers and they came out pretty much cold. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so cannot understand why we had problems.
