Lanta Castaway Beach Resort

I had my own bungalow which was amazing and cozy. There was a lot of storage space in the room and the bed was comfortable. Cleaning stuff were professional. The shower worked very well. There were mosquito nets on the doors and windows which was very practical because there were a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings. The beach was next to the hotel and had easy access to swim and beautiful sunsets. The hotel had its own sun beds reserved only for customers. Extra points for the beautiful well-kept garden. The restaurant was next to the beach and the breakfast (which was served to tables) and other food and drink menu was really good and lot of choises. Ladies who served the breakfast were very sweet. Also there was 7eleven and restaurants nearby. I recommend the hotel especially for couples, solo travelers and those traveling with friends who likes small, cozy hotels where all the details have been thought out.

Resort was perfect and there was everything we needed. We stayed two weeks and it was so good. Breakfast included to our reservation and we get to choose from the menu list. Breakfast was okay, pretty decent. We ate few times on the resorts restaurant but then decided to eat elsewhere. Food is ok, but little overpriced and you can get better and cheaper food from a restaurant just next to. But if you are tired and don't want to leave or you just want to eat by the sea and watch the sunset, it's totally worth it! The beachbar was so great! Maybe little overpriced, BUT you get the beach view !! Beach was super. It was so great to start mornings with little beach walk and swim a little. What was best, was the bungalow! We loved it!! It was super cozy and you get a housekeeping and cleaning every day! Please remember to leave a little tip to the maids! On the resort you can also go to the massage. That was so great! There's also diving and snorkeling opportunity but we skipped that. You can also rent a motorbike by the reception. You can get a little cheaper rents elsewhere on the village, but we thought that this was easy way to avoid the scams. And it was easy to get and return the bike by the resort. After stayed two weeks on Lanta and discovered whole island by motorbike, we thought that the location was actually really good. Could be the best on the island. Staff was super friendly and helpful!

Food on the restaurant could be more tasty. Some people might miss a swimming pool. We did not need that! In the end, everything was perfect! Would totally stay again on Castaway Resort!

This was a delightful smallish hotel right by an enormous (empty) west facing beach. About fifteen minutes from the ferry and about a one hour 45 minute transfer from Krabi Airport. It had the great benefit of an excellent restaurant on site where they served a wide variety of mainly Thai food. my comfortable room had a sea view at premium cost, but worth taking and it was crawling distance for me from the bar. Restaurant, reception and room staff could not have been more charming or delightful. Additional benefit of being set in a beautifully kept garden.

I have nothing negative to say. Joe the manager told me that the hotel was shut for 21 months due to COVID and so he needs all the help he can get ! I strongly recommend the place

Absolutely gorgeous little resort with everything you may wish for your holiday. We stayed in a larger garden villa and found it comfortable, spacious and clean. Staff is extremely friendly and lovely. All possible amenities outside, this is a very good part of a Long Beach part of a road. I’ve been to Lanta many times and enjoyed this part of the road the most. The hotel part of a beach has some rocks but it gives it a character. None of the rocks are sharp and the entrance to the water is smooth. We swam 3 times a day when tide was in and out and didn’t find any issues. I would say it’s probably the best part as you have a bit of a bay instead of a straight Long Beach effect in other areas.

We really enjoyed our stay and only small criticism we have is that the AC in the villa worked only on fan. It was impossible to cool the room to the temperature we needed at night. Still we loved the place and had a great holiday

Spatious, confortable and very clean bungalows,surrounded by a well maintained garden. Delicious breakfast and good restaurant a la carte. The main asset is the staff, always smily, super kind and ready to help. Our family had a greater time in Lanta Castaway and would definitely recommend it.

The resort is located right on the beach nearby a stream which most likely passes through the nearby village. We preferred to swim on the right hand side of the river where the water seemed to be cleaner.

Upon arrival I was just shocked by the beauty of the beach front. This was our first Oceanside place on our trip but still so nice. The beach is extremely accessible with decent snorkelling right in front of the resort. Great restaurant, great service, clean and private bungalows. They gave us two free massage tokens upon arrival which was a nice surprise and the ocean front massage set up was great. The front desk was SO helpful for booking tours, scooters, and transport out at competitive prices. Breakfast were awesome. Good coffee :) I did my open water scuba course with the attached Relax and Dive and the connivence of that was perfect. Great shop and nice way to do a course that your partner isn’t in, makes it easy to meet up after. The staff was so friendly! Can’t be said enough.

This is a lovely, classy beach resort. Very well maintained, nice design, good value, quiet, comfortable bungalows with a porch you can use. Staff were wonderful, food was great and you can book excursions on site. Nice beach chairs in the sand and on the deck. Beautiful views. If you walk out to the main road , take a right go past the 7 11 we found a great place to eat, the Cozy Restaurant.

Not any fault of this very lovely resort but the beach has some rocks, particularly at low tide so it wasn't that fun for swimming but if you walked down a little to the right it was easier.

The food was great and the location was well-suited for me since I decided to dive straight from the on-site resort. I really enjoyed the diving and this place was very convenient for that. They also have a nice bar and good food, there are other cheaper options as well located in the area. The grounds are beautifully maintained. This place attracts many return visitors, many old-timers.

I'm not sure this can be fixed, but they advise not to open the windows during the evening, and you can hear everyone's air conditioners. I also thought the bungalows are too close together. This was a bit disappointing because I was looking for something a little more natural in this way. I also think the music at the bar could be mixed up as I found the pop songs too repetitive.

This resort is outstanding. By far the best that we have stay ed in since coming to Thailand 5 weeks ago. The attention to detail in the beautifully decorated rooms is exceptional, the stunning well tended gardens and the friendly staff as well as the delicious meals in the restaurant make this a place we cannot recommend enough. We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 6.

The beach can become quite littered as result of the waves but there are volunteers who clean Long Beach on Sundays. It would be great if the different resorts could get together and appoint people to pick up the plastc bottles etc daily.

The staff were fantastic, really going the extra mile to ensure our stay could be as good as possible, organising taxi pickup, early breakfast, and shipping a few items we forgot at the accommodation all without extra charge. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good AC. Breakfast was good, you're essentially given a few options to order from.

Their motorcycle rental was a little overpriced compared to other accommodations / rentals (300 baht per day vs 200 at other locations). At a similar price point, it was not as pretty / vibey as Long Beach Chalet, which we stayed at previously.
