Dragonfly Hotel King's Lynn

The room was lovely, clean, and comfortable. It was very spacious, and the bed was nice and cosy. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. The shower was lovely. Nice size. We would definitely come and stay again.

The only main thing I had to fault was the food. My husband and I had an evening meal at the hotel, and although the starter was ok, my main meal was stone cold in the middle, and my husband got them to take it back. I really felt uncomfortable as I don't like complaining, but we decided that we would not eat there again 🙃 A little thing is the light was a bit dull in the room.

The staff were very friendly, extremely helpful and did everything they could to accommodate our needs, beds were very comfy, breakfast was good. The communal areas were nice, comfortable and there were cosy areas, a bar service which is always a bonus in a hotel and a restaurant so you could have a meal or snack up till 9 pm..wifi was good, with good reception.

Some aspects of housekeeping were a little poor there was a damp smell in the rooms and our room had some mould on the carpet, so we were accommodated in another room, the rooms were a little small and wardrobe space was minimal. Radiators didn't work, and even the staff couldn't get them to work, so it was a little cold during the night.

Really pleasant hotel and staff, helpful, comfy beds and room nicely decorated, clean and bathroom excellent.

Would have given 10/10 however, the self check-in system was awkward to use and unfriendly for those not used to technology. The old fashioned personal welcome and check in is far more welcoming. Also, we found no mention of breakfast times in the room folder, and plates were very cold, making food cool down too fast. Warning... Road easy to miss as on major roundabout. Apart from that, we will return.

The location of the hotel was very good, close to the supermarket and shopping area. It is useful having a car with you as nothing is really walking distance and the town centre is a short 10 minute drive away. The interior was cosy and comfortable for the price range and the best part was probably that the rooms and hotel was kept clean. They serve lunch and dinner through the day up until around 8-9pm. Their fish and chips was good there and they serve standard english breakfast. The car park was big and there were different areas within the hotel for sitting if some privacy is needed. Convenient place for people coming to stay over for business/work as well.

There was no fridge in the room for drinks to stay cool and the air condition was a bit different to usual, not sure how effective it was in reality. Tried to contact the hotel a few times on the landline but nobody picked up, though in person they were helpful and accommodating.

The room was well presented and comfortable. The breakfast was also lovely and well cooked. I would certainly stay here again when visiting the area.

Having to book a time slot for breakfast via a QR code and only getting 30 minutes to woof it down was a bit odd but as we had other things planned for the day after check out it really didn’t matter in the end. On check out we were asked to pay for extras at the bar that apparently we ordered at 11.20 pm the night before but in fact we were in bed and didn’t visit the bar. Certainly people from a wedding at the hotel used our room number to order drinks etc which I hope wasn’t added to my bill which Iim being told won’t happen. Rated this hotel as a nine mainly down to the toilets in the main bar area needed a bit of attention

Breakfast was nice and plentiful. Staff were great and helpful. Self check in was easy but staff made sure we did it ok with registering car for free parking. Rooms were just right size with a nice updated bathroom,all clean. Hotel in good location to start any travelling from,traffic noise wasn't bad considering amount of roads surrounding. Had evening meal and everything was nice and reasonably priced and good choice of drinks at bar including my fave,bottled peroni.

Not a lot wrong, room main doors were very noisy when closing specially at night. Choice of hard pillow or soft pillow each,one was too deep and hard,other too thin, could of done with 2 soft pillows each but that's preference. Hairdryer packed up 1st use but was sorted within 5 mins. Electric heater hard to fathom to turn on but just kept pressing buttons till it came on :) Prefer fried eggs to scrambled for breakfast but again preference, sausage was lovely.

Very easy to find and close to the venue we were visiting. Basic but clean, comfortable room and friendly staff.

Self check in and out machines were very temperamental. Also be aware that you must get a permit for the car park or you’ll be hit with a hefty fine. “Happy Hour” between 4-6pm stated a house wine was £2.50 so I ordered a rose but was charged full price. Apparently the house wine is only 1 particular white wine so don’t get caught out by that either.

Staff were very friendly and probably the best asset this hotel has. Hotel was well located and good facilities. Rooms good, very clean, breakfast was adequate.

Communal areas looking a bit shabby in places with stained carpets in dining area etc. The worst bit by far is your ‘Barley & Graze’ restaurant - SO OVERPRICED AND SO UNDERWHELMING - £65 spent on a meal for 2 which was like frozen food from a cheap supermarket … £10 for 6 chicken nuggets, 6 halloumi sticks and two squirts of cheap flavoured mayo? Really - such a rip off. If we stay here again we’ll be sure to eat out. Dire quality needs attention.

Our requested ground floor room & shower were excellent, as was the great value , well cooked Breakfast. The Dining room staff were exceptionally friendly & pleasant.

We booked through Booking. Com & we asked specifically for a Ground floor room with shower. We received a text implying that the request would be granted & as you can imagine it was a disappointing to find ourselves booked into a first floor room with bath. Not a very good first impression! We refrained from complaining as we had only booked for one night. By coincidence we were moved to the Ground floor as the TV remote in the room was unworkable & the Ground floor room was excellent. Reception advised us to book direct another time.
