Most negative reviews here were most likely submitted by nitpickers: “it’s too remote”, “it needs renovation”, “bars at pool are unmanned”, “staff doesn’t speak English”, “breakfast sucks”, etc. Let me shine some light on those comments. First of all, we were dropped of at the reception which looked quite impressive (like a huge tipi). All girls spoke English, albeit one better than the other. After checking in, renting 2 scooters (rental company ppl speak English too) took an extra 5 minutes and we were dropped of at our apartment. We stayed in room 346, one of the poolview villas. We thought the room was lovely: much light, nice bed with a soft matras, tv was fine, the whole apartment is tastefully decorated and also has a big terras outside. Aana resort is definitely not new, but it is clean and neat. Optically the woodwork (everywhere) seems a bit worn, but that doesn’t have any influence on the overall experience. Breakfast. 2 very friendly (English speaking) cooks, 1 fairly big guy and a girl, will prepare eggs for you, just the way you like them. Besides that, there’s Thai food, sausages, bread, and other western options available. The bars at the pool are unmanned. I didn’t ask why, but if (in 4 days) never seen more than 4 people in and around the pool at the same moment. Seems ridiculous to open a bar for a handful of people. Aana Resort is only 800 meters away from an area with many restaurants, street food & fruits, coffee bars, etc. It’s NOT remote. I would definitely recommend Aana!

Nothing really.

We stayed in the River view villa with plunge pool, The clean comfy rooms, great staff, the boat that takes you to the secret beach is great aswell. There is a tour booking agent at reception for boat trips off Koh Chang and back to bangkok, also will help with scooter hire etc. The resort is relatively quiet at most times and the swimming pools are great.

The location isn't as convenient as other resorts with no minimarts or 7/11 and the street food is a fair distance away. This is fixed by hiring a scooter from the accommodation, 250baht for 125cc 24/hr

the setting of the hotel is beautiful, you feel completely part of nature and this made it extra special for us. we loved the room, the bed was a delight to sleep in. our room had a plunge pool an a lovely view of the river. the hotel has 2 very nice pools however due to the rain we never got to use, but that was fine by us. the restaurant was delicious, we eat there several times, genuine local Eastern Thai food.

the rooms are getting slightly tired, but due to the rustic setting it didn't bother me to much. more veggie options for breakfast please, I was limited to egg on toast, Koh Chang chickens must eat well because the eggs were super tasty.

Upon check-out took too long and accused us of taking hair dryer that we never used and when I went back to room it was there where I told them it was.

The service was really good and the quality in general for the price is also great. Breakfast was super - and the room too.

The airconditioning was kind of old and made quite a lot of noise - a new one with a sleep mode on it would be nice.

Beautiful setting on the edge of the river with mountain views and close to a lovely beach. The hotel puts on a free boat ride to/from the beach, which takes about 4 minutes and runs frequently throughout the day. There is also a free boat trip to see fireflies in the evenings. I think some of the negative reviews on here are quite unfair. The staff are very sweet and friendly, and will help you to book excursions/taxis etc. As with everywhere in Thailand, the hotel is currently recovering from heavy Covid restrictions. Although the bar by the pool isn't open, you can order food and drinks using the telephone by the pool and the staff will bring them to you at your sun lounger. The main restaurant and bar are fully open and the food is delicious.

Really polite staff, charming hotel, okay breakfast, nice private beach even though you had too get a shuttleboat there (took ~5 mins). I can see myself going here again if i ever come back.

-Nearly no hot water in shower (Im assuming from having a small water heater so other guests used it up) -would have liked a map in the room -The spa area (massage) was extremtly overpriced to the point that I don't believe they actually wanted customers. (The beach massage however was excellent and cheap.)

Really lovely and beautiful spot. the two pools and beach meant it always felt quiet and relaxing with options. breakfast was good but fairly standard buffet

minor point to note that if you don’t have a scooter/ car then it is quite a walk to the nearest 7/11 etc. and there are only a handful of really close restaurants for example. The on site restaurant for dinner was fairly expensive vs the quality of the food and there are better places nearby to eat.

beautiful resort, nestled almost like you’re in the jungle. it felt very rustic and authentic, lovely staff and the most idyllic beach where the free boat takes you to, with the best sunsets on the island. massive comfy beds with mosquito nets over, which made us feel a little more comfortable. loved it so much, we are cutting our next stay down in Bang Bao to go back for a few more nights! there’s a few restaurants near by in walking distance and we walked to the waterfall. you can also see the elephants from some of the rooms, where you can go and feed them.

A little tired in places, but does add to the rustic charm.

It's a beautiful setting and peaceful. The restaurant staff were super friendly. Room was large with a nice terrace. It was great being able to take the boat down to the beach. We loved the breakfast and found it to have a wide selection compared to comparable properties in Thailand/Viet Nam and Cambodia. There's not much in immediate vicinity, we knew this in advance and it suited us. WiFi was fast, even in the rooms.

The pool water looked murky at best. The place needs some TLC, but that is to be expected just as things are starting to pick up "after Covid".
