The hotel is in a very quiet location but only 50 or so metres from the main square in Guadix, which means it is in the historic heart of the town with bars, restaurants and shops nearby. However, the Barrio of Cave Houses can be reached after a walk of only ten minutes and walks of no more than 15 minutes take visitors to all the other points of interest in a delightful town except the railway station. As for the hotel itself, it is beautiful. The Spanish have a knack for successfully combining old and new in landmark buildings. Although our bedroom and its facilities were excellent, the small patio and lounge downstairs were exceptional. We liked two other things very much. First, our bedroom had a large fridge, a sink and a flat tabletop where we could easily prepare snacks and drinks. Second, guests are entitled to a glass of house wine on arrival. Ours came with a small bowl of delicious garlic-flavoured olives.

Nothing could have been done better.

A delightful small hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The welcome free drink is a nice touch. The standard double room is on the small side but the bed was very comfortable and the ensuite shower was excellent with good water pressure. The service in the hotel restaurant was excellent and the food top quality . The hote.l is situated just a very short walk to the old town square and about 15 minutes to the cave houses museum which must be visited. The free hotel parking is a bonus.

Nothing springs to mind although on a first visit it is not the easiest to find. This is not the hotel's fault as blame can be attributed to an inept satnav which was intent on sending me on a circular tour of the old town!

The hotel is very special, we stayed in the suite which is really unique 👌. The restaurant in the hotel Is exquisite, the food unbelievably good. The staff all extremely welcoming and helpful, they gave a personal feeling. The beds were so comfortable.

We were very disappointed with the breakfast, after such an amazing dinner in the restaurant (same place as the breakfast) we were excited for breakfast but there was no hot food, only toast, boiled eggs and cold cuts. The little plate of fresh tomatoes were cut few days ago and the slices of cake dry.

Set in the heart of a beautiful city, good research helped us to find the parking and hotel entrance. We were given a pleasant welcome. We had booked on a halfboard basis, and although the set menu in El Buho restaurant was limited, the food was of a high quality, and we both agreed that the garlic soup was probably one of the best we had ever eaten.

It was a shame that the breakfast fare, whilst good, did not match the flare of the evening meal.

The room and bathroom were both large, stylish, warm and comfortable. The bed and pillows were wonderful! Very nice Moroccan style seating area with fountain, and we were given a complimentary drink. The location was great - just a walk down some steps to the lovely main square with restaurants and bars.

The room was dark, and some of the lovely stylish fittings weren’t fully functional: bedside light spots did not move to be useful, kitchenette area unworkable, magnifying mirror positioned so it was impossible to use... all fairly minor but slightly annoying in such an lovely hotel

Location is great. It's like a gem hidden away. It's a beautiful historical place. That ouzes charm. The restaurant is excellent, and within reasonable rate, and above all ,the staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I'd like to thanks most especially to Mariam for being so nice ! I highly recommend this place.

There was no hot water for my husbands shower. seems I used it all. We didn’t realise each room had its own tank. Offering a free welcome drink that can only be taken if eating in the restaurant is not free or a welcome drink. Similar hotels give you a drink on arrival.

We had a suite at the top of this 14th Century old hotel building with an amazing outdoor space shared with one other room with fantastic views of the city and a jacizzi ( this wasn't in use in Feb obvs). The room was the best I have ever stayed in I think especially for a couple! Staff were very kind and friendly - really helpful. Restaurant menu was good so long as you are a meat eater! Lovely food and wine reasonably priced. Hotel had a central space with a fountain and lit by a large skylight window .

Marvellous hotel dating from 16th century. Masses of character,lovely room with big bed, great walk-in shower, excellent aircon and WiFi, gourmet restaurant. Spacious car park at rear of hotel.

All great.

The staff were outstanding. The room was absolutely charming. Very comfortable beds and a good air con system. The central courtyard is lovely. The hotel is right in the middle of the old part of the town and it’s also easy to walk to the cave dwellings from there.

Our room smelled a bit fusty, especially in the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate but a little limited, and the coffee produced by the coffee machine was awful
