The Pine Marten is a lovely building , plenty of free parking , our room was large and very comfortable , with good access to Harrogate and surrounding districts .

We didn’t like the flask of hot water and help yourself to a cup and teabag approach to our morning cuppa at breakfast , surely a pot of tea and or coffee would be far nicer , no cereal or fresh fruit or yoghurt was offered or available . The actual breakfast was fine although we waited quite a long time for it to arrive , the otherwise excellent room had neither wardrobe or chest of drawers so our clothing had to remain in the cases for our week long stay which somewhat spoiled the home from home hotel experience , so for me the lack of room furniture and the breakfast and tea setup didn’t measure up to the rest of the hotel stay experience .

Everything. The hotel phoned before we arrived as it was getting late to ask if we wanted a table in the restaurant as they would be closed at 9. Well what a start to the customer service experience from the assistant manager. He was also there to greet us when we did arrive. The room was huge..lovely with a view of the garden. The restaurant and bar and lounge are absolutely gorgeous, they have complemented the old building beautifully. The food in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast was lovely. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean...thanks to the wonderful house cleaning team. Plenty of parking.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this hotel

The service, staff attitude, the food was excellent, the room was clean and fresh, the bed was comfortable, especially the staff were fantastic - they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. The bar area and decor were Old world / 1920's atmosphere and was very relaxing, no doubt we will stay here again at some point.

There were stairs to all floors and I saw some persons with mobility issues struggling at times. There is a small access ramp from the car park to the main door but if you were late back after the main door had been locked you were expected to access the premises by a set of several stone steps from the car park leading to the night door where there were 2 or 3 short flights of stairs to the rooms floor above. I didn't see a lift in the premises.

Very good car park, very friendly and helpful staff when and where they could be, evening meal food pretty good, bedroom was big and spacious.

Did not like the breakfast choices, NO cereal's, no porridge, no fruit, no yogurts, all there was, was a cook option and that had no omelettes on it, considering the price of the B&B, I would of thought breakfast would of been better. Having had a medical condition I asked for a ground floor room and near to reception prior to arriving and on checking in I was told no ground floor rooms and I was right at the top and they wouldn't change the room, three flights of stairs and three trips later I was knackered :( (no lift)

Ideal location for North Yorkshire Moors by car, only half hour walk into Harrogate town. Rooms nice, a bit quirky in layout but from age of building. Restaurant excellent, good choice food well prepared and tasty. Breakfast cooked to order so fresh and very filling, choice of continental breakfast available also variety of cooked breakfast apart from English. Staff friendly, helpful and approachable.

We were in Room 9 which does have low beams running across the ceiling, again due to the age of the building but given my height (6Ft+) would have preferred more headroom if it had been possible but believe the hotel was full.

It was clean, comfortable and the staff were very pleasant.

Our room unfortunately overlooked the beer garden and was therefore quite noisy as there was a party. Having said that by 11ish, everyone was going. This would’ve been a problem for people who like to go to bed early. It seemed that there was a staff shortage and we had to wait quite a while for our breakfast order to be taken. There wasn’t a lot of choice for breakfast, ie only one choice of cereal, no fruit, yoghurt etc. Once we received the cook breakfast, it was very nice and plenty of it.

had a real country inn vibe, old country lodge, great food and relaxing atmosphere

bathroom was icy, floor freezing and sink cracked. the team as usual were fantastic always take time to talk you you and pay attention to what your doing. shame the shift manager (Richard) does not take notice of their attention to detail. maybe after asking how you are he should keep eye contact and reply to your answer rather than looking at the pc. there is more to great customer service than just coming out with the usual learned greetings with no warmth or sincerity. it’s a real shame as the rest of the staff make the place really welcoming and friendly his inflated ego dies not encourage any type of conversation at all

Very welcoming and friendly staff The mix of old and new to the building The view from my window The outdoor facilities for dining Room was comfortable and clean Easy to find on Satnav, and lots of space to park Nice menu

Odd smell near one of the corridors leading to my room (a bit like a blocked drain smell) - would have likely complained if I was situated too close to it, but luckily wasn't. No proper locks on the doors (was a chain lock, so could still be opened a little from the outside)

The room was very spacious and airy. The bed was very comfortable and this was important when spending 8 nights! The staff were amazing especially Monica and Hugo in the bar. We just loved it.

Breakfast was on order and always took quite some time to be prepared. Including other hot beverages like cappuccino, hot choc, etc rather than just standard coffee and tea would have been appreciated. And charging meals to the room when dining in-house, especially during a long stay, would be handy.

The room was a fair size, the bed was comfy, with plenty of pillows and smelt lovely and clean, we had evening meal in the restaurant and it was lovely ,the staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was terrific, it was just on the outskirts of Harrogate, which suited us, and the surroundings were lovely, in summer it will be glorious i think.

just a minor thing, no lift, i am awaiting a knee replacement, and i struggled with the stairs, and the public toilet was up there, but i found at dinner there is a disabled toilet in the restaurant, the food and drinks werent over priced and all the quirky little seating areas were cool.
