The Royal Arms Hotel

Our visit was both business and pleasure i.e. meeting up with our son. The room was clean but a little tired - rustic - the tv could have been larger - but this did not detract from the room; the bed was extremely comfortable; the room was very quiet as we had requested. All the meals were excellent and fresh produce/good quality produce used - compliments to the chef. The Royal Arms was easy to find with super parking facilities and outdoor seating, in a wonderful setting with a relaxed ambiance; nothing was too much trouble for the staff. A safe place for any female wishing to stay alone - a hidden gem.

no facilities in bathroom to plug in electric toothbrushes, no fan to take steam away plus a plug for the sink which stopped the water running out. Neither of us enjoyed the orange juice.

Room was a good size as was the bathroom. Could do with more coat hangers, there was only 4, and a bit more generous with the milks and sugar. Although the bar staff were very helpful and provided more of each before we retired for the night. Breakfast was good. The bed was very comfy and we had a good nights sleep. Didn't have an evening meal so can't comment on restaurant.

Not their fault, but the water pressure in the bathroom is appalling. Howevet, the temperature of the shower was superb. Took forever for the toilet cistern to refill.

We loved the venue and our 4 poster bed. Lovely large room. Good food Polite staff

The shower was not very powerful at all. Such a shame there was no breakfast buffet, even if just for the continental aspect, felt uncomfortable asking for fruit and extra toast. I love to help myself to yoghurt, fruit, cereal, toast and pastries. For £97 for 1 night, I did expect continental buffet aswell as a cooked breakfast, which was absolutely delicious by the way.

The hotel was fabulous, comfortable clean, great parking. The staff were excellent, could not fault the service we received. Food was delicious freshly cooked. Good nights sleep comfortable bed

The TV was tiny for a room the size we were in, very difficult to watch from where we’re sat on the bed. My computer monitor is larger than the TV in the room. A big improvement would be a watchable TV

Room was a very good size, beautiful decor and so so comfortable. Having the sofa was great as we got to watch the TV sitting comfortably rather than lying on the bed. I went to lie on the bed to see how comfy it was and fell asleep for over an hour it was wonderful 😊😊👍

Not being able to stay longer and we had thought our booking had included breakfast but that was our mistake but we would definitely try it next time

Room was spacious and comfo with lovely views. generally everything was very good and we both slept well after a long day. Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of drinks at the bar and lovely lawned area to sit outside and enjoy the warm summer evening. It is a quiet location so ideal for us.

TV was a little small for size of room. Needed some tidying of some facilities.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable, but could have been improved with better bedside lighting - difficult to read by. The rooms were in an attractive quadrangle with a pleasant outside seating area and well kept grounds. We ate in the bar. Good pub food and attentive service from the (young) staff. The Royal Arms is in a quiet rural village, and was ideal for our visit to Mallory Park race circuit.

Stunning rural location and lovely buildings with ample parking. The main restaurant and breakfast room are gorgeous and the food is delicious. Staff were lovely and helpful as well and the atmosphere was great.

The furniture in our room looked quite dated, the carpets really needed replacing and the bathroom could have done with an update, particularly to the old electric shower.

Lovely old inn. Breakfast was wonderful. However the accomodation was not as good as the public areas.

The plugs were so close to the worktop in the bedroom that I could not plug in my laptop (Room 6) The hotel has the smallest TV's in the bedrooms that I have ever seen in decades! This is very frugal and counterproductive as I would not stay again for this reason only. TV's are so cheap these days.

Came here for a romantic getaway and wasn’t disappointed The place was gorgeous surrounded by open fields and stunning views Approaching the main building everywhere looked clean and inviting. As we entered the building we were blown away by how beautiful the place was inside, it was modern, stylish but still kept its old characters. We were soon greeted by staff members then given the room key and shown to our room. The room was huge spacious beautifully presented like an barm conversation with amazing views. That day/evening we went into the restaurant to eat and drink and I couldn’t praise the staff enough. The 3 girls working that evening were great, lovely, attentive and made the experience better and just want to thank them again. The cocktails were lovely and refreshing and the food was looked and tasted amazing so well done chefs. After eating we went to bed and had an amazing night sleep waking up in the morning was a fairytale as the birds were chirping the sun was shining and we felt refreshed. We then came to breakfast and again served by a lovely female waitress who was pleasant and friendly. The food again was amazing Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who loves great views, great sleep, great staff, great food and amazing views.
