We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shoulder of Mutton. The village location was stunning with fantastic views over the surroundings. We had a delicious meal on our first evening and two excellent breakfasts. The service was both friendly and efficient. Our room was one of the best we've stayed in for a long while. It was spacious and comfortable, with a sparkling clean well appointed bathroom. We would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to explore the area around Leeds, Harrogate and Wetherby.

Lovely quaint old village pub with a roaring fire. A quiet place to get away from it all for an evening. The food was lovely and the chef made an effort to bring classics with a little twist. The staff attentive and welcoming. Good choice at breakfast, snd we liked the fact that the breakfast was included in the room price. Some nice little touches around the room - teas, coffees and biscuits, and they brought up some milk for us. We came for a 'date night' away from kids but it could be a good place to stay if you're a rambler or visiting family and friends in the area.

It was all lovely. It rained and not a lot to do in the village in those circumstances but that was in no-one's control!

The Shoulder of Mutton is in a beautiful little village, the staff there were fantastic, polite and gave us lots of tips to enjoy our break all the more. Our room was of very good size with a large bed and on-site bath room, decorated with great taste but simple. We had a very good menu for breakfast and everything was cooked fresh with local produce, nothing at the shoulder of mutton was to much to ask. Richard and Kate have an amazing pub and both pub and accommodation were very clean, they seem to take great pride in their establishment. I do hope one day we get the chance to go back. would really recommend this for a short break in the country. Thank you Richard, Kate and staff for making our stay so lovely. Alison and Tanya

I consider finding this accommodation a hidden gem. Beautiful rural location, good parking, new rooms with added luxury feel and the staff went out of their way to accommodate everything we needed from pre arrival to departure to make our mid week trip to Harrogate as comfortable and enjoyable as it could have been. To that end I consider it value for money when you can leave somewhere and not have anything that could have been improved upon. Would definitely recommend and would book again myself.

This is a suite not just an ensuite bedroom. Spacious, clean, comfortable & quiet ground floor accommodation. Super king size bed, with a good en-suite shower. (no bath). separate room with tv, sofa, chair, dining table, kitchenette with fridge, microwave & sink. Clean towels & bed linen. Recently renovated outbuilding. Pub open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner. (very handy). Quintessential Yorkshire pub & village. Friendly staff. Do pop into boutique shop in court yard & the church is worth a visit. Location great for Harrogate & Whetherby. Do visit Mother Shipton’s Cave. Harlow Carr also worth visiting

The location was very nice and peaceful, the scenery was lovely. Breakfast was very good also, you chose want you wanted from a menu, it was fresh and the food was served hot. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

There was no dressing table with a mirror or stool to sat at. This would have been ideal for when drying hair, etc. Other than this everything was very good.

Great staff, a very cosy atmosphere and nice ‘home cooked’ food. The breakfast was nicely served direct from the kitchen. The bedroom was top notch, spacious, a very comfortable large bed, super large towels and bathrobes and a walk in shower. Top marks for the Shoulder of Mutton!

The village in which the premises are located is lovely and within easy travelling distance of Harrogate, York, Knaresborough etc. Our accommodation was very roomy, newly fitted out and well supplied with toiletries, drinks etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good and lunch and dinner menus offered good choices of well prepared food.

Exceptional find ....stayed for a couple of nights ...the room was super ...comfy beds ...nice little touches added tea & coffee & toiletries . Every member of staff was so polite and well mannered . The food in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast was exceptional.

Not the easiest place to get a taxi

Fantastic suite, very clean and with little extras that make the stay special. The welcome was very friendly and the food both in the evening and for breakfast was of a very high standard.

It is a shame the only view from the room was of the car park, with a little sitting area overlooking the cars. But that is all.
