Felix River Kwai Resort - SHA Plus,Certified

This was a great resort. It was a shame really as it was almost empty due to the COVID19 restrictions and people travelling to Thailand. The resort was huge and there was only 12 rooms which had been booked during our stay and we had 4 of those rooms. It was great for us as we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The view over looking the River Kwai was brilliant and was only a short walk from the famous River Kwai Bridge the restaurant is lovely and the food was very good. There was two big swimming pools. The staff were so polite and helpful. They went above and beyond nothing was any problem for them.

This is a spectacular resort in Kanchanaburi. The structure is quite old but the room and common space are truly huge, moreover the the wood finishing and very pleasant. The breakfast and restaurant are great, but the very gem is the garden with two spectacular swimming pools.

The resort is located outside Kanchanaburi and it is located along the river, so you won't be disturbed by traffic or city disturbance, on the other hand you will need to call a taxi every time you have to leave the resort. The room needs a refurbishment, especially on the bath room. We try to manage some services with the staff (i.e. book a day at the elephants, book a day to the waterfall, etc...) but the staff at the desk has problems to communicate in English and that caused some problems.

- Very nice Pool area - Huge room (we had the luxury suite, which was basically 3 rooms in one) - Beautiful view over the river Kwai and within walking distance to the bridge.

- Certain parts were not well maintained or a bit dated. Uncomprehensible for example was the presence of really dirty and worn out chairs by the pool (right next to the modern and decent lounge chairs) - No umbrellas near the Pool for shade: there is some protection from a few trees but if the area is busy expect to be in the sun all day. - Breakfast options were plentiful (both western and asian) but some options were not very good (for examples the waffles or french toast were not very good)

Outstanding value for money. Had the feel of a luxury hotel. You can see the bridge from the hotel gardens and you can walk across it using a shortcut about 200 metres from the lobby. Beautiful gardens and pool area. Quiet location almost idyllic

Looks very tired. Everything could do with some attention. Flakey paint dirty Sun-loungers mouldy shower curtains shower head needed replacing that kind of thing. Breakfast was okay but not outstanding. If these minor points were addressed I’d give 5 stars but considering the price I paid I’d rather things stayed as they are quite frankly!

The hotel is away from the bustling centre but close enough to walk to the bridge. We changed our room to a ground floor with river view which was great. It was big and very clean and quiet. The pools were fabulous, and great to be able to order service from the phones in the area. Did not seem that busy but there was a lot of work being done to it assuming as after the COVID lockdown. The food in the restaurant was great.

The breakfast really let itself down. It was the worst that we had on our whole trip. Everything was cold, including the eggs. The warmers weren't switched on and when asked for warming - nothing was done. I would suggest maybe eggs cooked to order if that was the case. This was the only reason for the lower score.

This is a lovely big resort. It seems that big groups use this resort. We booked the luxury suite as it had two bedrooms to fit us and the kids so was a bit more expensive but its the best room!! Its kinda classic but so comfortable and clean. You have a massive living area and two big bedrooms and the balcony looks out over the river kwai. You can walk to the River Kwai and taxi into the main town is easy. The pool is great and the staff just lovely. They are super helpful with booking tours etc. We really enjoyed our stay and could have stayed longer.

The Felix River Kwai Resort was a luxury stay for us. The resort is huge and was really peaceful when we visited. There was a really nice pool which was super refreshing, and a poolside bar where you could order food and drinks. Our room was huge and super comfortable, with a TV, terrace, a really comfortable bed and also came with room service! We could walk along the river and was only a short walk from the bridge where we could see the train going pass

The only thing was the water pressure wasn’t great in the shower!

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Layout and facilities were good. Exterior of the property was welcoming and opulent. Everywhere was clean, the staff are a credit to the hotel 🙏🏻

Reception no a/c during our visit. The grounds paving were a little tired as was our room. Breakfast was a bit dull as for the offerings, no atmosphere in the restaurant. The Felix is probably a work in progress. The staff deserve to work in a hotel that is invested in.

the room is clean and a good size, comfortable bed and pillows. I like the training pool in particular, good for swim exercise. the pool is deep thus the water is cooling. most facilities are relatively old though including the pool. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.

I had to call for bedsheet and blanket cover change when I opened the blanket wanting to sleep since there were ants all over the sheet under the blanket. A friendly house keeper came to change it in 15 minutes so, not too bad. oh! one more terrible thing was the faucet, the shower head didn’t work properly, very little water came out but most of it just leak off the sides of the faucet and shower head. The whole shower set needs to be changed.

Beautiful hotel, peaceful with fabulous views

In truth the hotel is in need of an upgrade, mainly the bathrooms are looking dated. Walk in showers would definitely improve this already fabulous hotel. 1 major dislike was the eggs at breakfast. Leaving a tray of precooked fried eggs which go cold very quickly was a bit of a downer. They have an egg station, just cook them fresh on request. I’m sure that would save a lot of waste too
