The room is very quaint and clean. It has a nice inn feel to it. It's helpful that there's free parking, although it's shared with the bar. Because of this, we didn't have parking until later in the evening when people from the bar left. The owners were accommodating of a last-minute booking and request for late check-out. There were nice, homey touches in the room like coffee, biscuits, a welcome guide, and toiletries. There's also only a few rooms, so it's quiet and not loud. The check-in staff was really helpful and came over to our room to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Having to wait for parking was a bit inconvenient, but it resolved quickly. The price for a weekend night is quite expensive. We wanted to stay another night, but the price doubled. There was only a lock for the bedroom and not for the main door to the inn. I would've felt better with both doors locked. We had to wait a bit of time in the bar to check-in because the waitresses were busy with other guests. After that, it was smooth sailing. We arrived too late to order breakfast, and they stopped serving dinner rather early. There are some shops nearby, but they close early. So it's a bit far away to access things especially if you don't have a car.

This was our second stay at this property. It's a year since we visited and nothing has changed - in a good way. Nothing looks tired or is lacking in maintenance. Love the location just outside Cardiff and love the value for money. This time we had an excellent meal in the restaurant. It was Quiz Night - we were made so welcome: even if we were pretty hopeless we had so much fun. Great night's sleep in a good bed too. Thank you Tyr Wynch. If we're in the area again we would definitely stay here.

There wasn't the option of a cooked breakfast or even cereal - this wasn't a problem for us, but some folk might prefer this. UHT milk. A hot chocolate sachet would've been nice too.

lovely comfortable guest rooms, excellent restaurant with great menu to choose from. the chef did a fabulous job especially on the steak that was just cooked perfectly!!! all of the staff that we interacted with during our stay were cheerful , helpful and professional. I would like to thank manager mike and I think the lady was called Angela, for being so helpful and really making us feel welcome. No request was to much trouble. we’ll definitely stay here on our next visit to Wales.

the car park is way to small for this very popular venue, obviously due to the location there’s nothing that can be done about that issue and it wouldn’t stop me from booking a stay here again (this was a second stay at this property).

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the kids loved it there. Restaurant and bar were both very nice. Food was very good. Thank you to Joyce in particular.

Breakfast is available but it is provided the night before to be eaten in the room. This isn't ideal as there are no facilities in the room for eating breakfast (e.g. a table/chairs). Breakfast items are packaged up individually is also produces a lot of plastic waste. It's fine if you are stuck but you are better off visiting one of the local cafes instead.

Comfortable rooms, quiet location, very clean. The pub is just next door which serves food but there is plenty of other options around you if you prefer something else. Rooms have been decorated to a very good standard and are nice to stay in for business.

Nothing I can think of. I guess it would be nice to be able to get a cooked breakfast but they do offer breakfast baskets to be delivered to the room which is an alternative that would suit some people if you were travelling for leisure. When travelling with colleagues it is nice to prep for the day ahead over breakfast which is not appropriate to do in someone's room so we decided to have breakfast else where. This is not a negative though as this place a great place to stay and we would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent facilities in the room with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, hair dryer and soap and shampoo. It was also excellent value for money. The bed was really comfortable and I slept very well. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Would I come here again? Definitely!

They provide preordered breakfast hampers which are delivered to the rooms the evening before. As a vegan there wasn't much I wanted on the hamper menu (which isn't unusual for vegans when eating out) and so didn't order. I would have preferred even simple coffee and toast. Even so, I would still come back here.

Nice welcome, check in is at the gastro pub then a member of staff showed us to our room. Clean nice room and bathroom. The beds were comfortable. There was also a fan in the room, but we didn't use it for too long because the temperature outside was not high 20C, but if the temperature is above 25C, it can be very hot in the room. Free parking is also very convenient 😀 Very nice owners!

we didn't order breakfast, very limited choice for us, but it wasn't a big problem because there is a Tesco nearby😀 my little suggestion to add cereal to the breakfast menu 😀

We have stayed in many different Cardiff hotels and guesthouses over the past few years and this is our favourite. Brand new spotlessly clean room at a very reasonable price. Lots of care and thought has gone into this accomodation. The guesthouse is separate from the pub so there was no pub noise. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend the location if you want to be on the outskirts of Cardiff away from the traffic and the confusing traffic system. We will use this place again and hope to try out the pub food which looked delicious.

Nothing stood out to dislike. I understand that the breakfast system (currently a hamper in the room should you request it) is very soon to move into the pub which will be a real bonus.

Twin room came with a rainfall shower which was great after a long day. Was in a nice quiet area. Connected to a pub which is great if you fancy a pint mid-day. Came with standard things like the TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making things and safe which was good. There's also a bus stop right outside, and a fish and chips shop.

Room was a little small for the price, felt a little claustrophobic with two adults staying in there. Also If you want continental breakfast hamper you have to pay for each items separately and have to decided what you're having by 8:30pm for the next morning.

Loved the feel & atmosphere of the pub food was brilliant, b&b room was a great size & adiquate for what we needed. The outside space / seating area was amazing the hand made barrel seats were fab 👍

Rooms were a little pricey in my opinion & some of the food in the pub. Didn't have a remote control in the room for the tv & was made to feel as if we were lying about not having it when we rung reception. Didn't like being shouted at & stood over by a regular / customer in the pub saying that I was sat on their table when I wasn't it had been booked out by the gentlemen who worked there for us for as long as we wanted, felt very intimidated as i'm not from the area & didn't know anyone. That did put a bit of a downer on our weekend that we had looked forward to for a Valentine's get away & spent alot of money there. Think check in could be slightly later than 10am aswell.
