The Lazy Lodge

we loved absolutely everything about this place. the bungalows were incredible, modern chic, spacious and just by the beach. the staff were faultless - we couldn’t have asked for anymore from them in terms of hospitality. the food and drinks were some of the best we’ve had in Thailand. the resort had thought of everything - water bottles for you to refill, towels for beach and bath, tours, transfers - there was just nothing that wasn’t thought of. im surprised about the breakfast rating - not sure what you can complain about - waiter service - plenty of options. we read comments about noise but it really wasn’t an issue - some nights there was some noise but not every night and nothing that would keep you up. we can honestly say having stayed in many many 5* resorts - this is 5 stars and more. it’s quiet, it’s small but it’s perfect and every guest is treated like family. I’m not sure we’ll ever find a place like it.

I loved the stay at the Lazy Lodge. Very relaxed during my week there. Great people, great appartement, great views and good food. Highly recommended.

During low season, not all bars and other places are open, but take an excursion or rent a bike and have a look around the island.

Lovely stay at the Lazy Lodge! Staff were very smiling, welcoming and happy to help with any asks. The bungalows were a good size and in a cosy Thai style. The property is right on the beach (not really crowded at all despite it being high season and was very clean). Providing water bottles was also a good idea to avoid too many plastic bottles. A lot of people have commented about noise from neighbouring bars, but since the bungalow was at the back, I didn't find it an issue so perhaps request a room at the back just in case (they do provide earplugs). In all a peaceful stay. I also highly recommend the on site massages!

Nothing really! Maybe adding a small pool would be a nice touch, but the again you are metres from the sea.

The Lazy Lodge was outstanding, to the point where we spent most of our time in the accommodation. The rooms are modern, comfortable and clean, but the shared day beds and eating areas were the highlight. The accommodation has direct access to a beach, and you can order food and drink at any time to enjoy watching the view. There was always someone around clearing weeds/fallen leaves to make everything pristine. Breakfast was also quite nice, relatively basic but good for Thailand. There is mention of noise by both previous reviewers and the resort, but we didn’t notice this at all!

Although the non-breakfast food was yummy, we found a few hairs in our curries which put us off from ordering again. Additionally, while the staff were beautiful and kind, there was a language barrier greater than expected, which made it tricky to sort out some minor issues or order a taxi correctly.

Perfect beachfront location. Clean and nice room. Comfortable bed. Excellent cleaning service. Affordable, nice smell and well folded. Good food. Helpful and responsive staff, including with organising transfers with the caveat below.

Shared transfer to Krabi through the hotel was annoying as it did not take us to Ao Nang as agreed but only to Krabi town where we were asked to get out and had to arrange for transfer ourselves. Moreover driver was rude. Breakfast could be more generous and tastier. All portions are very small regardless of the option chosen. Same is true for other meals we had at the hotel (lunch or dinner) but to be fair we found this to be generally the case in Phuket/Krabi. Room’s doors/windows were not completely closing and door had an annoying system to open. However, the mosquito net around the bed partly compensated for that.

The team were exceptional - every encounter was amazing and nothing was too much for anyone. The bungalow was so delightfully designed and chique in an authentic Thai style with all the modern comforts. We chose the beach front and essentially we didn’t leave the lodge because so captivating - food, breakfast, cocktails, beach, massage, views etc. The ratio of guests to lounges, beach side was so lovely you could always find a spot.

There was nothing that we didn’t like !

This was by far the best hotel we visited in Thailand and we traveled around from north to south. We slept in 9 different hotels, all at least 4 stars. So we have enough to compare. It was so so so beautiful, the location was perfect and the staff was incredibly friendly! Definitely going back.

There was no pool but literally the ocean is your garden! Amazing place. So great! I'm still dreaming of it and it is already 4 months ago ;-)

We absolutely loved The Lazy Lodge. The cabins are stylish and comfortable, the garden is beautiful, the restaurant is great (recommend trying the authentic Thai dishes and the Swedish pancakes for breakfast). The staff is welcoming and friendly, Coco was a fantastic help in booking activities like a mangrove tour. While most of the island was very quiet and a lot of places closed -due to green/rainy season- the Lazy Lodge was up and running and offered all services. On sunny days there was the option to book a massage right there on the beach.

It is incredibly sad to see the amount of pollution that washes up on the beach every day. I am not sure if this is better in high season due to weather conditions or clean-up actions.

What a great place! We loved room A1, a single cottage up front of 9 total at The Lazy Lodge, situated directly on Klong Khong Beach. Other venues like Klong Khong Restaurant, Cigare Bar or Mushroom Bar are only a few steps away. The room is very functional and surprisingly spacious, all designed very well and prettily, too, with things properly thought through. The bed's very comfy, even for troubled backs, shower and bathroom are pretty and functional. Massages from I am Massage are right there, as are reception, restaurant and bar. Breakfast was great (portions were way too big for us, so we usually took half of a package and had plenty), with many choices from eggs & bacons to jogurt & müesli, pancakes or fried rice. Lunch and dinner were equally great, we especially enjoyed the curries and ended up eating inhouse the whole time. The team is incredibly kind and helpful, everybody is genuinely friendly and they appear to enjoy working there and together. So fun to be around!

If there is one thing one could miss, it would be a small fresh water pool. And if you are a light sleep, be aware that you are right on the beach: party music can be heard and The Lazy Lodge provides ear plugs in each room.
