Very quiet hotel, set back from the road. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for one night. The shower room was also small but everything worked. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent; not too expensive either (from £7.50 to £12:50 from memory, depending on choice). And I enjoyed my pint of Adnams Stout in the bar! We were attending a concert at Sandringham and the hotel enabled early check-in for us, which was brilliant. There is secure card-access after-hours. Electric vehicle charging in two of the parking spaces was a bonus (at a reasonable cost).

The car park was a bit small but there was additional space in the access road. No air conditioning in the room (it's an old building) but luckily the weather cooled down and it was quiet enough to have the windows open. However, we did hear minor noise from the neighbouring room, which is a consequence of the old building I guess; my trusty earplugs solved that!

The hotel was above expectations - as it was one of very few places left with vacancies in West Norfolk. Staff went out of their way to help and showed some flexibility, the room was really good with everything you need and the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was good (though always prefer if it's included in the price, it was still reasonable). Dinner choices were limited basically to bar fare and Kings Lynn generally has a limited offer for fine dining. But it was fine and we were both tired and hungry after our walking.

The dinner menu should be on the website and be better with a fuller offer, but appreciate the challenges given the locatioon in which case they might have an arrangement to refer guests to high quality restaurants in the town.

Attentive friendly owner and staff, who made everything seem effortless. Our room was beyond our expectations, beautifully presented, comfortable and miraculously clean. The food was beautiful, with a huge breakfast choice. Our little dog died a few weeks ago and it was a pleasure to see some lovely well behaved four legged friends staying at the hotel. Staurts house is a short walk from the town centre, which offers a large selection of shops, cafes and eateries. However the jewel in the crown for us was the gardens and 'the walks', which are literally on the doorstep. FANTASTIC.

Staff were very welcoming. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. I only had two meals as I was out with family but the evening meal was very good and I only had toast and coffee for breakfast but that was my choice.

I had a little problem with the shower. The shower itself was big enough but the door opening was quite small and I felt unsafe when stepping down out of it. If I had been a large person I wouldn’t have got in or out. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the answer is. Maybe put small people in that room!

Very friendly and helpful staff (Reception & Breakfast). Excellent location for walks in The Walks. Full English breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the garden room which was lovely and secluded with a nice view. The bathroom was nice with lots of room and fluffy while towels. Excellent travel links - can be on the A17, A47 & A10 very easily and quickly.

Slightly odd odour in room - possibly dogs from previous occupants? However this absolutely did not detract from an excellent stay.

Rooms were lovely, my husband and daughter stayed in room 6 which has a spectacular four poster bed and very large bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub which delighted my daughter. Everything was comfortable, spacious, and super clean. Quiet too, perfect location for sleeping soundly. Breakfast was totally fine, I wouldn't say delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Staff were truly lovely, hard working and friendly, very accommodating. They served us drinks on arrival very late at night, 11pm.

The only slight criticism in terms of decor is the slightly old people's home-looking kettle/tea set in our room. A black electric kettle and quirky, vintage china cups would be a marked improvement, but it's such a tiny detail. Breakfast: the fried bread was disappointing, I expected a real slice of sourdough bread lightly fried on the pan, not a frozen yellow triangle out of a packet and deep fried. Also no vegan butter or milk available, which was an issue for me as a vegan.

Situated in a very quiet part of town, the room (#7) was lovely. Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, spacious and very quiet ( something we had stipulated. Parking was also very easy in the very long drive leading up to the hotel

Due to 2 very hectic/strenuous days out on the water taking photographs on behalf of the Hanseatic Festival of Watersports organisers. We ate early in the hotel both nights to we could turn in for the night early, ready for the next day. Sadly on both evenings, the food was disappointing. Simple things..like "freshly made pasta" being delivered to the table almost cold! A "gammon" steak which was probably not far off the thickness of a thick cut rasher of bacon. A chilli con carne with strange lumpy beef. Not deal breakers, just disappointing. We should have eaten somewhere else on the second night knowing what we knew on the first night.

Good location just a short walk from the centre. Lovely old building and staff were friendly

On the hottest day of the year the curtains were wide open making the room unbearable. Lipstick on glass so had to use the tea cup for a cup of water. Couldn't get to the socket behind the bed to put our own fan on. No point in a bedside light if it isn't plugged in. Bathroom was average toilet roll holder falling off the wall and hook had broken so no where to hang wet towels.

lovely features and fire in the bar and food was amazing. the young gentleman housekeeper was fantastic as were all the other staff throughout. also great that there is an EV charging point.

only small thing was our room was next to the boiler/heater plant room so it was quite hot even with the radiator off and window open. sounds mad in the winter but it was still comfortable enough to sleep in. to be fair I didn’t mention it to the hotel as it’s probably because I’m a cold blooded northerner…

Our check in wasn't until 3pm, but had to check out another hotel at 11, so called ahead and asked if there was any chance to have a slightly earlier check (expecting an hour or so) and the very helpful person we spoke to took a look and said she would make our room up next and that we could check in within the hour. When we arrived we had a very warm welcome and were grateful that the she went out of her way to accomodate. The hotel chef had called in sick which was unforseeable, so the staff were advising people that they could order take aways into the restaurant, or they could cook something limited. They hadnled the situation very well on what would be a busy Sat night in the restaurant.

The rooms are a little tired, and matress very soft. but are clean and had everything we needed.
