Thai Akara - Lanna Boutique Hotel -SHA Extra Plus

Quite possibly, this was the best place I stayed in for my entire four months in Thailand. While the breakfast wasn't as varied as other places, and the gym is drastically understocked, the general vibe and location and design of the rooms are stupendous.

When people are on their decks, they are super close to you and it's really loud and annoying. There's nothing the hotel can do, of course, so it's always a risk who you're going to be next to.

You would never suspect such a wonderful hotel right off a busy street of Chiang Mai. Everything is very calm and relaxing, even on a bustling Friday night there is this tranquil feel to this hotel. I was upgraded to a spectacular room overlooking the pool. Breakfast was alright with everything from fresh fruit to hot Thai dishes and some choices regarding egg dishes that are freshly prepared for you like omelettes, eggs Benedict and so on. The staff were exceptionally nice and accomodating and arranged an airport transfer for me. If staying in Chiang Mai, the Thai Akara would always be my choice and recommendation!

The room was large and extremely comfortable to stay in with everything you might need. The hotel was aesthetically nice to look at inside especially from the view I had outside on my balcony of the pool and sitting areas. All the staff were welcoming and polite, happy to assist if needed.

Perhaps could have had some information in the room about opportunities to book day trips or visits.

Everything!!! this is such an amazing boutique hotel. you feel like you are in paradise. as soon as you enter the porch, you are in front of the pool, surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. The two buildings surround it, so it seems very secluded, even if it’s very close to everything. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and shops around the hotel. Two minutes walk to the Sunday night market which was absolutely amazing. The rooms are very comfortable abd beautifully decorated. we got fresh fruit at arrival and during our stay. water bottles were provided every day, beautiful bath robe, and slippers and comfortable beds. Everything was perfect! The breakfast was very good as well and you could order some things that were not on the Buffet table. Will definitely come back here when we go to Thailand. Would definitely recommend this quiet, cozy and elegant boutique hotel!!!

We got suprised by the customer service and the hospitality given by the staff here. At the reception they gave us an upgrade, That's the first WOW. Then the facilities in the room was WOW. The location to town it's so close and at a walking distance there is a best SPA place in Chiangmai. I've learnt something about how empathy is such an important thing. When we checked out, i was waiting for Grab. after a few minutes, the hotel staff, realized somehow that I'm struggling. She came to me and asked me how she can help me. She called the Grab person and solved the problem, even when i didn't ask for help. WOW.. this is something I will never forget. I'm so touched by the warmness and the empathy shown to us.

The room aircond made the room so dry. Because of that, we struggled sleeping in the room at night. We had to switch of the aircond and suddenly there were mosquitoes is the room. I think, if there is a Ceiling or a wall fan, this problem can be solved.

staff were helpful on reception and arranged a birthday treat for me on arrival. They were very friendly and smiling. The rooms were very large and spacious. Ours were just next to reception but they weren't noisy. The location was good and very close to the walking night market. The ambience around the hotel was very nice. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool.

choosing to eat lunch there seemed to be a bit of a suprise to them and they were very unprepared. They forgot about us a couple of times and the food, whilst delicious, took a very long time to arrive. The decoration in the rooms was a little sparse. Some more art would look good. The pool is very small and only really suitable for one family to be swimming at a time. The gym is also so small that my husband decided not to bother with it.

The location was fab! A stunning boutique hotel right in the old quarter. The room was stunning with beautiful features and decor. the staff were so lovely and attentive. we will 100% visit again

The breakfast didn’t have many vegetarian options but when we asked for a takeaway breakfast for an early departure tour, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

The hotel was beautiful and felt like a nice little resort in Chiangmai city. It feels different when you step into the property. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. They speak pretty good English so no worries on communication barrier. The room was well-furnished with all amenities provided, and it’s also very clean. Note that the aircon is not recommended to go below 23c as it would not work well (which was alright for us). Location is great with many restaurants and cafes nearby within walking distance. It’s also near the Sunday Night Walking Market which is a good place to visit. In any case, you can “Grab” to anywhere easily from here.

The hotel’s WiFi connection was non-existent. If you have a WiFi egg or SIM card it shouldn’t be a problem. We got the corner room and we could hear the club music late at night - if you are sensitive to sound you might want to request other rooms.

everything was great. surprised hugely to the upside. pool area is amazing, location is great for everything around chiang mai and relatively easy acces in old city. staff were very nice!

++ VERY good bathroom and big shower + hot water and good rain shower ++ great looks in the room and in the hotel garden + staff is always willing to help! Speak good english + when checkout is early you can get a great breakfast box to takeaway! + good internet and free water AND cola every day! + oh - about that coffee machine: IF it is working, the coffee is good quality

- very small swimmingpool, in shadow most of the day - it can take 3/4 minutes to start the airco - breakfast is limited and to get a simple omelet pffffffff 10 minutes is the average (while the omelet is the most simple one and the smallest you have ever had) - the coffee machine needs a replacement: it is malfunctioning all day every day after 2-3 coffee..
