The Hog's Head Inn was an excellent place to stay for five nights, giving easy access to the area in and around Alnwick. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and everything was at hand, and clean and tidy. The environment of the Inn made you feel comfortable with as much privacy as you desired. A varied menu provided well cooked food that was tasty and wholesome. One great idea was offering a free drink each night if you were prepared to forego having your room serviced. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting the area.

I cannot think of anything I disliked.

The room was spacious and clean on arrival. Everything in the room was in good order and functioning. The bed was spacious and comfortable. Evening meal options are nice a good range although after 3 evenings limited for vegetarians. Breakfast the same every morning but I would say a decent range of cooked, fruit, Cereal and toast - A fairly industry standard buffet style. Things made specifically on request - Such as delicious porridge.

Quite airless in the room despite the windows being open. Thank you for the fan it was a great help. Eco drive - offering a drink instead of room cleaning. We did enjoy a free drink and we didn't need our room cleaned daily. On the one occasion we did want the room cleaned - towels were not replaced. They stay damp with limited hanging space to dry. - Maybe an airer would have helped? I think the scheme works better for shorter stays over longer stays.

Bathroom is small, but it has space for your stuff. The room is large enough, it has a good sized safe, view was on the parking lot (it is ok) and fields. Was not too close to the nearby highway (which would have made the room quite noisy), I would advise people to check on maps because it is nowhere in the description. Ample parking, the entrance is hidden behind a series of tables in he open air (the ones shown in the main picture of the Hotel). Food is very good, one has to try the burgers, the fish and chips and the Northumberland Cheese Croquettes (mmm!!!) Buffet breakfast is rich and tasty. Coffe pot and biscuits on the desk, and good ones. It has lift to the rooms, large, good for the luggage. Entry to and exit from the room section only by electronic card. Good for safety. Room are sound proofed. Bed is comfy.

The position is not in Alnwick itself, but next and into the industrial aerea. If you have a car it is ok, otherwise choose another one. We had to wait quite a while to check-in as all the personnel was 'busy' :')). One thing I did not like is that, traveling with my son of 12, warm chocolate and milk for breakfast was available only upon request and for an extra charge. For the price paid it was a bit expensive.

The room was spacious and comfortable. It was quite warm while we were staying there and a fan was provided to give better airflow. The restaurant on property did not require a reservation to eat there and the food was AMAZING. There is a McDonalds and a convenient store (with a Greggs) right across the parking lot making quick bites or needs easy to access.

This was father outside of Alnwick than we anticipated. Our phones were not making phone calls and that was the only way to get a Taxi from the train station. We ended up taking the train to Alnwick center and walking to the hotel and that was a treak that I wouldn't do again with our luggage. Our room looked out onto the highway so if the sound of traffic bothers you this might not be the best stay for you.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The room was spacious, warm, quiet and comfortable with good quality towels in the bathroom. The breakfast was much better than I was expecting with fresh fruit salad available and a cook who was prepared to provide poached eggs rather than the fried ones on offer. The staff were all helpful and pleasant and they allowed us to book in much earlier than arranged.

I would suggest that you provide more detailed directions about finding the hotel. The description of a 5 minute drive to the centre of Alnmouth failed to mention that we were on a business park with a series of major roads, roundabouts and junctions to negotiate to get to the centre and the distinct possibility of ending up back on the A1 if we took the wrong turn. None of this would have happened if we had known that the hotel was on Cawledge Business Park as this was clearly signposted.

The location, bar and restaurant area, and the staff were all great. Breakfast was included with price and had a good selection to choose from. We stayed for Sunday lunch and that was excellent and reasonably priced. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and sofa meant we could relax while getting ready to go out. The fan was welcome given the heat too.

The only issue was the bath had black marks when we got there and could have done with more hoovering. Cups and plates had some stains at breakfast also which, given the cost per night, was a little disappointing. Also, we wanted a quiet room and were facing the main entrance instead, which meant the wedding party woke us up at 1 AM. However, that was due to inconsiderate guests, not the staff or inn.

Hotel easy walking distance into Alnwick village (10 minutes). Large hotel, rooms very spacious, large & equipped with everything you need for the stay. Bed was comfy & rooms spotless. Breakfast was buffet style, good choice & tasty. Lunch & evening food from menu was plentiful & tasted lovely. Good choice of soft, alcoholic & coffee drinks. Staff friendly.

Restaurant at breakfast, lunch & evenings we found was very busy & plates were not cleared away. Desserts were served with dinner plates not being cleared away as the restaurant appeared short staffed. That being said, staff were friendly & worked hard.

Quality of the rooms and the facilities for us as a couple. Food was very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

I booked an accessible room for my parents as mum has mobility problems. Unfortunately the room allocated had a shower over the bath rather than a wet room. We asked for her to be moved but only standard rooms with shower cubicles were available. My parents made the best of this but it was still a struggle for mum as she missed having the grab rails around the room that she would have had if she'd been able to stay in the accessible room. I would like to suggest that all accessible rooms are designed with wet rooms or shower cubicles as it is unlikely that any disabled person could climb into a bath to bathe or shower.

Staff were very helpful and very committed. The breakfast was excellent. The evening meals were good but could do with a bit more vegetarian options. Loved the idea of reuse of towels and room service in exchange for a drink. Very innovative and very effective.

Food was a bit of a challenge for vegetarians but it did not dramatically affect the stay. There was some dog fouling in outside table area that remained there all the week we stayed. Don’t particularly like dogs nor the foul that goes with it.

For a roadside Inn this is of a very good standard. Rooms and bathroom were spacious clean and comfortably furnished. Full cooked breakfast was of an unusually high quality from the self serve buffet. Massive car park with a service station and charge points within 50 meters. Excellent access to and from the A1 and Alnwick a 5-10 min drive

Needs better healthier options for breakfast. No natural yoghurt (ideally with live cultures) and only ultra processed 0% fat fruit yoghurt- yuk Sourdough bread option would also be appreciated
