The Melville Hotel - Central Location0

Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Helpful and will adore your pooch. Very doggie friendly place. Dogs can enjoy the bar with other dogs and the place is in a very good central location. There isn’t parking available however , just a mere 750yards from hotel is an overnight 24hour multi-storey car park which cost £12 a night.

The Friday night we arrived we had an awful nights sleep. The people staying above us were arguing which we unfortunately due to the older state of the building and very thin walls heard the most part untill early hours off the morning which means we spent a good amount of time on Saturday trying to catch up on missed sleep.

Central location close to all tourist attractions and train station. Public car parking less than a minute away. Hotel was clean and staff super friendly. Overall a very pleasant stay. I will be recommending this accommodation to my colleagues for future stays.

Rooms at the back could be a bit noisy at night with the guests at nearby hotel using rear smoking/outside area no fault of the Melville's though. The kitchen extractor fan (I think that's what causes the noise) started around 7am and is a bit noisy. Bathrooms could do with a bit updating and overall wouldn't hurt from a lick of paint. However after just starting to recover from the pandemic it could be that finanaces are not available to do this at present.

The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. It was the perfect location for winter gardens

There were 2 beds in the room.. mine was dipped in the middle and very very uncomfortable. Both ends of the bed were up in the air, i didnt complaint as id already moved from a hotel that had moved me 3 times on our first day and this hotel was betrer than where we had been. My daughters bed was perfect. Down by the shower it was a little grubby, i appreciate its a hard to reach area but the cleaners should at least try. Maybe get a tooth brush around the seal of the shower. Other thab that perfect

We were at the darts at winter gardens and this location was perfect. Literally across the road. We had booked a parking space at the rear of the property where we were directed too. We then gained access to the property and a staff member shown us to our room. The rooms were clean and standard for what was required. Towels,bedding, tea and coffee facilities and soap provided. Very good price and just why we needed. The bar was good and staff were super friendly

The breakfast was 8.30 am - 9.30am This was too early for us as we had been drinking the night before. Sadly we missed the breakfast. It would of been nice if it was u til 10.30

The location, cleanliness and general feel of the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was lovely and came quickly. We stayed for the match play darts and the location was fantastic. We will definitely stay again. Looking at booking again and bringing the kids this time

No soap in the rooms for hand washing, I brought my own shower gel but I've never stayed somewhere where I had to take my own hand soap, the shower was lovely and powerful but the tray filled up quickly with water and I had to turn the pressure down while it drained.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We found they all worked extra shifts doing jobs that were not their usual jobs. The hotel was run very smoothly even though they had a staff shortage. One member of staff waited on tables at breakfast, in the evening he was pulling pints in the bar. The bar lady, Sarah worked very hard one night, serving at the bar, tending reception and bingo caller! One young man who helped us at the lift was seeing to the laundry on changeover day, earlier he was cooking in the kitchen. But always a friendly smile. Good entertainment too.

the location was excellent along with the price. Breakfast was great. Staff were amazing. Alex deserves a special mention. you have a true asset there. makes everyone feel welcome and always has a smile on his face.

The cleaners. pretty bad. Bathroom bin wasn’t emptied from previous guests. a used sanitary pad was in the bathroom bin. Gross. Cups weren’t cleaned or changed each day. I think they made the beds. not too sure on that one as they were a bit of a mess. someone’s else’s hair in the bathroom sink and generally dirty. rooms are really tired and ours stunk of curry when we arrived. pretty sure they may be slowly decorating as signs mentioned that. Good idea.

Location excellent, close to seafront and central shopping centre, on the doorstep of winter gardens. Lots of parking in surrounding areas. Staff extremely helpful, friendly and attentive, also went out of their way to make us feel welcome with our dog., pampering him and giving him treats.

Room quiet small for a double and a little tired decor wise, assumed this is because we had a dog, but was pleasant enough and clean. Tv on wall above kettle not comfortable watching from bed or sitting on bed, would be best placed facing you.

The staff were great, very helpful. The hotel is just less than 5 minute walk to all amenities such as car park, shopping centre and very close to the beach. Bed very comfortable, we had a shower and a bath which was great, room clean and tidy. Will be staying again

Our room was around the back and over looked the hotel next door. The noise from there was quite bad even into the night chucking glass into bins and residents in the yard smoking, they had their back door open so we could hear all the bar noise. Will ask for room at the front next time.

Good food staff willing to help and excellent customer service Danielle works very hard and is always smiling and staff behind reception always willing to help and bar was well stocked reasonably priced
