High Corner Inn0

The setting of the hotel is phenomenal and a genuine surprise. I'd booked last minute but am fairly familiar with the New Forest, but this was something special. Tucked away in a very quiet area, it offers a beautiful drive to the location, well signposted when you're near. Parking is easy and feels safe. Check-in was smooth and friendly and the room was well-appointed. Not a sprawling space, it's a well-sized room for a comfortable double bed, plus en-suite. The bed was comfortable and very neatly made with all the typical accoutrements of the room laid out well and cleanly. The bathroom was exceptional with a very well-sized bath. I'm a hair over six feet tall and found it to be a good size to relax in. The supplied toiletries were filled and good quality with a pleasant perfume and the towels were soft and neatly presented. We slept well and suffered no noise or interruptions throughout the night. Breakfast was exceptional, well cooked, nicely presented and an all-around premium experience. We had dined at the High Corner Inn the night before and in retrospect, found breakfast to have offered the better of the dishes, though that's not to put down the dinner service.

There's nothing that comes to mind to moan about that the High Corner Inn could actually do anything about. The bedroom window view is of the tidy courtyard, not the views of the rolling New Forest you might expect. But it's barely a 2-minute walk to a stunning viewing area so even that isn't worth much of a complaint.

The breakfast was great, lots of different options to eat and drink! Our room was a decent size for a 3 night stay, very comfortable and well decorated. The bar/restaurant is also really nice, quite rustic and very comfortable. There is a massive garden area with a small play area, would be perfect for families. The location is outstanding! and each morning we were greeted by the local horses just outside the window. Would definitely stop again and I will be recommending to friends and family.

The only thing I would have liked is a bath, but not all rooms have them. This isn't really a complaint though.

Will is a very good host. The room/suite was excellent. Very spacious room with a private terrace. Very good bathroom. Breakfast was good but see below for comment

Service at breakfast was VERY slow - rather spoiled the whole experience - a great shame. TV reception was very poor but then remember where you are - although no sign of satellite TV on the screen (but the dish was outside) which would overcome the problem. No afternoon tea available in the restaurant only from the lunch or dinner dessert menu. - a lost opportunity.

We recently enjoyed a stay at High Corner Inn, Linwood, New Forest. The setting was amazing, and it was delightful to be surrounded by countryside with wonderful horses and ponies roaming freely, and beautiful walks on the doorstep. On our arrival on a Sunday, we noticed a great many people and families enjoying lunch, a sure sign of the popularity of a good hotel. The staff were most obliging, and always asked if we were in need of anything. The hot breakfast was very good with choices such as Eggs Royale or Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs, as well as the usual Full English – a great start to the day. We appreciated our relaxing break at High Corner Inn.

Cant fault the place , good staff, food, room and it's a proper pub bar. Its pretty remote and tranquil in a beautiful setting of wood and heathland with wildlife and ponies aplenty, the gardens are good and large with plenty of paved eating/drinking areas. I read an earlier comment on motorcycles saying the bike needed to be off road capable to get there, my bike is a cruiser and the approach is about half mile of hard packed shingle, it's very doable if you take it easy - it's well worth the effort

The shower had been taken out of bath in my room, suspect it was prone to leaking

Location was amazing - in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by stunning forests and walks, and of course lots of wild animals and horses. Room was a good size and clean and tidy. There was the biggest bath I had seen in the bathroom ! Staff were very welcoming and friendly and Clive and his colleagues looked after me and my dogs. I ate in the restaurant on Saturday evening and had the burger, which was amazing. I had a cooked breakfast on Sunday which was equally delicious. All in all a great, relaxing stay and I’ll definitely come back !

Can but a little noisy late at night from other guests. Certainly not a complaint but given the building is very old and therefore hasn’t got the luxury of sound proofing, you can hear other guests moving around.

The room was clean and the bed soo very comfortable, it was dog-friendly so a bonus. We arrived quite late in the evening (around 9.30pm) and found the pub empty - was expecting it to be busy as the weather was so good during recent heatwave. Staff friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was 100% delicious, again the staff friendly, polite and attentive. It was a bit of a shock to step out the door and find cows, a herd of donkeys then horses just milling around chilling. There is a lovely big garden with lots of seating/tables overlooking the forest - a very old comfortable Inn right up my street situated literally in the middle of the New Forest along a gravel road.

Nothing it was lovely.

Where to start! 2nd stay here , come last year also. High Corner is a beautiful pub , the rooms tastefully decorated, the manager extremely welcoming as with other staff and nothing was too much trouble. The food is excellent, breakfast outstanding. Dogs are very welcome! The walking routes from the pub are truly stunning . You can not go wrong with a stay at High Corner. Would I stay again? Absolutely! Thank you High Corner for yet again another wonderful break.

Internet in room was non existent. A minor gripe.

the place is in a perfect location in the middle of the forest. if you want calm, rest , nature and disconnect from your everyday life this is for you! No internet or wifi though so be aware before planning your trip. The pub is not open on the evening Mon- wed so plan ahead for your meals if you’re going during the week. Nice and helpful staff. Room was nice and big, comfortable bed, and big bathtub in the bathroom. Breakfast a la carte is excellent!! I had a fabulous stay and will defo return but on a weekend.

everything was good. Maybe the Inn should propose evening meals to people staying for the night during the week like a bag to go or something like that even cold if it’s cold.

High corner is set in an absolutely beautiful location, no sounds of traffic to spoil your stay. Our room was lovely everything you could need for your stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially Clive, Georgie and Sophie. All the food we had was really yummy we couldn’t fault any of it. Highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

The only downside to this property was the rollercoaster ride down the track to get to it. Make sure you have good suspension on your vehicle 😂
