Quiet room, well appointed and clean.

We had a snafu with our flights - our arrival was delayed by one day - and it was MUCH TOO DIFFICULT to reach someone who would take responsibility for assuring that our reservation would be held. The number listed on the BOOKING.COM reference insisted they had nothing to do with it, and only when I became quite firm did he give me the number for the restaurant, saying they would handle it. It took a couple calls to raise anyone at the restaurant, but we finally got it all sorted. This should not be the experience!

This 5 room boutique hotel is high on quality and comfort. The bed was by far the most comfy of our 1 week stay in Switzerland. The same goes for the pillows and linens. The room itself was beautifully decorated and furnished with some very unique pieces. We absolutely loved the rain head shower in the spacious bathroom and the hard wood floors. Another plus was the security - your key card is used to buzz you in (1) as you enter the building, (2) as you enter the suite of rooms and finally (3) to enter your individual room. One interesting feature was the artwork on the walls - it is by local(?) artists and is for sale. The WiFi gave us some problems initially, but it was fixed within an hour of mentioning it to the property. There are a number of restaurants in the area and a market in the Helvetiaplatz across the street on Friday morning. Volkshaus is right across the street. Close to the #8 Tram and a short walk to catch many others. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Yard.

Maybe I just didn't read the description well enough, but it was unclear to us when we booked that this property is self check-in/check-out. The attached restaurant is the managing "reception" area. I suppose it is possible to check in at the restaurant, but that wasn't our experience. The question was asked about luggage being left upon early arrival, and it seems like you could leave it in the restaurant, but be aware they do close for several hours mid afternoon. We chose to put our bags in a locker at the train station. I am torn because the room itself was really very nice, but I feel the self-serve aspect should be made plain upfront.

It was a very spacious room, quaintly decorated. They have a kettle with tea/coffee. The bathroom felt almost new with a nice/wide shower stall. There are some nice ethnic restaurants in the area. We found a really reasonably priced Sri Lankan restaurant with excellent food. The hotel has a restaurant as well which we might have used had we not found the other restaurant.

We were a family of three., so one of us needed to use the pullout sofa. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the bedsheets etc. for the sofa. Since we were only there for one night, we used the sofa in its folded state, rather than pursue the staff which is busy running the restaurant below.

The location is excellent and in a great neighborhood for vinyl records (next door) and restaurants. It has great transport links and a 15-minute walk from Zurich HB. The room was spacious and well laid out. I liked the fact there is a coffee machine in the room and air conditioning. The bathroom was excellent and the Soeder products lovely and refreshing.

The pillows need to be replaced and the TV needs to be tuned. I couldn't watch anything and spent 20 minutes trying to tune it without success. It is noisy so complimentary earplugs would be a nice touch. The street noise is consistent all night due to the close proximity to the road and people heading home late at night. I had to close the window so having the air con option was a bonus.

The room was centrally located, clean and had large windows and a bigger than expected bathroom. I was really happy with the hotel and the staff are very friendly. PLUS the food at the restaurant downstairs was delicious. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

No faults come to mind. The entrance is via the restaurant downstairs which is a bit unusual but I felt safe staying here and the room was great and set back from the street.

This Place is very Unique and a mix of small boutique hotel managed from a Chinese / Asian restaurants (their Pad Thai was amazing) and an upper scale Airbnb room. There have one small room on the other side of the street where you can’t see the square and that room wasn’t so great and didn’t have a coffee machine which is essential to me but they were easy to find a great compensation for the inconvenience and served Jura coffee from the restaurant. The 2 or 3 bigger rooms (where I stayed the other 5 nights) bed more spacious, equipped with a professional Nespresso coffee machine and had a very nice view to the square (which I loved to watch people walking by - especially when there’s market on Tuesday / Friday)! There is an even bigger corner room with a fridge (which I think all rooms should have) but can stay anything about it as I didn’t stay there. The service, response time and warmth of all the guys were amazing and it felt like being home and they helped to get thru a very emotional time

As mentioned I definitely think the rooms need a fridge - now it was still cold and I could get my beverages out of the window but at summer time it would be difficult.

I really liked the room. We had one with private bathroom. Everything was very clean. The location could be better, but that's why you get that price in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

There was no one to do the check in or check out, and neither the rest of the day. You have to use one machine outside for the check in and contact via message if you need something else.

We had a great time with Family. The rooms were very neat and clean, walking distance from Zurich Main Train station and last but not the least the Restaurant provides excellent Chinese food. The Hotel Manager and all the staffs were very polite and treats every guest very nicely. I will visit this Place again!

I have to think, but I would say the Automatic Reservation Machine wasn't working however when I called the Hotel they were very prompt in providing the keys in very short time. So nothing Major to complain about.

The property was very clean, great decor, nice and safe neighborhood and very friendly staff. There were clean linens and hot water.

We had booked two rooms under 1 reservation. We were only given 1 confirmation code. To complete the self checking with the kiosk we needed 2 confirmation codes. Luckily the reception (restaurant) was still open to help us out.

Beautiful room, just like the photos. Nice coffee machine. Big bathroom and plenty space, perfect for a family.

Self check in didn't work, luckily restaurant was still open and we checked in there. Couldn't get TV or air con to work, would have been really handy to have air con as it was hot and pretty noisy outside.
