Eurostars Palacio de Santa Marta

As soon as we arrived by car a staff member came out to take our bags. We were then directed to the car park which is above the hotel. When we left a staff member took us by lifts and steps to the car park, sat in the car and directed me back to the hotel. We arrived on a Monday so the restaurant was closed that evening. Many of the staff spoke English. Excellent breakfast. New motorway around Caceres, not marked on even recent maps so an up to date GPS will bring you to the door, and navigate you back to the motorway, aboyt 3 kms from the hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Hotel were very helpful in giving instructions for getting to the hotel which is very close to the Plaza Major. Our room was beautiful and huge. Very clean and comfortable with a shower that was not over the bath. Great view of the storks nesting in the belfry of the local church. Many thanks to Juan for his assistance in going with my husband to the secure parking. It would be impossible to find without him. Breakfast was very plentiful with great choices.

Unfortunately there was no restaurant or bar which meant going outside to find somewhere to eat. The staff recommended one or two to us but after a very long drive we were disappointed that we had to go out. Everything else was great.

Beautiful old palace really well restored and a great position near the Plaza Mayor ( fab restaurant called “Medeval” in said square) . The staff were lovely, our room overlooked rooves and then a wonderful view of the Plaza. Parking is at a distance but one of the guys went with my husband and the actual distance on foot only c.100 metres. Breakfast was fine - even ensuring hot water for our second morning available on tap. Trujillo is beautiful but hilly!!

Lovely historic hotel in a great central location. Very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Staff member assisted us with the parking. Spacious bedrooms. If you are in the town on a Thursday, there is a very good market less than ten minutes away. Ask at reception for directions. Great local pub at the top of the market which is worth a visit.

There was not anything that we didn't like.

The location was outstanding. The main square (which is very beautiful) was about 20 second walk from our hotel and we had beautiful views from our window (we had a superior room....well worth it) We did not eat at the hotel. The room itself was very large and well appointed. We are seasoned travelers and this is one of the very best hotels we have stayed in.

Excellent location and room

Access by car is difficult but once there parking was good. A map in advance would help as sat nav not reliable.

Large room with very comfortable bed. great location with a lovely view over the Plaza Mayor. Breakfast was nice, with a good choice. Easy walk down to the square and village from the hotel. The staff were very helpful, and assisted with parking the car, which was in a car park above the hotel.

The decor was a bit dark and sombre and we felt that it could do with brightening up.

Location is perfect. Staff were fantastic - so helpful, friendly. Especially when we went for breakfast - Sergio and Carmen were the best. They made sure we were accommodated with my dietary requirements. They were friendly and we had a great laugh as we were leaving breakfast. Two excellent people. So thank you both very much. Room was extremely comfortable. On-site parking was so why we booked this hotel

The shower was a bit slippery and water sprinkled out onto the floor.

Lovely location and easy to find restaurants etc

Really difficult to drive to the hotel due to roadworks inspire of having GPS! Had to reverse down a blocked off street, then re routed and ended up in a tiny plaza with extremely narrow roads. Lucky to find a very helpful man who guided us through we had to push the wing mirrors closed to get through! Hotel car park was good but difficult to find your way down from the castle car park. Very lucky that one of the hotel staff went up with my Husband to fetch the car back to the hotel otherwise it would have took ages to find the way back again!

The hotel's central location gives you perfect views over the city's Plaza Mayor - it's something really unique. The rooms are very spacious and the building itself is incredible - an authentic palacio adapted to your needs. The staff is super friendly, gives you all the necessary insiders tips!

Not all the rooms are sunny enough. The furniture and bathroom seem to be worn down. Also, the room was pretty cold when we arrived and it took as a while to figure out the heating system.
