Sercotel Hotel President

Sercotel is very well located, 10 min walk from the city center and the Dali museum. They have a very secured underground parking, but it needs to be reserved in advance. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is lavish and delicious in an amazingly designed room with wierd decor, but very Dali-like athmosphere. We were given a ground floor room with a big terrace, which is very convenient when you are travelling with pets. But the upper floors should have a greater view.

They accept pets but actually you cannot visit the Dali museum, as they do not allow the pets to stay in the room while you are away. This was really inconvenient for us - as we needed to leave our cat for 1 hour and go to the museum, but due to the hotel policy we had to be with our cat all the time and thus unable to visit any public spaces.

Ample floor space and patio, with privacy but no view. Three blocks from Rambla and good restaurants. Great water pressure and very hot water option.

Turned out to be a “handicapped” room, and the wheel-chair access to the shower meant no barrier for shower-water flow, so the bathroom floor filled with almost a quarter inch of shower-water each shower, since the bevel to the drain was very slight; so I had to cope with a bathroom floor that was really just a puddle for about 90 minutes afterwards, until it drained and evaporated. Cabinet drawers for clothes storage small and cramped.

we like everything! large and comfortable apartment, everything very clean and sanitized, wonderful decoration, all corners of the hotel, common areas, have a fantastic decoration, where there is harmony, love and good taste for art and a pure and wonderful energy in every detail, the service of the employees is wonderful and everyone is friendly and attentive, Mrs. Olga, an attentive, friendly human being who has affection for the guest, thank you very much for the affection and attention. We recommend this hotel to all travelers, in 40 days, traveling through Europe, it was the best hotel we stayed. thank you and keep it up.

We liked the comfort and quality of the furniture and fittings in the room, and the bathroom. Bed was huge and very comfortable; great pillows/bolsters. Plenty of storage, electrical sockets, and choice of lighting. The lounge area had lovely sofas and quirky sculptures. Breakfast room had comfy chairs, great choice of buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Basement parking a godsend, very secure, and well managed. Room was pristine; very clean! Ideally placed for walking to all museums, restaurants, bars etc, and easy access to main roads out to other places of interest.

Duvets had no covers, and no cotton top sheet provided. Not good in hot weather. (they were freshly washed between each client, obviously) Frontage of Hotel not very attractive. Belied what was inside. Balcony chairs looked a little grubby (plastic)

The staff were very friendly and helpful The room facilities were excellent, a very large double bed (very useful in hot weather), a good sized bathroom with complimentary toiletries and large towels. The overall decor of hotel is very impressive and interesting There were a good range of options for breakfast.

Even though is was easily accessible and secure I was disappointed that I had to pay €13 per day for parking

Great Hotel! Comfortable and smart. Look out for 'President' when the sat nav says you're there, not Sercotel! We were moved to room 703, a huge room with a huge bed, after entering 307 (the room that matched our €64 rate, just the digits are in a different order!) and found it smelling strongly of tobacco. The receptionist was most apologetic and her gesture of a much bigger room for the night was most appreciated. We loved the huge room with a classic view and the town so much we booked another night to stay in the same room! Reception offered €94, booking.com was €88 (discounted from €102). Parking is chargeable but they have an arrangement for motorbikes in the car park across the road - free if you can get past the barriers (easy)and use one of three bike spaces. Figueres has a wonderful vibe and a few classic squares, with wonderfully interesting streets displaying great architectural features, as well as many reminders that this is the hometown of Salvador Dali. It was the fète de Sant Pere when we landed there so we enjoyed 2 free musical concerts in the public spaces while there - great bands and wonderful to see the generations of townsfolk all enjoying the festivities. We found the Lizard Bar - a quiet backstreet haven with a musical hub feel to it. Fridays for live guitar sessions apparently! We highly recommend choosing the President Hotel if the room rate is right - walking distance to town centre and a small convenience store nearby too, to stock up the room fridge!

The only thing that disappointed us a little was was the 'trellis' effect of the lower half of the bathroom door which limited privacy at times - could be done to a better finish?

The location was great, walking distance from the train and bus station. Easy walk to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff were great, always polite and friendly. The room was spacious and having the balcony was lovely as the weather was good. The breakfast was better than we expected with fresh fruit every morning along with a choice of hot and cold options, breads and pastries. On the whole we thought the hotel was great value for money.

Edith m’y carrer as Hotelier, i must say that I was impressed by the cleanliness and kindness of the staff. Excellent value for money. The room was nice (perhaps furnitures a bit old but not a problem at all). Nice bathroom with good amenities. Walking distance of the old town and the Dali museum. They have a car park if space available. Breakfast buffet is very good too.

Upgraded to a luxurious suite.

We'd booked a room with a double bed but were given one with two singles. The only available double was in a more expensive room (€10 more) but it was a larger room, with a superb bathroom and a jacuzzi. Not the hotel's fault! We knew where the hotel was, but kept driving past it in four lanes of very busy rush hour traffic - nowhere to easily pull-in and enquire about parking (which we should have reserved when making the booking). Instead we parked in the eye- watering expensive public car park opposite. Strongly advise making parking arrangements part of your booking.

We turned up with two small dogs and they were wonderful to us. The room was great with a large balcony. It is clean and very comfortable with great secure parking. We always stay at this hotel when we pass through. Love the easy walking distance into town.
