We've been to the Ben Mhor before and gave it 8/10 that time. I came quite close to 7/10 this time because the matress on our bed was very tired (but clean!) and the shower was very weak but the value for money , friendly staff and location in the middle of Grantown made up for most of this. Staff are friendly and helpful (as is pretty much everyone you meet in Grantown, one of the reasons we come back so often), meals in your room are no problem and they're dog-friendly. This is a fine, very reasonably-priced hotel.

As I noted above, the mattress was quite tired (you could feel the springs) and the shower was hard to work and rather weak but we were just visiting for one night so it wasn't a problem.

Good location, on main street, about a block away from the tree lined area. Plenty of restaurants in the area.

The hotel required payment outside of the usual booking.com process. Usually booking.com forwards payment using card on file. In this case they wanted us to pay directly, so a little concerning. They also asked for date of birth for each guest. In my opinion TMI. Also, they used a lot of technology in communicating with us before, during and after the stay, however they still use old fashion door keys for the rooms!

Room and location was fantastic. In the middle of new owners doing renovation work, going to need more staff as the person running the reception desk was also running the bar, waiting tables and pulling pints. But no complaints. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the bed was superb.

The food menu was individually itemised, you had to order every ingredient of a MEAL separately. Never seen that method of hospitality before, very odd idea.

Second time we have been there and yet again was not disappointed with the overall hotel and its facilities and its good to see that there is work going on to constantly improve the look of the hotel interior

The only problems I had were the sign for the car park is not easy to find and could be bigger and also the games in the games room could do with getting serviced / fixed as my kids wanted to play on some of them but they were not working and we even had issues with the pool table but one of the employees fixed them when we had them

This hotel is good value for money, basic but has everything you need for a stay. Good hot shower, TV in bedroom and comfotable beds. On site parking is a bonus. It is much cheaper than other places, even the hostel in Aviemore so I would rather stay here and then be able to have money to spend supporting other local businesses in the area by being able to eat out.

For the value paid here I think everything is good. There isnt anything I would say that i didnt like.

Super friendly and helpful staff. We had our supper served at the bar area which was very cosy and well decorated. The food itself was delicious and reasonably priced. I loved the fact that the main meals didn't have chips and other sides included by default and had to be ordered separately as I don't normally eat those. This meant that there was no waste and I've spent less on my meal than usual. I would gladly stay here again!

Ideal for us...parked right outside the door..bar for evening tipple...airy room ..I thought main street traffic would disturb but no...had to have window open as so warm...yes really 20+'...Good room...walls like paper but it was fine Fabulous breakfast....

Water from upstairs room shower leaked but a bucket caught it and staff on it straight away. Pillows very thin...sitting up in bed wasn't comfy

Really friendly staff, room was a decent size. Thai restaurant joined onto hotel is brilliant, their staff helped my partner carry our order (on proper restaurant dishes not takeaway containers) up to our room. Main course (massaman curry) was tasty but not a patch on the mixed starter which was amazing. Lovely town to wander and some cracking walks nearby. Dog friendly. Chinese takeaway across the road was fab too.

The bed wasn't the comfiest I've slept in but still got a decent sleep. The shower cubicle was small and the lights kept going out in the bathroom. Still wouldn't put me off staying again or recommending.

A simple place in some respects, but the general atmosphere, with friendly staff, is very nice. An element of it's simplicity is that evening food is served in the bar but I found the menu very impressive, including stating you just had to ask if you wanted some things done slightly differently. No issues getting my bike put somewhere secure. Breakfast was very good.

Nothing.
