NH Collection Amistad Córdoba

Excellent location for getting around and seeing all the sights of Cordoba on foot. Nice clean and spacious rooms at the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room had no view at all, even on the top floor. The rooms were quite bland and lacking decorative touches you might expect in a nice hotel. Finally, the mattress on the bed was rock hard and not very comfortable, although the staff did put a topper on when I mentioned it, which helped somewhat and was appreciated.

The flexible check in, the facilities in the bedroom and bathroom. The location is fantastic.

Clarity over the breakfast. At check-in we were told it was £19 per person so we said “yes that sounds good” however when we came to check out they tried to charge us £80 (£40 each) because we hadn’t “pre booked” it. Luckily the receptionist who had checked us in said she would waive that and let us pay £40. This just felt odd to me, and maybe like we were trying to be caught out on a technicality, I really believed we had booked it. The breakfast is good but definitely not worth £40- the only hot food available is an omelette. Just one to be aware of.

Right in the Jewish Quarter the hotel is in an excellent position to see all the main attractions in Cordoba. The Alcazar, Cathedral and Stables are minutes away and easy to access. Restaurants and bars are just around the corner and so convenient from the hotel. We walked a little beyond the Jewish Quater for restaurants we wanted to visit and to the rest of Cordoba city and all is within a reasonable walk.

The pool area was a bit sad and needed to be freshened up and cleaned more often. There were a few bugs floating around which could have been removed and monitored. The area is also in a courtyard which did look a little gloomy and needed a bit of a freshen up. We like to spend an hour by a pool bet weeen going out in the morning and going out for a meal at night and this was not as inviting a pool area as it could be.

Breakfast was in the restaurant; things were a little confusing as it said breakfast was from 7:30 to 10:30 but we saw people going in at 11:00 - 11:30. Good selection of cold food, but hot food, eggs, bacon, sausages etc were served from a small hatchway which we missed the 1st day. Room was a good size, we chose twin beds. Coffee pod machine was in the room, the mini bar included a bottle of beer, but strangely no wine, but room service came with a glass of wine within minutes of requesting. Location is good, 15 minutes' walk to the cathedral and 5 minutes to the old town, restaurants and bars.

Both myself and my wife have restricted walking ability, especially stairs and unfortunately reception can only be accessed on entry and from the lift by stairs, there is a chair lift if needed by a wheelchair. Although the bedroom was spotless the bathroom needs a dose of black mould spray in the shower area, this isn't a comment only applied to this hotel as I have made the comment many times. The shower itself was great. The only other major comment was that neither room service nor bar service was available after 10:30, even in the courtyard or other relaxing areas. Staff were very good, both reception, restaurant and cleaners.

Rooms were bright, location was great, staff were warm and welcoming. Great location close to everything. Excellent steakhouse nearby is not to be missed.

There were a couple small things, the parking and entry to hotel was confusing and not communicated very well. I don't know why they can't include a good map or say, you are going to have to take your car down a very narrow street with pedestrians in the road. The beds were very hard/firm. Breakfast buffet: You need a better system for the eggs to order, the lady who is making the eggs should have all the ingredients at her station. Instead you have to pile it all on your plate from the bar and take it over to her. Then someone comes along and just takes your omelette. One of the most important elements of a good breakfast is the coffee. THe coffee was awful.

The NH Collection Amistad hotel is in an amazing location on the edge of the Jewish Quarter with a 3 minute walk to the Mosque Cathedral. It is a very comfortable hotel with a lovely courtyard and large quiet (premium) rooms with good views, tall ceilings, and large beds. Friendly/helpful staff. Extensive breakfast buffet. Lots of places to visit in the UNESCO Heritage area in Cordoba. Mosque Cathedral is stunning. I Recommend taking guided tours of the Cathedral and also of the Old Town. The wider area of New Cordoba has lots of character and is worth walking around - this took us about 2 hours. There are many places to eat in the evenings and, with the hotel so close to everything, it was easy to walk back afterwards (as well to get back for an afternoon siesta).

We were not particularly impressed with the Alcazar Palace which seems to be in the middle of extensive renovation. We were also not as taken with the free Flamenco dancing at one of the restaurants we went to - the dancing we were lucky enough to see at the Plaza d'Espania in Seville during a day trip seemed much better.

The location was perfect! We absolutely loved the breakfast! There were so many fresh and healthy options that we'd never seen before. You could tell they really put a lot of time and effort into making sure the breakfast was great. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. The bathroom was huge! A big plus, especially with kids.

The only downside was the discomfort of the mattress and pillows. It would have been nice to have a mattress that wasn't so hard and thicker, fuller pillows.

Had a very pleasant stay at Amistad and liked everything: the position of the hotel in the old town - very slightly off the 'epicenter' of the tourist crowds and yet at walking distance from the Mosque - nice room, friendliness of the personnel, oversize breakfast (served until 10:30 a.m.). Hope to come again in Summer and to be able to enjoy also the inside swiming pool ... that looked appealing to me already now (early March).

I regret that very few visitors chose to dine in the hotel's à la carte restaurant - the same one as offers the fabulous breakfasts. The reason seems to be evident, though: there is no "la carte". Instead of a menu you are shown a QR code - to scan and to connect with a Web-site. -- Some people may like it but, in the old times without Internet + wifi + QR codes, we simply talked to each other. Was that a too primitive, and nowadays outdated, communication "technology" ?

There is no flexibility with the check out because I had an emergency case in Madrid and I left the hotel one day before and I informed them earlier as I'm one of regular visitors because I'm studying in Córdoba University and really they didn't care or at least give me any complimentary. The appreciation of your regular customers is a beautiful thing and makes me happy, its not about the money but the way of handling the case.

Fantastic location in the heart of the old city! So much character and culture all around you - all within a couple minutes walking time down small, ancient alleys filled with restaurants and unique boutiques. The hotel patio was magical with paintings and flowers. The room was large and the bathroom even larger. The toiletries provided were excellent as well as the coffee/tea station in the room. We had a lovely view of the front courtyard. The breakfast was abundant and varied, with many local specialties. The front desk booked us for the best and most authentic Flamenco show in Cordoba.

Our first room had plumbing issues and no view. Upon request, they moved us to an excellent room the following day. It was too cold so we couldn't use the pool. We had trouble adjusting the airflow and room temperature.
