The location was great. Our room was small but really nice, the bed was comfortable and we loved the fact that we could top up our coffee + milk everyday. There is a nice 'pantry' there available for us to use - which included having a bowl of cereal in the mornings and some bottled water. There was also access to an iron. Overall setup is great!

Might be a bit tricky finding the location of the rooms as they are above the bar. We went into the tavern to find out about the rooms and thankfully we were in the right place. We couldn't hear any noise from downstairs so no need to worry about that.

The Tavern is very nice Staff very friendly We did the quiz night that was fun, staff very helpful on directions places to visit .The room was very clean nice bathroom very comfortable bed slept really well. Very little noise from outside you dont hear the bar or the on site theatre Only one thing would stop me booking again is the stairs but thats just me and my health . but I would recommend The Tavern , its on a great bus route 8 Bristol Zoo within walking distance bus and taxi very responsible , very nice frendly area night and day. Go for the day any bus ticket £5.50 hop on & off Take a ferry down the river.

I liked the cereals and water that were available for free

I didn't like that I had a problem organising the check in Booking confirmed my request for late check in and then the hotel said they don't do late check in and that I had to call to organise. But at the end I said they had to organise it because first it costs to call in England and also because iit was not my fault if they didn't communicate well with booking and they accepted and organised it. Which is nice ! So thank you

Great location, easy free parking at the weekend, friendly staff and easy to check in, great decor and comfortable, light room with a really good shower and bathroom!!! The room comes with coffee and tea making facilities and there is a small breakfast bar with complementary milk, cereal and water. We tried out the pub below which was also great. I would love to come back and watch a show as it has a theatre. The room was good value for money for Bristol.

If I came back I would ask for extra pillows as the room only comes with 1 each.

We need to climb up narrow stairs with luggages. Coz there is a bar on the ground floor, noisy at late night especially when the bar closed. There are strict rules limiting us not to disturb others including deposit deduction penalty. But the time we are disturbed, we can‘t have any say!

I loved the place, it's history and the general vibe. Location is excellent and I'll definitely stay again. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food but no reason I wouldn't eat there next time.

There is a damp musty smell in the lower stairwell but don't be put off, as you get upstairs is clean, bright and comforable.

Although we took a taxi to get to the Alma Tavern Boutique the bus stop was a 5 minute walk. The street was relatively quiet, which was nice. There was a bit of noise from the patrons on the Tavern but that's to be expected. Nothing too crazy. This place was gorgeous, the Tavern seemed well liked as it was generally busy and there's also a theater on the middle level. So there was always something to do to keep entertained. Staff were lovely, very pleasant and accommodating and the complimentary cereal and water bar was a lovely plus.

What wasn't great was that there are lots of stairs to the room and no lift. We had quite a few bags to take up and down. But that's honestly it....that wasn't something we did every day, just the day we arrived and the day we left.

love the location, loved the pub, and really liked the room and it was very cosy. the kitchen area (in the lobby) worked really well. thank you for a lovely stay and I would definitely come back

slightly noisy outside my window at night, up until 10:30ish. also, the radiator was very hot and I couldn’t seem to turn it down effectively

Great comfortable room, perfect location for where we wanted to be, nice to have Tea and coffee, very quiet and great bathroom

I was quite surprised to have to pay a £150 deposit as I’ve never done this on booking before, however it was returned very quickly. Also the shower tray didn’t drain very well so overflowed onto. the bathroom floor. Nothing major though

Interesting location, stayed there for a birthday celebration of friends, 15min walk away. Only been there for sleeping but staff were very helpful, pub is very nice. Simple breakfast (cereals), water and coffee/tea available. Ironing available. No noise.
