Location was absolutely beautiful, and the property itself is lovely and full of character. Our bed was really comfortable. Husband enjoyed his breakfast, and the breakfast staff were really friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area.

*We were given confusing information on what we needed to do to get back in after hours, resulting in having to text asking for help to get back in! *No vegan cooked breakfast option. *Getting ready to attend a wedding there wasn't really anywhere to put any toiletries / cosmetics; a small chest of drawers and a mirror on the bedroom wall would have been really useful.

A proper pub, not a tarted up copy, been serving customers for 400 years. Let us park our motorbike in the courtyard to the rear of the pub. Has an old fashioned 9 pin bowling ally, and still has stable fittings and I think it said Morris Dancing Thursday nights. Evening meal and breakfast both great, special recommendation for Apple Crumble

Not a comment on the Pub but on Booking.com. Some people travel by motorcycle, insulted to be classed as "other". I am sure more people travel to this pub by motorcycle than by boat.

The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel that nothing was too much! Nicola the manager made us feel right at home. The property was period so it may seem outdated to others but we loved the historical side of the B&B. We loved the food (both dinner and breakfast) - the burger on the menu was to die for! We were part of a wedding party and felt awful for setting their fire alarm first thing in the morning due to steaming a dress, they were so lovely about it and saw the funny side. I even had a call when I got home to learn that I had left a cheap necklace in the room and they were going to send it to me via post. I would certainly stay here again! Thank you to the team there!

The toilet was loud and would flush well. The property is dated but that was to be expected for it age!

Lovely staff, chap at the bar was really welcoming and had a laugh with him. Thank you 😊 Rooms were clean and tidy. Tea / Coffee station was great. Rooms close to the car park & bar so that was good for us. Food was amazing - especially the breakfast - thank you chef

Nothing really. Broken lock but they sorted straight away so to me that’s a positive. it happens but it’s how a place deals with it and it was sorting straight away. Food was a bit slow to come out but limited menu so I wonder if staff was short which again, can’t be helped so all in all.. really positive stay and we will be back again. We are local (Minehead) but it was a stay for my wedding the night before but we would come back again for a local get away. thank you.

Comfy beds and helpful friendly staff. Perfect location for a wedding at Crowcombe Court as it was a 5 minute walk (in heels). Staff were very helpful and accommodating including warming the baby food up. Rooms have nice amenities and choice of hot drinks. Bottled water was also a great touch and appreciated after a night of dancing!

I don't think this can be changed due to the character of the property but the dips/uneven stairs weren't ideal. Would also be nice to have a mirror in the room but no big deal as one is in the bathroom.

The location is amazing and the building is very old and quirky but the rooms really need updating, one of our rooms had no water in the morning for a shower. The staff are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They got our rooms ready early as we were attending a wedding. Full English breakfast is separate to the room but is very good with plenty of food.

Rooms really need updating, and plumbing in room 5 needs work.

A really lovely place to stay with great food and a superb breakfast. The room was a little cold but that was to be expected considering the frost on the ground. Staff were friendly and welcoming and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The Carew is also located in a beautiful location.

My room didn't have a hairdryer so I had to borrow one from a friend's room instead. The room was a little cold as it was single glazing but the staff had put a heater in the room so I was comfortable.

Cannot comment on breakfast as we did not take up the breakfast option on either days, purely as we had eaten late the previous evenings. It is a very old building and full of character and history. The bedrooms we used were all excellent, extremely charming proper local pub, used by locals. The tea and coffee, toiletries and water in the room were all very welcome.

In a perfect world the shower in the private bathroom could have been more efficient, but it did the job.

We stayed at the Carew as we were attending a wedding at Crowcombe court. The location is perfect only a short walk to the venue. The room was great and the bed was really big. We had a private bathroom rather than an en-suite but it was fine. The staff were lovely and we had a great time chatting with them about the local area. Breakfast was also delicious and great value for money. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

The bathroom needs a bit of updating but was adequate for what we needed.

the style/ design of the building, a lot of history, think it used to be stables for horses. . the bar and the beer ! Lovely place to sit in the garden and admire the countryside all around. Wide choice of breakfast on offer friendly staff. relaxing. Quirky.

needs a bit of modernisation in the rooms. bedroom door didn’t fit, taps on the sink a bit dodgy , toilet didn’t flush properly, and was very noisy. Mirror on the wall was loose. just minor things but we managed OK
