Royal River Kwai Resort and Spa -SHA Extra Plus

Fabulous location, pool, gardens. Wonderful riverside restaurant for evening dining. Top quality, value for money, cuisine. Soft lighting under the trees, great musician providing relaxing background music, lovely waiters and staff generally. Good breakfast too

We stayed Friday to Monday but we were woken on Saturday and Sunday morning from 5h30 am for an hour of loud temple music coming from the other side of the River Kwai. Reception staff said this only happens at weekends but it’s a big problem for light sleepers like myself.

This is my fourth time at the Royal River Kwai Resort and it was the best one yet. We stayed in the cheapest room they offer and it was excellent. Beautifully designed with hardwood furniture and wall paneling, it has a bathroom with a tub and tasteful beige tiling. As always, the bed was great, everything worked as it should, the nights are always quiet and without a sound and the swimming pool (RRKR's main attraction) was perfect as always. One has to visit this place and see the outstanding landscaping and all around package to really experience the excellence of Thailand's tourism. Room was the equivalent of $65 per night and the excellent Thai food dinner for 2 on a beautiful riverside deck cost $25!

I can't think of anything I would change about this place

Nice Thai style setting directly at the river with a very nice riverside restaurant. The pool is old style and up to 2 m deep. Realy good for swimming. Staff were very friendly. I liked very much the friendly policy not asking for deposits.

Matress and pillows are stone hard. They gave us softer pillows after we asked twice for it.

We travel a lot and therefor visit a lot of hotels. But this one is by far the best ever. The location is heavenly, the river Kwai floats alongside the hotel. The rooms are very nice, if we need to make one comment it is that the beds were a little too hard for our liking. But the bonus is the lovely staff, the garden and the swimming pool. We would love to come back one day.

Nothing at all!

Love the hotel's by the river location and it's Thai architecture and garden. The pool nicely setup next to the river, large enough to cater for both adult and children. Dinner at Sui restaurant is a must try, to enjoy the River Kwai atmosphere. The food are tasty with attentive service, and offer live performance during weekend. Room is spacious with great balcony. Happy that the staff already prepare all the amenities considering 3 people in the room as I come with my wife and 7yo son Good breakfast experience. They provided good food selection, combining Thai and Western cuisine. The staff also very attentive, suggesting the choice food considering we cannot eat pork.

It’s a very nice place full of nature and a great view of the river. You can relax and enjoy every spot of this place. Large pool, good food and friendly staff.

The bathroom was ok in general except for the shower. It was too low for me. I guess it was designed for someone much shorter (I’m 1.8 mts and the shower hit me at my chest)

Very nice oasis garden feeling with a great pool to rest after visiting the area. Nice restaurant along the river with quiet live music.

Restaurant and bar are closing at 9PM which is quite early. The hotel seems to be a favorite of large groups who can be noisy around the pool.

The grounds were immaculately kept. The breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were well lit and updated. The location on the river was stunning and the pool was terrific. I would definitely stay here again.

The stay itself was great. It was only when I checked out that I became annoyed. The woman at the front desk constantly stopped attending to me to answer the phone. It was very disrespectful and not appreciated.

The music from the restaurant next to the pool was quite irritating. They are located in the beautiful scenery and peaceful spot, they should have make the most use of it.

The style of the hotel, excellent location by the river, wonderful gardens and pool. Excellent food and dining ambiance. Very kind, helpful and polite staff.

The rooms have had their days and might need a refurbishment touch. A bit of musty smell in the room.
