Holiday Inn Norwich North, an IHG Hotel

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excelent and large portions. Everywhere was very clean and although quite busy there was plenty of space. Also although right next to the airport, was very quiet. Only heard two planes over the whole week we were there.

The quilt was not big enough for the bed. It was exactly the same width as the bed. Needs two armchairs in bedroom if staying for a week. Hated the 'ipad' ordering system in the restaurant. The staff were helpful but how can you all look at the menu to see whats on offer. It takes ages to scroll through everything, choose each item and pass to the next person and then check over everything at the end to see if it's correct. You need interaction with the staff to get advice on certain items, portion size and if you want something different. Staff make you feel special, this system does not. Sadly this is taking over from people's jobs. You need paper menu's on the table so all the party can look and decide together.

• Rooms were clean, spacious and well-presented. •Breakfast was excellent with a very wide variety of choice, both continental and full English. •Staff were friendly and accommodating. •The spa was a welcome relaxation (underused, when we travelled)- great steam room, sauna, pool and jacuzzi (gym also available). • Around 10 minute drive into Norwich, which made the location ideal. • Even though of it’s close proximity to the airport, no air-traffic noice was heard in the room, at all. • For those who have late night cravings, there is conveniently a 24hr McDonald’s, within very close walking distance.

• We booked the room with a bath in the photograph, but we received a shower. • It was a shame to see that next-door’s room was only separated by a door in our room- they were noisy on the Saturday night. • Though not a big issue, by any stretch, a smart TV would be a good addition.

Quiet location, pleasant staff, easy check-in and out, hot plates during breakfast, water (including infused with lemons and orange) in the reception almost all day, wifi worked without disruptions. Liked that they had a pool (though we did not end up using it due too much i had doing- but i won't forget for next time)

We got a room set up with special needs facilities - which we did not request. My kids did not enjoy using the shower as water was everywhere; it was messy. The lifts gave the impression that one might get stuck as they were slow, and the buttons had to be ptrssed several times.

The room was bright and airy. Breakfast was great as there was considerable choice of foods. We took advantage of the food offers for dinner which included drinks with the meal. Portions were large and food tasted nice. Pool was great, only busy on the Saturday, but otherwise had plenty of room for our party

Two things - Firstly the tablets which are necessary to order food. I would prefer paper menu's which the waitress could tap into her own tablet. The process does take a long time when there are six of you in a group. Secondly would prefer to drop towels (after going for a swim) at the Leisure Club who could then reorder for our room. Reason being is that we ended up waiting at reception (where the staff were tending to new arrivals) to hand over our old towels for replacements. So only a couple of small issues

Everything was very convenient. It was genuinely dog friendly. We were located in a room on the ground floor very close to the garden which was great as we had our dog with us. The courtyard garden was a generous size. The disabled parking was very close to the door. No long walks. We could open the window. Always great to have fresh air as opposed to aircon. Breakfast room was pleasant with a variety of seating areas. Also with sun lounge area for dog. The pool was well run and a good size. It was very handy location for north Norfolk. The park and ride also very convenient.

I could say it lacked character as a building but practicality and convenience were our main priorities and it delivered on both. There were areas around the pool building which could have benefited from a freshen up with decor, ie damp patches on walls and roof.

We stayed here while visiting Bewilderwood with friends. We chose the hotel for location and also because it had a swimming pool. We didn’t expect the level of service we received especially for the children. They were greeted as ‘VIK’s and received their welcome packs which kept them occupied completing the tasks. The kids corner kept them amused and they spent hours in the swimming pool. The beds were so comfortable and all of the staff were fantastic and friendly. The breakfast was so good and great value for money. There were so many little touches.. like the refreshment station by the doors, or the voucher for the kids to get a treat from the bar. They were all so unexpected but made the stay so special.

There was a very good range of food available for breakfast catering for every need and plenty of it. We did feel the rooms although clean enough were a little tired, chipped paintwork, carpet was a bit grubby. The hot water in the bathroom took ages to come through hot and the flow at the wash basin was very poor, also the fan in the bathroom didn't work. We could of complained at reception but chose not to as it didn't spoil the overall stay.

Nothing really, apart from the few gripes above, other than that we enjoyed our stay.

It was a fabulous evening away, wish I’d booked two. Catered for allergies and an autistic son. Nothing was too much trouble, service was impeccable, food in both evening and breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented.

One minor bit of feedback, we arrived at 1805 and was told that if we weren’t seated by 1830 then we would have to wait till 2000 for dinner - this wasn’t suitable for my autistic son. Was a bit of a rush to get everything to the room and back again for 1830, had we known beforehand we would have arrived earlier. But this was very very minor.

We were very unhappy with having to pay £4.95 per night to park there. We feel it is a money making scheme and you are holding guests ransom. We appreciate it is next to an airport and you need to stop people using the car park but guests shouldn't have to pay, especially when there is no other obvious parking nearby.

The staff all go the extra mile to help with anything. I got the impression that they really enjoy dealing with people. This is not always the case with people working in hospitality. I have been to flashier places where staff make you feel like you are in their way. This was not the case here. I cannot emphasise enough how lovely the staff were. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room were all great and all were working fine!! And my room was really spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good - a buffet with a choice of cooked food, pastries and cereal, and very much an all you can eat feel.

It is true that it is very much a "no frills" establishment. There was no safe or fridge in my room. You do have to take your room towels to the pool. A lot of the lockers in the changing room were out of order. One of the two showers in the changing-room were out of order etc. There was no shampoo or soap in either of the dispensers. Thankfully I brought my own. Dinner was very disappointing. There were no proper healthy options. It was mostly stodge; pizza, burgers, chips, curry, sandwiches and soup. there was hardly anything green in sight.
